What Does Scare The Bucs

September 27th, 2019

Remember, Joe warned readers that this may happen.

When the Bucs lost the way they did in a comedy of errors and bad decisions, especially against the Giants to a rookie quarterback, it set the Bucs’ franchise up for massive embarrassment on a national level.

It seems the Bucs, from a public image, have just about hit rock bottom. A soccer player is shooting spitballs on social media at the Bucs for their pratfalls last weekend against the Giants and this is getting big-time play from all sorts of media all over the country, not just sports.

And if a deodorant company wants to get some run, they are doing a damn fine job of it.

Until yesterday, Joe had never heard of the football credentials of this 37-year-old Carli Lloyd. Apparently, she is some soccer player who apparently wants to kick in the NFL. Yeah, and Joe wants to come home to a tipsy Kate Upton after she’s had her share of wine.

(This isn’t some shot at women. We all want something. Most of us have to earn it.)

Joe literally has no clue if this Lloyd has ever kicked a football in college or in any pro league. If she’s a good kicker, Joe is sure she will get a shot from a team, unless all her yacking is just to pimp her sponsor, which very well may be.

But this is the current state of the Bucs. It has sunk to this, just like Joe predicted it would after last weekend. In another era, the Bucs were the constant butt of jokes from late-night comedians.

Now, in the current dark era of the Bucs in the post-Chucky era, athletes take to social media to laugh and giggle at the Bucs.

#ItsABucsLife

As far as the Bucs being scared of 34-yard field goals, the ad agency behind this stunt really dropped the ball.

The Bucs aren’t scared of 34-yard field goals.

The Bucs are actually frightened by 27-yard field goals.

Sad thing is that she probably would not have got the yips and would have nailed the ****ing kick unlike our Gay guy.

  2. Pete I Says:

Good for her! And it’s a clever add for Secret to sell their product to women.

Maybe Matt Gay should buy some Secret Deodorant so he too can be All Strength No Sweat!

  3. mickman Says:

While i have heard she kicked a 55 harder once it means nothing. The reason is that soccer players kick low and long. NFL needs to get up high quickly and with length. All of this has to be done with a rush of 300 lb mean fighting at the line of scrimmage. Nothing like soccer! If this were so easy every soccer player including men soccer players would have made the transition and they have not.

Btw we already have a kicker that can make long ones that she brags about…no thanks.

  4. Buccaneerscotty Says:

I can’t believe you don’t know or didn’t see this story before now? It was all over the news and NFL network during training camp. Duh!

  5. passthebuc Says:

Joe. you need to get out more. She was one of the greatest womans soccer players of all time. Might want to re-read what’s hear. Joe never wrote that he didn’t know who she is. –Joe

    Carli Lloyd:
Carli Anne Hollins is an American soccer player. She is a two-time Olympic gold medalist, two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup champion, two-time FIFA Player of the Year, and a three-time Olympian.

  6. El Buco Realisto Says:

I could see the Bucs bringing her in for training camp!!!!!!! No way ole stale biscuit would turn down a reason for a media tour!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That old crusty loves the camera as much as She-mc does!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2019 will reveal answers to the sheep, that the “real” fans already know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Ndog Says:

Say what you will but this is pretty classless on her part. Being in ads is great and all but to do it at another athletes expense is just well classless.

  8. Bucsfanman Says:

Go ahead and say we don’t deserve it!

  9. #1bucsfan Says:

Dam straight Ndog very classless. Like she’s prob never made a bad kick or 2 in her life. Honestly I do get it fans want players to play like madden. Sorry y’all this is real life where humans do make mistakes an errors an it’s not a video game where everything goes right. Come back to reality y’all

  10. Buc believer Says:

What they don’t mention is she had to take four steps to kick the ball. I would LOVE to see her on a team and then get POUNDED the first time she was on the field by some big dude sick and tired of women saying they can do all men’s sports. Remember Carli sometimes a kicker does have to tackle.

  11. Loyaltotheend Section 312 Says:

When one position is an embarrassment year after year this is what happens

  12. ClodHopper Says:

We deserve this. It’s true. Which is the first ingredient in an effective burn.

We’re Buc fans. We’ve heard and seen worse. Our skin should be too thick to get worked up about this.

  13. It's not the kicker fault Says:

Come on.. lay off the kicker. If the bucs would of have just scored a touchdown instead of trying to run the clock out with 8 minutes left in the game. They wouldn’t had to rely on the kicker for the final out come. But know they had to kick the ball back to them and they scored. So now you want to rush down field so you can set the kicker up to kick the ball. If you would have scored a touchdown instead of trying to run the clock out. The kicker wouldn’t have mattered. CALL THE RIGHT PLAYS. Because if there are just 2 seconds left on the clock believe me… Drew Breeze is still going to score just in case something like this does happen. The bucs gets 1 point ahead of their appoints and they think that are winning a game. This is why so many teams can make a come back and take the lead of the game to win

  14. Anonymous Says:

This team is a national joke for many reasons. The missed kick Sunday is just one of them that keeps the joke going, and it can be forgotten in one week. Raheem points fiasco. Schiano’s discipline. MRSA. Freeman’s “issues.” Lovie and 2-14. Winston Eating Ws. Winston FSU disgust. Winston Uber disgrace. Winston turnover machine. Kneeldowns. Aguayo-Licht. Mike Smith Defense. “QB Whisperer.” LOSING. Until all of the above are gone, it will continue. They didn’t even have this stuff the first 20 years.

  15. Jim Says:

“Classless” is disrespecting a World Champion.

  16. Tampa2ATL Says:

Ha! I think it is funny and creative. If we can’t laugh at ourselves, then probably shouldn’t poke fun at anyone else (which is boring). Would it be funny if it was Bears after their playoff doink? If yes, then chill out cool breeze.

  17. AKickInTheBucNuts Says:

It’s time to put on the brown paper bags Buc fans.

  18. @Hands2theface Says:

Equality is cool. Father of two girls. Both of which played well in flag football. However, my question is this; what does her kick do when full gear is put on? Taking kicks in shorts is one thing but throw on pads and a helmet and how consistently and accurately will she kick.

  19. Ghost of Darrell Henderson Says:

Last night someone said in the pre-game said that the Packer’s offense was so bad that they were 14 places below the Bucs.

    WTF!!!

  20. Aceofaerospace Says:

    You reap what you sow.

  21. D1 Says:

    Buc believer,

Honestly I thought she took about10yds and 30 steps. Its embarrassing to suggest that She could compete with college players yet alone pros.

But I do credit the PR opportunity that it is and who knows when, but there will be a day when a woman competes for a kicking job in the NFL.

  22. D1 Says:

    Jim,

    The Bucs aren’t world champions. So it’s what….respectable ?

  23. Pittsshore Says:

Sign her now. We already have a Gay kicker, male cheerleader, and two female coaches on the staff. Although, I would be concerned if she were ever to sit next to JW on the team plane…..Uber 2.0

  24. Pittsshore Says:

And always remember: Gay ain’t Straight. Wide right

  25. danr Says:

she is actually training specifically for this. She made a kick in training camp on a visit to the bears.

she intends to actually try out for it after training for it this year. It was big news around the time AB iced his feet.

by big news, i would say it got three or four stories on PFT homepage in a day or so.

  26. Cobraboy Says:

In a video of Lloyd kicking a long-ish field goal, she took 6 steps and 2.6 seconds to get the kick off.

In the NFL, the holder would have been tackled with the ball before Lloyd was three steps into her kick.

Absurd to think she could kick in the NFL, but don’t tell the PC crowd.

  27. Joe Says:

It was all over the news and NFL network during training camp. Duh!

Joe is generally at practices at training camp and is not watching TV. Also, Joe isn’t sure the Glazer Shed has TVs. Joe usually talks to NFL Network personnel more than he watches NFL Network in training camp.

  28. Bucsfanman Says:

You know, I really don’t care that she wants to play OR if she can play. What I find absolutely hilarious is how anyone can be offended by this. I mean, really?!
Tell you what, if this offends you or you think it is in bad taste, FIRST, find a kicker for the Bucs. Second, go to your safe space in your basement and ask your mom to bring you a Hot Pocket. You should feel better after playing a few games of Madden and sucking your thumb for an hour.
    Sheeesh!

  29. D-Rome Says:

I’m sure the Glazers have taken notice. Two rookie kickers during the Jason Licht reign of terror have embarrassed the Bucs on a national stage.

  30. Hodad Says:

I could give a rats ass about FG kickers. What scares me is Winston. He handed the first game to the 49ers, did enough to win, at least didn’t give any hand outs to the Pants. Was completely out played by a rookie QB in the second half last week, not being able to muster one TD drive that would’ve put the game away. What scares me is Jameis isn’t the franchise QB we’ve all hoped for, and will be looking for the next one in 2020.

  31. stpetebucsfan Says:

    NDOG

I’m with Jim…lighten up a little. There are two major issues here. Well one for society and two if you’re a Buc fan.

First you can see them sprinkled in here. 300LB lineman have never touched a kicker that I’ve seen. A bad snap perhaps…but I’m not sure given her athleticism she couldn’t kick Martin Grammatica’s tiny butt…no offense Martin I like you.

It’s just the residual chauvinism. So I’m not blind..if you take a blind draw of ten men and ten women overall the men will put up better athletic numbers in speed and strength but the key here is the majority will do that…individually however all bets are off. I have no doubt a woman could kick successfully in the NFL if we males(females are frequently even worse) can get past our hurt macho fee fees.

Part two is only for Buc fans. We should embrace ANY kicker…if a freaking flying saucer landed from another galaxy and creature stepped off who could kick sign him up.

  32. TampaTown Says:

What scares me is I just don’t care anymore

  33. Buccfan37 Says:

Well women have invaded all college and pro pre game and halftime shows. So that is just the beginning push for equal representation. I mute when they start talking.

Bro, it’s strong enough for a man, but made for a woman. It’s women’s deodorant. Don’t judge me if I wear it from time to time… for research purposes…

  35. Jonathan Limpchimpi Says:

Licht Weight…the Deacon of Draft Picks…is simply waiting for Lloyd to enter the 2020 draft. He prefers to draft kickers. He does things his way. Meatloaf once sang “2 out of 3 ain’t bad”. Licht Weight thinks ( winning) 1 out 3 is “darn good!”

    —————

So much so they may punish him/but mostly the fans with an extension thru 2030.

  37. TampaBay55 Says:

    JOE,

She’ll need a little bit more than some wine.

  38. westernbuc Says:

She also takes a running head start to kick her field goals.

Two guys left the game in stretchers last night. Sure, women can play. But how will we feel when a woman fractures her neck?

  39. Bosch Says:

Well at least her boobs won’t interfere with her shoulder pads.

  40. Joe in Michigan Says:

Licht, “Deacon of Draft Picks”, as the troll calls him…Have you ever looked at his draft picks, or are you going by what some told you? Let’s take a look at all of Jason Licht’s draft picks as Bucs GM. I’m not including the 2019 draft class, contrary to the trolls, it’s too early to say someone is a bust after 3 games.

Great: Mike Evans, Ali Marpet (top 10 Guard in the league, anyway)

Good: Kwon Alexander, OJ Howard, Chris Godwin, Kendall Beckwith (before the car accident), Vita Vea, Ronald Jones (this year, anyway), Jordan Whitehead

Okay: Charles Sims, Kevin Pamphile, Jameis Winston (still time for him to get better), Donovan Smith, Vernon Hargreaves, Ryan Smith, Devante Bond, Carlton Davis, Alex Cappa, Justin Watson, Jack Cichy

Terrible/Bad/Irrelevant: Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Justin Evans (still time for him to be okay or good), Kadeem Edwards, Kenny Bell, Noah Spence, Roberto Aguayo, Caleb Benenoch, Danny Vitale, Jeremy McNichols, MJ Stewart, Robert Herron, Kaelin Clay, Joey Iosefa, Stevie T (of the 14 players in this category, 9 were taken in the 5th, 6th, and 7th rounds)

In other words, most of Jason Licht’s draft picks have worked out.
