Oblique Injury For Shaq Barrett

October 11th, 2019

Shaq Barrett and another Buccaneer are new names on the official injury list

Man, Joe winced seeing this.

NFL sack leader and one-man wrecking crew linebacker Shaq Barrett is injured. The info is in from England and Barrett appeared out of the blue as “limited” today with an oblique issue. Barrett was not on earlier official injury reports this week.

Starting safety Mike Edwards also made a debut appearance today with a hamstring injury. He, too, was limited.

The injury bug has really hit the Bucs this week.

No, this doesn’t mean Barrett will miss Sunday’s game, but any new Friday injury is always cause for concern. The Bucs’ pass rush hasn’t shown it can thrive without a full-go Shaq Barrett.

i hate to say it but it looks like the season is starting to swirl around the crapper, man i am so sick of this bullspit year in and year out

  2. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Smokescreen. They are probably resting him so that the enemy doesn’t get a chance to see much of him.

Not to mention they can get other players some practice.

  3. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

james west, don’t give up, man.

We are only one game under .500, 5 games into the season. things can still turn around.

  4. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

We get nothing but bad news from the media these days though.

  5. DB55 Says:

Well it is the beginning of the 2 qrt of football. Time for the Bucs to fall apart and have mysterious injuries all over the place.

Good thing I got a early check in at the Holiday Inn Express
    Typical recovery time
While some mild oblique strains can be resolved in just a few days, severe strains can require surgery with a recovery time of 3-4 months.

All hands on deck…..These guys know they got a bye week after this one.

Time for this team to assert itself and get into the bye feeling confident. Then you can come out of that bye firing on all cylinders!!!

And I don’t care how it plays out…..No matter what, when this team gets back home they need to freaking win that game on Nov 10th. Enough of this fair whether bull crap. Our team is clawing their way through a awful toad trip…..They deserve a solid fanbase to support them on return. And we gotta do our share to not have our home field be a Den of Depression!!! Give this team a fanbase they can feed from!!!!

I’ll be there in the South Enzone getting them everybody loud and fired up…..Y’all JBFer need to do your part and do the same for whatever part of the stadium your at!!!! It’s what any decent die-hard would do!

    GOOO BUCS!!!!

Our last home crowd was a steaming hot pile of absolute garbage. It is high time to STAMP that spit out!!!!

    True to form.

    Out of it by Halloween.

  18. Defense Rules Says:

Shaq played an incredible game against the Panthers in their first meeting … 3 sacks, 4 QB Hits, 3 solo tackles. No doubt in my mind that it made a HUGE difference in the outcome. We’d miss him big-time if he can’t go.

Edwards was also listed as Questionable (limited participation) and a hamstring injury isn’t good. But Andrew Adams was no slouch last year, and Darian Stewart showed some promise in the past.

Not only are Cappa & Dotson listed as Out, but so is Bailey. With Wells & Watford in now, that leaves us with ONLY Hawkins as a ‘spare OLineman’ … not much depth there. THAT’S scary. Hawkins was drafted in 2016 by the Steelers but spent that year on IR. Played 5 games in 2017, then spent 2018 on (you guessed it) IR once again. Pitt reports say that he probably wouldn’t have made the team this year so they traded him to the Bucs. Wow, my confidence is soaring now.

The Bucs so far have lost every game I picked them to win, and won every game I picked them to lose – and I picked them to lose this game. Hopefully Arians proves me wrong again.

But man, what a different season it is if that stupid kicker makes his kick and we’re 3-2 right now, and worse case going into the bye is 3-3 and the gearing up for the rest of the season.

Instead they’re risking going 2-4 and starting the draft talk in the first half of October yet again.

Come on Arians, show you’re no Dirk and pull out a victory. I’m hoping he can do like in LA and have the Bucs come out on fire. Also stay on the gas since you know the defense is giving up 30+ points.

Honestly next man up step the f up Do your job get the win no excuse lets get it

  21. DalvinCookRules Says:

Given our draft picks, we SHOULD have someone waiting in the wings ready to more than fill the shoes of Barrett should he not play.

Instead of that, however, we have Jason Licht which ensures we will NEVER have sufficient talent to be a championship caliber team.
