  1. Colonel_mp Says:

Sure … for a one year incentive laden deal with an option for 2021. Around the $25 million range. Or franchise tag him, but I would rather use that on Shaq for Sacks.

  2. Loyaltotheend Section 312 Says:

Joe didn’t get the results he liked on the last poll so he tries again ha ha ha ha

  3. 40 TDs Says:

    In BA I Trust!!!

  4. 813bucboi Says:

    not sure…

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  5. El Buco Realisto Says:

    @813broccoli

The question is about the QB, not your sexuality!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    go bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. Coburn Says:

No. We may gamble and end up ina worse situation, it’s always a possibility, but no reason to keep a lame duck around if he’s not winning the guy that’s going to win you a super bowl. Better to have a clean break imo or we’ll be having the same discussion next year

  7. Coburn Says:

I mean if somehow he exceeds all of our expecations next year then what? We will owe him a huge contract and would anyone feel the problem is completely solved going forward with 1/6 stellar years and 5/6 up and down years? If he balls out next year would we really feel comfortable and confident the next year may go the other way?

  8. Evolvingbucsfan Says:

Nothing is promised either way. Not sure.

  9. ben Says:

After 5 yrs …Would you trust your qb in a playoff game ? Why waste time as only winning matters…. move on

  10. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO !!!!

  11. Bucsfan951 Says:

I said yes because I’m not sure there’s a better option at this point. Contrary to belief, I’m ok with bringing him back through a tag of some sort. Anything long term with over 27 million a yr would be a disgrace.

I say do that non exclusive tag on Winston and see how things go. If someone wants him, great! Bucs get two first round picks in exchange.

  12. SB Says:

I voted Yes assuming it will be a team friendly deal. Even as critical as I have been of JW I want to see him in the second yr of BA’s system.
    Don’t tell Ndog that tho

  13. LordCornelius Says:

It sucks this is this hard a decision lol.

Give me Winston back if he’s willing to take a cap friendly incentive laden deal (i.e. worst case he’s $17-20M on the books next year)

    Or

Give me a all-in on a new cheap rook if he’s wanting a bunch of $$$.

I’m guessing either way we will draft a QB

  14. Craig Says:

Y’all already know that I consider anyone to be a better choice than Jameis. Anybody else will be able to be somewhat consistent and that can be worked on.

How can you coach someone whose only consistency if inconsistency.

Because, as Koetter always said “the best ability is availability”? I’m kidding of course. Being available and being terrible is kind of the worst combination imaginable.

  16. Robert Says:

    put a fork in him.

  17. 813bucboi Says:

    realist

momma realist knows all about it!!!!!!!…knock before you enter next time….

    GO BUCS!!!!!!

  18. Buccernutter Says:

This is truly sad that No is winning.

I bet if he drove the field to win vs atlanta, it would be mostly yes.

Going to be a lot of disappointed bucs fans when his contract is announced. Until week 1. Telling you, this is our year….

    …With Jameis!

  19. Matthew Fifer Says:

    @buccernutter

“I bet if he drove the field to win vs atlanta, it would be mostly yes.”

You seriously believe that most of us voting NO were hanging in with him until that drive? You must be kidding. I’ve been done with him for about 3 years. He will never be consistent enough to get us to the promised land, ever. His career here started with a pick-6 and I hope every day it ends with the pick-6 he threw that game.

  20. Buccernutter Says:

    Matthew Fifer

Dude do not even try to speak for the majority LMAO. I am so sick of everyone pigeonholing themselves when referencing the entire fan base. If you looked at these votes, they were all over the place all season. Skyrocketing during the two 450 yard games and plummeting vs the saints.

If you don’t think this would be completely different if he had finished the season with a game winning drive, then you have no pulse on this fan base. You have your opinion, and thats great I respect it, but stop speaking for everyone.

Jameis will be your qb most likely in 2020 so it’s probably time you stop getting so frustrated or you’re in for a long ride.

  21. DoooshLaRue Says:

    813

Good one man, but I think Realist still sleeps with her too.
She’s been trying to ween him forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  22. ClodHopper Says:

Nope! As the season progressed the rest of the team became good enough to win. He was the cog. He’s a great person and I wish him well. He can be successful in any number of occupations. Just not QB. Maybe he can be ballin for the Yankees.

  23. Barack's Crack Pipe Says:

    @Buccernutter

Matthew Fifer speaks for me. XD
    That is all!

  24. TexBuc Says:

I voted yes based on our rich history of QB searches, meaning we would probably go thru 3-5 more QB’s before we find the right one. Then BA will retire and the new coach will just have to make do with the QB for his new system.

  25. D-Rome Says:

This team is not very far away from a deep playoff run if the front 7 are kept. Bucs need an upgrade at RT, RB, and QB. Team could stand to bring in a veteran player in the secondary.

  26. Gettinthebucs Says:

I said no but if he’s willing to take a 1 year deal at the same rate of his 5th year option. Dudes gotta prove he can cut down turnovers. Even if you’re throwing 45 times a game the amount Jameis had is unacceptable.

  27. Buccernutter Says:

    Barrack

Oh ya, I know he speaks for the majority as evidenced by this poll THIS WEEK, but the majority are not educated and simply going off of int #s.

    That is all.

  28. Jaywill Says:

Matthew shut your lying ass up. 3 years ago Winston had only 11 picks and was hurt after 3rd game. He was 9-7 the previous year with 28tds and 18int.

  29. Jaywill Says:

Team went 5-3 the last half with Evans & Godwin missing games. Buc fans deserve to lose. He Lovie as a coach then Dirk who just made a mvp qb worst, 50+ miss fgs last 5 years, the defense had 19.5 sack guy + a 8 sack guy and still 30th against the pass. The running game still missing. If a 10 year vet was in 20/20 club in this offense the 1st year wouldn’t you think a 5 year qb at least do that instead should he could make more mistakes but also throw more tds then that vet. I hope Winston moves on and raises the Super Bowl trophy in Tampa next year. Its would be what these fans deserve.

  30. Buccernutter Says:

    HAHA Jaywill, so true.

  31. Matthew Fifer Says:

    @Jaywill

Uhh, I’m not lying. I don’t care how he played that year or the year before that. I get to see 3-5 games a year because I don’t live in the southeast part of the country. I only generally get to see the Bucs play if it’s a national game or if they are playing an NFC North team as the away team (I live in Chicago). In 5 years, I’ve seen him play about 18-20 times. He won less than 5 of those games, and he played utterly atrocious in over half of them.

I don’t care about his stats, his records, nothing but what I’ve actually been able to see. What I’ve seen is not the play of a franchise QB. I first started to notice that after his first 2 seasons and have disliked him/wanted him gone since.

  32. Buccernutter Says:

    Matthew

Don’t worry. Most bucs fans have only seen 5 games in 5 years. But they still have strong opinions of something they don’t know much about, like yourself.

I don’t live in tampa but you better believe I’m paying $250 a year for directv and still attending 3-4 a year.

  33. Jean Lafitte Says:

Guess the fans have had just as much (of) excitement as they can handle.

  34. SteveK Says:

    Hahaha!

    Tv viewership matters.

Fans have a right to judge the team.

Awful fans like the QB and not the team. They hope for losing with their guy, instead of a winning team. Here’s to hope that we cut bait.

  35. Buccernutter Says:

    SteveK

Do you seriously believe that idiotic post? REAL FANS will support their inevitable starting qb who has been supported by a laundry list of people that are smarter than yourself.

Awful fans hate the QB and hope he fails therefore the team loses.

  36. K2 Says:

If true, I have a problem with Jameis thinking he deserves $30 million a year. Here are a few of the QBs that played better than Jameis last year… Drew Brees, Lamar Jackson, Russell Wilson, Patrick Mahomes, Jimmy Garoppolo, Derek Carr, Day Prescott, Deshaun Watson, Aaron Rodgers, Carson Wentz, Matt Ryan, Tom Brady, Philip Rivers, etc..

Jameis played like a second tier and inexperienced QB…. Sam Darnold, Mitch Trubisky, Kyle Allen, and Baker Mayfield, NOT $30 million!!

  37. T REX Says:

Winston SUCKS when games matter. When the chips are down he folds. How many winning streaks has he had in the first half of the season? NONE but he always starts playing better after we are eliminated. I called it at the beginning of the year…and it happened. Same old story. WINSTON IS TRASH. Garbage. Tine to take out the trash. And you sucka fans can go with him.

  38. Defense Rules Says:

Another one of those Yes or No polls that offers no concrete ALTERNATIVES, thus it’s meaningless.

Ask a concrete question … “Would you rather have Derek Carr than Jameis Winston as your 2020 QB?” … and I can give you a Yes or No answer (my answer would be Yes BTW). Until then, Not Sure … until I know who his replacement is.

Or even asking the question … “Should Bucs pay Jameis Winston $30 mil for his services in 2020?” I can answer that one … No way. It’d hurt the rest of the TEAM and Jameis isn’t good enough to make up for the shortfalls that’d be created (yet again).

Like Raheem said ‘I’ll tolerate you until I can replace you’. That would certainly imply that he’d need to have a replacement lined up.

  39. soggy Says:

Time to move on those last couple games proves it..

  40. Wesley Says:

Only if you enjoy watching interceptions at key moments then yeah sure.

  41. Wesley Says:

Can’t trust him with the football, it’s really that simple.

  42. SteveK Says:

    Buccernutter,

    Re-read and try again!

I root for the Bucs to win every damn game- don’t care about the names on the back of the jersey.

I have a disdain for FSU honks and apologists that put the subpar play and results from our QB ahead of the franchise.

Do you think the Bucs could win without Jameis? What about Jameis gives us an advantage to win? I just see “entertainment” and both teams feasting on his throws. For crying out loud Jameis’ #3 TD received this year was the opposing Defense.

Don’t act like Jameis is coming back and it’s a slam dunk. Idk, you don’t know and when you name call or insult you just look like a little whiny apologist ass beeeotch!

  43. BrianBucs Says:

    Joe

In your poll, if you eliminate the “Not Sure” and just go with “Yes” or “No” the No’ s will be up around 60% or a little more.
    Try it next time

  44. Cannuckbuc Says:

Doug Williams and Steve Young…. enough said

  45. T REX Says:

cannunk, names from the 80s. That’s stupid and scared. Put on your big boy pants lil fella. Don’t be scared.

  46. Tye Says:

He loses way more games than he wins…
He clearly isn’t the answer to winning….
Waste of time and other players talents!..
Starting him is an action expressing the condoning of loses!

    Better off without him..

  47. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

Since you all (Tye Dolla Signs, Sexy Rexy, Bri guy, Wesley Snipes, Roberta, and Steven) believe it’s all Jameis Winston’s that fault we lose…The Bucs — Jameis = Undefeated, no?

  48. Loyaltotheend Section 312 Says:

Since Joe never commented on the results with the last poll I doubt he’s gonna comment on this one as it goes against his flawed view of the QB

  49. MadMax Says:

Not really….one year bridge maybe if he’s friendly with the cap….

    N 923
    Y 610

Looks like he’s outta here. I really think BA wants him gone anyway.
Besides, we got Brady possibly coming! 🙂

  50. Tye Says:

Of the 371 not sure, its likely safe to say that a good many of them would change their vote to NO if they knew the replacement was going to be Rivers/Dalton/Carr..

  51. Buccernutter Says:

    stevek

Stop being a hypocrite. You stay whining on this site. If you think we’d have a better chance with a qb who doesn’t sling it with no run game and a bad passing defense then you are misinformed my friend.
