Post-Bye Jameis = Good Jameis

October 25th, 2019

Strong games after bye

A gambling analyst for an NFL rightsholder advises a very smart play Sunday would be to shove all your chips into the middle of the table and bet on America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston.

That’s the word from R.J. White of CBS Sports. While speaking on the CBS podcast “Pick Six“, White said he researched what Jameis does in his first game after a Bucs bye week. Jameis, White said, has solid if not good games.

This motivated Joe to head to Pro-Football-Reference.com to see for himself.

In 2015, Jameis’ rookie season, the Bucs played in the gutwrenching Capital Collapse. There, Jameis threw for 297 yards and two touchdowns in a game that likely was the final straw for Team Glazer in their decision to run Lovie Smith after the season.

In 2016, Jameis threw for 269 yards and three touchdowns in a win over San Francisco.

There was no bye week in 2017 thanks to a hurricane but last season after the bye the Bucs traveled to Atlanta. Jameis threw for 395 yards and four touchdowns. (The game ended with a loss for Tampa Bay on the infamous Bucs trick play took the ball out of Jameis’ hands.)

Because of this, and because White does not trust Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill, White said one of his best bets of the week will be taking the Bucs against the spread Sunday facing the Titans.

Add that Jameis seems to do very well the week after he has a horrible game, and this is good news for Bucs fans.

Oh, and White had yet another piece of wagering advice: Never bet on “UK Jameis.”

The Bucs will win Sunday which will start a string of solid performances that launches them into the playoffs!

    I started drinking early.

  3. TheBucsAnthem Says:

I’m so sick of this crap already

  4. TheBucsAnthem Says:

…….and I hope “Bad Jameis” plays this sunday and stinks up the joint!!!

Put some stank on dat Jameis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

…….this way we can get rid of this 2nd stringer QB, career backup.

  5. D-Rome Says:

In DFS I’m starting Tannehill and betting that the Bucs secondary problems will continue on the road in Tennessee.

  6. unbelievable Says:

Anthem once again showing what a real fraud of a “fan” he is, hoping our team loses.

    lol what a loser.

  7. mike Says:

Us with a bye and a not very good tenn team playing last week equals win for Bucs.

  8. RustyRhinos Says:

Here is the plan for next season, we only play 9 games that way every other week we get the “very good Jamise ” not the normal Jameis. I have not yet given up hope on our “savior” America’s QB the human ATM. But my faith is waning faster than a Famous’s pick six crosses the endzone. It stinks, because I want to WIN!

  9. Allbuccedup Says:

With a bye week, two weeks to prepare, against a mediocre team at best he,the coaches and the rest of the team better do good or they should clean house monday. It could be black Monday come early.

  10. 813bucboi Says:

how many back up QBs has he faced after a bye week?…..lol…

JW cant beat a back up to save his life….lol….

    GO BUCS!!!!

  11. Son of Kobe Faker Says:

“The Tenn Defensive front will smash the bucs weak oline

JW doesnt have a alternatives to improve and get better

The offensive line collapses and JW is told to stay in the pocket and look for the 4th/5th read

Lat year fired QB intern Lefty has no short passing attack and his play designs suk

JW will be pressured all day and Leftfoot will have Periman and Scott miller to help JW

There is no option for Jameis to bounce back”

    Son of Sam

  12. JameisAlmighty! Says:

Famous Jameis Winston has arguably had the best season of any QB not named Brady or Bridgewater.

  13. SteveK Says:

    Jameis almighty,

Jameis is #1 in the league with 3 pick sixes this year!

Does he get a “TD” added to his stats for those?

  14. Sharthappens Says:

How apropos that this gentleman‘s podcast is named pick six when speaking about America’s pick six quarterback.

  15. Tye Says:

would he bet his house on it because i wouldn’t bet a dollar on JW… unless its turn overs and stinking!

What an aptly named podcast for talking about the Soiled Messiah.

He’s gonna suck out loud again this Sunday.
Then we can put Griffin in and let the healing begin!

    Go Bucs!

    F Jamies!

  17. NPRSageBoy Says:

    Dreamers can dream

  18. Sauron's eye Says:

Jameis is now ranked 24th out of 32 QBs per NFL.com today. He is working his way down to the bottom, being constantly passed up by more talented younger players. His career is on track to soon be a backup, ala Mike Glennon.

  19. Ndog Says:

You know what is going to be interesting. When next year Jameis is starting for the Patriots and they win every flipping week, what are you fools going to be saying then?

  20. SteveK Says:

    Jameis to the patriots? Idk?

If Jameis doesn’t stop turning the ball over then he will go be a backup somewhere.

  21. Rayjay1122 Says:

    LMAO….funny joke Ndog.

  22. 813bucboi Says:

    ndog

JW is just like the other FSU QBs that were drafted before him….lol…ej manuel and c.ponder were all first round bust…just like JW….

the only Patriots team JW can start and win every “flipping” game would be for the FREEDOM PATRIOTS in New Tampa…..

    stop the BS dude….

i rooted for him….i wanted him to succeed with the bucs….but it just aint happening….

    JW is a BUST!!!!!

he’s not the first BUST and he wont be the last….

    GO BUCS!!!!!!

  23. AllhailJPP Says:

Cool story bro…so that means he can start once a year

^^^Crazy starting early today LOL. Bucs facing a backup QB which they’re like 0-1,000,000.

  25. Patrickbucs Says:

Yeah JW has that Brady untouchable out-route down, should fit right in next year. Is he going to sign for $14million? Pats would never pay him top dollar or average dollar if they don’t for Brady. But uninformed dog knows what’s up?

  26. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    @ Ndog

    baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwahaaaahahahahahah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Omg……thanks for a good laugh……you made my day

    ——————————-

So, are you and Jameis out in the open now? I want you to know I fully support you and your rights…100%!

  29. lewis Says:

Cant stand to hear JW name anymore

  30. mike Says:

@ndog… you have been smokinng the same thing Lamarcus smokes

  31. sincethebeginning Says:

Heart vs head. I hope the trend holds for Jameis, but I think that it won’t. We can win, but it’ll be because our defense (somehow) manages to work over Tannehill while stuffing Henry, not because Good Jameis shows up.

I have zero faith or confidence in Jameis. No patience either. Yet I still hope Good Jameis shows up. Go Bucs!!!

  32. StonedBuc Says:

    Whos smoking?

  33. Pelbuc61 Says:

So absolutely sick and tired of JW. Wish he was already gone.

  34. Ndog Says:

Belicheck buys low and sells high you guys don’t get it we have a team problem not a QB problem. But I get it you have all been brainwashed so you just can’t see it.

So absolutely sick and tired of JW. Wish he was already gone

So you’re tired of the only productive part of our team?

  36. Craig Says:

In a perfect world Jameis will throw three interceptions and lose a fumble in the first half. Arians will taste disgust and Ryan Griffin will start a push that will almost get to the playoffs.

If you are going to dream, do it BIG

  37. KnoxvilleBucFan Says:

One would think the Bucs would be 8-8 at the very least the last four years if you was to go off this story

  38. Ben real Says:

Lol joe … your such a sucker … you make a fool of yourself every time you speak about jameis …. your stories are as bad as his game play … you toss it out there and it’s garbage

  39. DooshLaRue Says:

    ndog,

Yer boy is responsible for almost 100 turnovers during his tenure with the Bucs.
But yeah, he’s very productive…… in garbage time, throwing to receivers who do him a favor by catching his misplaced balls.

Speaking of misplaced balls…… has JW reciprocated the “love” yet?

If not, I’m sure he’ll call soon.

Or maybe not…… we haven’t heard from Rod Munch in awhile so maybe Jaboo liked they way he hugged dem nuts a little better than you little guy.

    Keep fighting that little fight.

  40. Losinghope Says:

    F+%& pick 6 Jay miss.

  41. DooshLaRue Says:

Jaboo looks like Flip Wilson in that pic.

  42. Anonymous Says:

Listen I’m deff tired of all the turnovers. But most of y’all don’t really know how football works. Winston has all the physical tools an has proved it his stats an not turnovers or wins stats are up their with the best with a garbage team. Winston has bin devolved just not mentally like he should an BA will do it but to think he can develop him in just a few months is ridiculous franchise him for next year an if he has changed after having the QB whisper with him then yea give Winston the boot if BA can’t help Winston then no one can but he’s going to need more time with BA y’all even if he’s bin here for 5 years. It just hasn’t bin with BA

  43. Oneilbucs Says:

I know we are a losing team cause all you guys talk about is Jamies while our defense sucks and we always get a coach that don’t call run plays. You can’t pass the ball and every throw is 10 or 20 yards a throw and espect not to throw interceptions. Until this fan base and franchise realized that the hold quarterback thing is a false narrative in the NFL then and only then we will be back on top. Ain’t no quarterback ever by himself put a team on his back and won the game by himself without a team. The Packers miss the playoffs 2 years and a row cause they could run the ball and play defense. They went out and got a defense and running game and now they are wining again. The 49ers got a good defense and running game and they are wining. Jimmy G is not the reason why they are wining and every body knows it . He haven’t threw the ball 35 times this year. I don’t think he even threw 25 times that much this year. The Patriots are wining because of their defense and running game not Brady that’s why Brady will be gone next year and they are going to keep winning without Brady. Brady has always had a good defense since he been with the Patriots but you guys are brainwashed to believe the false narrative about the quarterback position and they will still tell you that defense wins championships and that’s the part none of you ever realize when the national media tell you that. Look how they protect Wentz by blaming his team and injures on his team and he ain’t looking to good right now. Jamies is a good quarterback that’s on a bad team and bad organization and yall think that drafting another quarterback is going to change everything ??? It ain’t going to happen until we get a team. And by the way my thoughts on BA is changing . He looks like another Dirk Kotter cause he don’t believe in running the ball. He loves Barber and Barber sucks even if ROJO better. What is this love for Payton Barber man !!!

  44. Slugglife Says:

    That gave me a headache.^^^^

  45. Sharthappens Says:

@ Oneil: May I suggest you proof your novels prior to hitting the submit button. You get a pass this time as I am assuming you were deep into a handle of your favorite spirits.

  46. Oneilbucs Says:

Slugglife I know that gave you a headache cause it’s just the truth!!! Sharthappens I have proof let me show you. How come now that the team is losing it’s not Wentz fault it’s because of his team is injured and that’s probably true. But for Jamies his team suck they ranked last in pass defense. They ranked at the bottom in rushing. They ranked at the bottom in getting turnovers the only good stat they have is stopping the run. Now you tell me how is it the quarterback fault because we not winning. Rogers couldn’t overcome that the last 2 years so right now Wentz can’t overcome it now but national media don’t mind if he can’t but Jamies should be able to overcome all of that . AGAIN FALSE NARRATIVE!!!!! AND THEIR BASIA!!!! IT TAKES A Team NOT JUST A QUARTERBACK!!!!!! LEARN ABOUT THE GAME BEFORE YOU MAKE A COMMENT ABOUT FOOTBALL!!!!!

  47. Donnie Says:

    Dat photo tho..

  48. passthebuc Says:

Winston and Mariota have long lagged behind their peers. Including this season, Winston’s passer rating on throws from a clean pocket has never ranked better than 20th or worse than 33rd. Mariota has been slightly less consistent. He ranked as high as 13th in 2016 but dropped to 38th in 2017.
