Best Of JPP Still To Come?

November 22nd, 2019

Props from coach.

Joe has to raise his right hand and happily confess to being wrong. Dead wrong.

Joe couldn’t imagine a person who broke his neck in early May would be ready to play football less than six months later.

Then again, the person Joe is referring to is physical freak Bucs outside linebacker Jason Pierre-Paul. And to hear Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians, JPP is just now rounding into form.

“I don’t know of anybody else that could do what he’s done,” Arians said. “He’s finally getting into shape and ready to roll, and [I] expect good things out of it.”

This is such a wonderful story but with an unhappy ending. Yes, Joe is grateful for JPP to return but it came too late to help the Bucs get into a wild card run. The team had already painted itself into a corner from which it could not escape.

So the question is, will JPP be back with the Bucs next season? He told Joe he wanted to be. But JPP, as well all know, wants to get paid and probably wants to win, too.

    Come back JPP, get under a 2 yr contract Licht…wtf you waiting on? Pay him, we need him!

    I have a feeling we wont be able to afford both Barret and Suh, along with JPP but def bring Barret back too if we can.

    Draft CB Okudah, RT Mekhi Becton, QB Jalen Hurts….sign another DT if we cant get Suh, then see what we have!

    Wrong here too.

    @Joe
    Can I send money for you to ask the Glazers why we are having the same problems despite player and coaching changes?
    How much $$?–Joe

  4. Kansas95Buc Says:

    why did my comment about asking about the Glazers get deleted?
    Your comment was not deleted. –Joe

    JPP wont rush anything….

    he’ll play it out and see what the bucs and other teams are doing….

    imo, he’ll leave…

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  6. lowercaseg Says:

    let him retire as a buc

  7. Mike Johnson Says:

    IF the Bucs want JPP then they had better extend before seasons end. Some other team will pay him what he wants and surely outbid the Bucs. Bring back Barrett also. Suh? Hit the road Jack! We gonna need a very good defense if we are keeping the..Turnover machine (QB)

    @Joe

    I’m not a rich man but I got $100 and I’m sure we can start a GoFundMe page to up the ante lol

    Another mistake. while half of you were asking the Bucs to cut ties with JPP after he broke his neck. JL reworked his contract and voided his last year 2020. We had JPP signed for 2020 for only 12.5 million.

    @Kansas95,

    If they knew the answer, we wouldn’t be in this situation. It takes time to build a team. But, one of the main reasons we haven’t been successful is because there’s too much ego and nepotism at all levels.

  12. Hodad Says:

    When the Bucs were holding OTA’s with a new staff, and young roster JPP couldn’t bother to show up. He was out breaking his neck in the wee hours of the morning instead of being with his team. Some leader. Now with the season already toast he comes back, and wants to lead, or get paid again? While you’re all giddy he’s back, we keep losing. Like we lost last year with him. Don’t recall if Brooks, Sapp, or Barber ever missed OTA’s? We’ve lowered our standards to what leadership is, and who has it.

  13. james west Says:

    they wanna keep him, well it’s simple, cut bait with winston, that frees up quite a bit of money, draft a QB on the rookie salary deal, the cap goes up every year right? so we will have more money, you make a trade or two and get more picks, these trades, probably will have the fanbase frustrated as to why. but we gotta think of the future, and sometimes you have to do what is unpleasant to get where you are needing to go, get a solid corner in FA, use the extra picks on lineman on both sides of the ball, we have not won anything in 5 years with winston under center, and i don’t want to wait another 4-5 years to get every piece of the puzzle he needs to be successful, by then his salary and guaranteed money will make it impossible to trade, or cut, and we will have the next stafford

  14. Owlykat Says:

    We will have to Franchise Barret to keep him. Offer $12 million and incentives to Jameis for one year prove it contract. Resign JPP. Get a QB with our 2d round pick. Third round get a big DT to replace Suh. 1st round pick get a LT so D. Smith moves to OG and Cappa takes over at RT. Free Agency get an older OT that has played in the Pro Bowl, a Veteran CB, and a versatile backup OT who can backup all positions. Lower rounds find a fast WR with good hands and BPA with the rest who are also good at special teams.
