Bruce Arians: “I’m Just Screaming, ‘It Doesn’t Matter'”

Reveals sideline chatter

The season was on the line and the momentum was shifting in the fourth quarter against the Rams.

So what was Bucco Bruce Arians doing after America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, threw a crushing pick-6 with eight minutes remaining that cut the Bucs’ lead to 45-40?

The CEO-style head coach was surveying the pulse of his team and going wild, Arians told Zig Fracassi and Charles Davis on SiriusXM NFL Radio yesterday. Arians was asked about his confidence level after that play.

“I like the resolve that I saw in their eyes on the sideline. After the pick-6 [in the fourth quarter], you know the guy’s were coming over. And basically, I’m just screaming, ‘It doesn’t matter. Those points don’t matter! It’s what we do from here on in,'” Arians said. “We went and had a great drive; would have liked to have a touchdown. We had the big field goal to put us up eight. I thought it was the best drive we had all season.”

That drive Arians is referring to was 11 plays, 72 yards and ended in a 21-yard field goal. It really took the wind out of the Rams before Shaq Barrett and Ndamukong Suh finished them off.

Great insight from Arians, and a great response from the Bucs.

“My Dad doesnt post here no more but

He said we should never have problems scoring in the redzone

Everytime they called the TE pass isolated on 1 side with the 3 wrs on the other side has been easy as fat kid loves cake

OJ and Brate is a total mismatch against a smaller defender. Its a layup drill as they body the defender away

call the damn play again and again”

Confidence = Commitment = Will to Win

    Simple as that.

you would think the bucs won back to back superbowls the way the desperate fan base is acting… you fools will be unbearable if they win back to back games…. you will be putting them right up their with the bronx bombers and UCLA basketball programs as a dynasty with two meaningless wins. bucfan is so very adorable though keep it up

The latest JBF articles and general comments have failed to give me any negative fodder to post on Twitter at FauxabucsFan.
Man what a difference winning makes! Gee, what a concept. Team wins and opinion-driven fan writer/reporter is positive. Team loses and the opposite happens. Team loses repeatedly and offseason trends negative. –Joe

  7. Defense Rules Says:

BA’s right … THAT drive (11 plays) ate up the clock, and that was HUGE. The resulting FG made it 48-40 with enough time on the clock for the Rams to tie it with a TD & 2-point conversion, BUT … the Bucs’ DEFENSE rose to the occasion and sealed the win with a forced fumble & TD of their own. THAT play, and how our DEFENSE stood tall at a critical time, was just as HUGE IMO.

This is why I’m glad Koetter is gone and wanted him gone two seasons earlier

  9. Arealbucsfan Says:

@Tmax so wins are meaningless all of the sudden?

  10. Steven007 Says:

@Arealbucsfan – you must be new here. Let me get you up to speed. Trollmax is the JBF troll du jour. Seriously, if Kate Upton undressed in front of him he’d complain about a misplaced freckle. In other words, he’s simply a miserable human being who trolls all the Bucs fans who get a thrill from a big win. Oh, he’ll cloak it in his mantra of every win being a “meaningless” win (as if you don’t have to win games to get to the most meaningful ones, duh) unless it’s the SuperBowl. Which means that every single game throughout the season is meaningless according to his “logic”. Don’t worry, he’ll respond back to me and call me “Little Stevie” (because it makes him feel big and powerful to drop middle school “insults”) and try to justify his miserable troll word salad. Wait for it.

  13. BucEmUp Says:

I was hoping this was about arians yelling at todd bowles telling him it doesnt matter they have a big kead and to stop playing off coverage and giving away uncontested completions

  14. jjbucfan Says:

Thank you BucEmUp- He is blitzing but playing 15 yards off the line with DBs. We will get picked apart that way as we have in the last 4 seasons. On that last drive with the Fumble 6, we were man up and pressing coverage while blitzing. He has to trust his Dbs or get them off the field. Dean coming back will help. Everyone is busting on Stewart but he has done a damn good job this year. Is he going to get beaten like they all do, but he has been much better this year.

  15. SmoothBayRider Says:

    @Steven007 – Lol , that gave me a good chuckle .

  16. Roadwarrior Says:

@tmax so why are you on this blog ? And what is really your favorite team. Because it certainly isn’t the bucs. Come on man confess. I think you just like to stir sh!t up. Come clean bro. I will give you this though a lot of buc fans have low standards it doesn’t take much to make them happy. Dude it seems no matter what they do your spewing negativity. Could it be the bucs have taken all of your hope and you can’t believe it’s ever going to get better. Call Dr Phil he might be able to help you.

  17. Pugs&Bucs Says:

I was more pissed when our KR took the ball out of the end zone on that kick off for some bone headed reason. The pick six was JW trying to get away from the goal line.

Seriously. We like to hate on the kicker, but ST on a whole blows chimp.
