Lavonte David Says He’s Working To Get Injury Out Of His Head

September 4th, 2019

The spectacular news of Lavonte David returning healthy for opening day is tempered a bit by the realization that the game is a raging fire to jump into just one month after knee surgery.

It’s easy for an outsider to say David had “a minor cleanup” of his knee, but it seems he isn’t thinking that way.

David spoke to media yesterday (video below) and shared that he’s working to get thoughts of his knee out of his head. David missed the entire preseason after getting injured in training camp.

“The whole thing is just how I am mentally,” David said. “You know, coming back from a knee injury, you know, the whole thing is just you want to be able togo out there without thinking about it. That’s what I’m trying to work on right now, just focusing on that and just going out there and just doing my job.”

David went on to say it’s a challenge to get the knee out of his head because it’s his first surgery and “major injury.”

Hopefully, the adrenaline will be overflowing Sunday and any second thoughts about his knee will evaporate against the 49ers. David added he was limited by trainers and coaches in practice yesterday.

And imagine if Lavonte broke…like…his NECK or something.

    JPP contributing this year?

    Yeah, no.

  2. tmaxcon Says:

hopefully it’s easier for him to get a injury out of his head he has already stated he can’t recover from bad calls or big plays…. this dude is too much… send him and dotson to the cornfield they certainly are not football players. play the victim lvd and setup the excuses that’s what buccaneer men do best….

  3. Isaac haggins Says:

Tmax to many of these guys we wish to succeed have been taught to play victim since they were little and yes , it wasn’t a major injury !!! So there’s your double down along with the mental , kinda sounds like another guy that’s in Carolina !!! No toughness and more drive to build an excuse platform than get out there and play , maybe he should shake hands with Ronnie Lott !!! What a Shelia!!!

Licht has had a year to trade him for o line help along with Brate and he has failed the fans, the owners and the team !!!

  4. AKickInTheBucNuts Says:

    LOL! Tmax channeling “Twilight Zone”.

    I’m in.

Let’s all “Wish” weak minded LVD into the cornfield.

  5. Bucnjim Says:

It just sounds bad when you are coming across as weak especially in the NFL. Players on opposing teams eat this crap up and beat you down with your own words.

  6. 813bucboi Says:

save him for week2…..divisional game vs the panthers will be more important…..

    GO BUCS!!!!

  7. Buccaroo Says:

  9. Bucsalltheway Says:

GMC is his boy…he will troll the floppy hat until after week 3…he wants no parts of the bucs/McCoy beef lol

  10. FowlBall Says:

That’s right, Lavonte. The best way to stop thinking about your knee is to concentrate on it!

Your problem is between your ears, not your knee.

Good Lord what a weak di*k.

  11. BucsFan727 Says:

Its ok trollmax. Let it all out. Loser

  12. BucsFan727 Says:

David weak. Na you crazy. I seen that dude eat a tazer at a club. Cops looked scared. LoL bunch of fools around here. David is 10 times the man you are Tmax a troll. Grow a pair and enlighten us on your favorite team. It sure as hell isnt the Bucs. Bucs will go 5-1 in there division. Saints get lucky and beat us once. Other than that we roll on the NFCSouth.

  13. tmaxcon Says:

you seem to get a lot of computer time for a mental patient…. that’s good you earned some privileges. 5-1 you my friend are certifiably nuts….

  14. Hodad Says:

Mental toughness hasn’t been one of David’s strong suits. It’s one thing to think it, but never say it so your opponent knows it. Suck it up buttercup, or pull a Luck, and walk away while you can. We can sure use the 10 million in cap space you’re eating up. We’d be better off replacing you with Cichy. He’s coming off a torn ACL, and is out there flying around a preseason game! Tmax, people hate it when you’re right, and you’re so right about David, and the other loser Dotson.

  15. firethecannons Says:

not sure when he got hurt? what I am getting at is why get the surgery done just prior to training camp? did he get hurt in OTA?, if it was last season he got hurt wtf wait till camp to operate?

  16. bucsfan561 Says:

Its always the one’s that have never played a down of contact football that wanna tell a player how they should feel. I mean think about it , he has to be somewhat strong minded to not lose his mind from losing so much. He still plays at an ELITE level so weak-minded I dare say not…

  17. unbelievable Says:

sorry but this is one of those few times when t max is correct.

LVD is mentally weak (or at least he has been since Schiano was fired).

A penalty in the first 5 min of a game that you simply couldn’t mentally recover from? Gimme a fkn break, that is weak, any way you slice it.

Physically I think he’s very tough. We know he’s played through several big injuries. But mentally? Not so much.

  18. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

Oh brother, and we all know how mentally strong LVD is.

  19. #1bucsfan Says:

What kind of fan wishes for the player to be unsuccessful for the team he roots for? OH WAIT THATS T M A X I P A D!!!! Now that dude is miserable. Read any of his posts an you’ll see for yourselves.
