Steve is back? Thank you sweet baby jesus!!!

Ira is judging Jameis for something he does not have ANY evidence that Jameis did anything!
As a woman my feelings toward Ira has plummeted to the sewer! I had stop listening to this podcast for that reason. Leadership has NOTHING to do with not defending what you don’t know. So Ben Roth….is okay with you and he did much worst, but based on Ira’s comment JW’s is horrible because he is in Tampa…ridiculous.

You guys need to stop trying to read minds and motives. By the way I trust those coaches…because I think they are BUILDING A STRONG TEAM, they have more experience than you and THEY HAVE THE PLAYBOOK. It is easy to criticize from a far.

I agree with BA he has nothing to do with the past years he is looking at the now and future.

Ira…what are some of these guys drinking..or smoking. He either is an exceptional QB when looked at in the totality of the season, or he isn’t. iJust keeping him because there is no one better is a loser mentality, little better than the league handing everyone a trophy….I can hear it now ” Yeah, the Bucs are 8-8…but they deserve a trophy because they did well with the best they could get for the moment”. I can’t believe the Jameis apologists…is it because FSU football stinks so badly..is so lousy, that looking back at past glory days is all they have?

  4. Defense Rules Says:

Excellent podcast. Lots of good back-and-forth banter, right until the very end when each of you picked the Saints to win Sunday. I disagree … Bucs will win this one 31-27.

In our 1st game against the Saints this season (31-24 loss), Bucs had 11 drives that ended with 3 TDs, 1 FG, 6 punts & 1 time ran out (halftime). Jameis & the Bucs offense had ZERO turnovers, and our defense forced 1 INT (gave the offense a 20-yard short field & they scored a TD off it). For its part, the Bucs’ offense was very erratic. Jameis had a meh day throwing the ball (15-of-27 for 204 yards), he was sacked SIX times, and the play-calling stunk (Jameis was neutered … he was 0-for-1 deep in the 1st half, and 2-for-5 deep in the 2nd half, but those occurred during the latter half of the 4th quarter when we were trailing by 14 points).

For their part, the Saints played solid football (as usual). They also had 11 drives that ended with 4 TDs, 1 FG, 3 punts, 1 INT, 1 on downs & 1 time ran out (end of game). Problem (for us) is that 3 TDs were bunched very closely together (less than 16 minutes) & we couldn’t recover from that.

I think the Bucs can put up 31 points on the Saints because our play-calling & execution is improving it appears. And I think our defense is also improving, even though the Secondary is a work in progress. The key will be our pass rush, and we didn’t have JPP when we played the Saints the 1st time. Yup, 31-27 Bucs sounds about right.

What’s the reason the other Joe has been incognito?

  6. Adam Lakers Carolla Says:

    Sage

1st…name your dog Russell after your favorite QB

2nd…If Jaboo has to go for a “he said she said” issue, then surely Tyreek Hill must go for abusing and choking his pregnant girlfriend (he plead guilty)

    3rd…incognito: adjective · adverb
(of a person) having one’s true identity concealed

  7. Jim Says:

Ira, definitely one of your best podcasts, great points and opinions on a wide range of solid, relevant topics. Two comments: The poll was skewed because it didn’t include the best option: Offer Winston a low ball, low guaranteed two year contract while drafting a solid QB prospect. As for Uber, really not worth talking about. No one has performed a more thorough investigation than the NFL, and their conclusion was he “touched the driver in an inappropriate and sexual manner without her consent.” Not convicted? Winston could have gone to court but, just as he did before, he put a gag order on it and paid her off. Then lied to everyone about it. You want to defend that? I’m tired of talking about it…

  8. Jordan Says:

Welcome back, Steve. Pumped my fist hearing your voice on the intro. Whole gang is back and best podcast this season.

That said, be remiss not to express my negative feelings associated with Lee’s comment that “worse than Jameis’s alleged Uber transgressions, are his lying to his teammates”. No, that is not worse, sir. And by saying so diminishes the true enormity of sexual harassment. You can believe whatever you’d like with what happened on the night in question, but if we don’t agree as a society that violating someone sexually is a heinous crime, and yes, worse than lying to your teammates, we’re not heading in the right direction.

  9. Bob Higginbotham Says:

Welcome back Steve! You were missed! Please return!

  10. David Stein Says:

Welcome back, Steve!!! No disrespect to Lee, but Steve, your presence has been missed! Miss the Monday Morning Joe, but very excited to have you back on the Sage’s podcast, good sir.

  11. Dlavid Says:

Welcome back Steve! Great podcast !

  12. Buccfan37 Says:

Agree. The original three talking Buc heads are better than two.
