In recent weeks, Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians said he could cut the Bucs roster by at least a third without much thought.
Now, Arians suggests he could cut the roster to 43. Of course, the roster is 53 players. Cuts must be made by Saturday at 4 p.m. Arians informed the pen and mic club today at One Buc Palace that there are some 10 spots up for grabs.
“Yeah, that’s probably the number when you’re talking about the sixth lineman, fifth backer, fifth corner, fourth corner,” Arians said. “When you’re going around and who’s on [special] teams, there’s about 10.’
Arians has made it known that for guys who may not be starters, they better be special teams players. Thursday’s game in Dallas will be the last chance for many to make a lasting impression.
To that end, Arians said he will keep things simple for players Thursday so they can best demonstrate their skills and not get caught thinking too much.

Brate’s salary would definitely be better spent on an offensive lineman. That’s not Brate hate. He’s a good player. The Buc’s are simply too pressed at o-line to not trade him. With Howard, Auclair, Hutson and Legett in the fold, Brate is expendable.

813bucboi Jeremy McNichols still could not work for BA. He is not smart enough. He couldn’t get down the playbook when he was here. BA is going to add plays to the playbook every week for each opponent just like the Patriots do and players have to soak it up quick to be able to execute them quickly without thinking. McNichols in Preseason likely has a Manila Offense. Doesn’t mean he will look any good when he has to learn a big playbook for the regular season. If he was here he would start getting confused and blow assignments and BA would Can him! Licht did the right thing getting rid of him!

The luckiest Buc may actually be Ryan Smith……he is suspended and won’t count against the roster so a decision doesn’t have to be made on him until later…..he could end up replacing an injured player at that time.

If you are new to JoeBucsFan posts you will discover that there are several people that comment here that can be labeled as least pseudo fans. Some of those may also fit the characterization meant by the word “troll” as well.
Skipping over those names I see most often helps me to get to the stuff I enjoy reading. Stumbling over them for some articles is a bit of a pain in the arse, though. Sometimes I have to just leave and check out the next article without reading all of the comments.

I get the feeling BA has been dying for this week to come. He’s seen first hand how miserable the depth is on this team. We may not be bringing in any instant contributors, but the overhaul of in house competition will continue into the season.

Coach is calling em out. No big deal. They sucked last week, DBs included. Browns WRs dropped at least 3 big passes when they were open. We will be fine tho. This team got grit.

Cancer93 should’ve been gone 3 years ago and now the only venom left holding down this franchise is #3. Too many OTF issues and horrid play to warrant a second contract. Go draft a good young QB with his head on straight.
