Picking The Over

August 13th, 2019

Can he do it?

Now this would be an interesting bet.

The folks over at the four-letter have come up with various over-and-unders for each starting quarterback in the NFL. And for America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, the football sophists have a doozy — over/under for touchdowns thrown by Jameis is at 27.

Jenna Laine of ESPN states she would run to the window with cash in hand for this bet.

Over/under 27 total touchdowns for Jameis Winston

Jenna Laine’s prediction: Over. Winston has thrown 27 touchdowns only once in his NFL career (28 in 2016), but Bruce Arians’ red zone packages are a lot more diverse than what we saw under previous head coach Dirk Koetter. And the Bucs will put up more points as a result.

Shoot, last year alone Jameis threw 19 touchdowns playing in only 11 games and many thought that was his worst season since being drafted.

And the Bucs last year were dreadful in the red zone.

If the Bucs have any kind of a winning season, barring injury, then Jameis should get 28 or more touchdowns.

    2015 – 28 TDs
    2016 – 29 TDs
    2017 – 13 appearances but hurt in 2+ – 20 TDs – prorated = 24-29 TDs depending on if you use 11 or 13 games
    2018 – 11 appearances – 20 TDs – prorated = 29 TDs

So yeah just going by history the over is the bet…

“Kobes girl Jenna L knows what she is talking about

Kobe and JL tag teamed Klueless out of 1 Buc place straight up I75 to beg for a job from Arthur Banks

Nothing better to see than seeing Jenna with cash flying all around

    Make it rain”

  3. Race to 10 Says:

I disagree of course. I think the road to a winning season or playoffs has to mean more rushing touchdowns and total rushing yards

  4. Magadude Says:

It’s probably a mark he needs to meet along with half as many (or less) picks to complement his TDs to get the actual results our team needs, or the season can be extremely rough. A markedly improved D can save the day, but not holding my breath there yet.

  5. AKickInTheBucNuts Says:

    Make money.

    Pick the over on interceptions.

  6. 99.97.92.55.47.40.28.20.7 Says:

I’m taking the over as well simply by virtue of the fact that screen passes have been entirely absent from the playbook to this point (to rbs, TEs and wrs, not just rbs)

  7. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Jameis = High Over Thrower Interception Machine

  8. cgmaster27 Says:

bucs anthem = the same regurgitated drivel every post

  9. Pittsshore Says:

    Take the under. Two reasons:
+ significant chance of him being benched the week after the London game.
+ Arians will be attempting to mitigate his turnovers by taking the ball out of his hands.
I’m also seeing the experts have us pick the Georgia QB (Fromm) in next year’s draft.

  10. Magadude Says:

28 is quite possible, I think with or without an improved running game and rushing TDs. INTs must be drastically reduced…or can be another rough season, whether the D steps it up finally or not. Time for this team to to win or better than average chance of blowing this thing up and starting fresh next year….much cheaper….at GM, QB, etc… This year is more than ever hard results.

  11. Lazy Animations (weeb) Says:

I see that pittshore is another clueless ‘fan’

  12. Loyaltotheend Section 312 Says:

If Jameis gets to 30 or more it’s almost a lock the team has a winning record

  13. Pittsshore Says:

@Lazy: I forget more about football than you would ever know

  14. BucsBandit Says:

Jameis Winston, America’s #24 Ranked NFL QB, is a crapshoot as to what he’ll do this season.

  15. Dapostman Says:

Pittsshore = the Cliff Claven of Joebucsfan. It’s comical.

  16. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

Look at the schedule again. I’ll take the unders.

  17. Buccaroo Says:

I’m hoping we have more rushing TD’s this season. The ideal is to minimize the amount of passes thrown in the red zone, not increase it.

  18. Pittsshore Says:

@dapostman: It’s Clavin with an “I” dummy. You must of been on that short yellow bus with JW.

  19. July Joe Says:

    EASILY!

He can easily top 27 TDs as he threw 28 as a 22 year old.

He also has a great shot to win the passing yardage crown as he led the NFL in both 300 yard passing games in 2017, as well as in total yards per complete game, and actually smashed Brady’s (who won the crown as he never got injured and played all 16 games) yards per game mark that season as well!

  20. July Joe Says:

    @Pittshore,

WOW … do you even follow the Bucs?

    1. Arians came out of retirement just to coach Jameis and believes in him more so than maybe anyone else. He had no issues with Carson Palmer or Andrew Luck being “turnover machines” and I think there is about a .0000000001% chance he’ll even consider benching Jameis for a game.

    2. Arians wants Jameis to gunsling … that’s his offense. Of course he always desires a great rushing attack which he had in Pittsburgh and Indy but he expects Winston to sling it.

    3. Fromm is nowhere near the talent or prospect that Winston was or is … it’s like comparing Case Keenum and Aaron Rodgers. There is again about a .0000000001% chance that the Bucs move on to draft a guy like Fromm … yuck.

  21. July Joe Says:

    @magadude,

You’re saying all you need to see from Jameis is a 2-to-1 TD/INT ratio this year? I can hold you to that as I don’t think that will be difficult at all this year, as I do think the team will have at least an average run game and that’s all that’s needed.

In JW’s last 7 games last season he had 13 TD’s and just ONE INT that was “on him” and just four INTs total for a 3.25-to-1 TD/INT ratio … his INT% over that time, even with the 3 picks that were not “on him” would have ranked 4th in the entire NFL behind only Rodgers, Brees and Ryan as well!

  22. ATLBucs Says:

    I see JW throwing 40 TD’s

  23. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

Jameis will undoubtedly be the reason the Bucs win the Super Bowl. …wha?? ….no???

  24. Dapostman Says:

    @Pittshore,

Q: Who is more likely to know how to spell the name?

A: The guy who owns the name. You fell right into it dork.

    Princeton my a*s.

  25. miken Says:

i am hard on jw at times… but this is a lock. If he plays 13 games then this is going OVER.

  26. BucsBandit Says:

@July Joe = Clearly Jameis’ Mom.

Hi, Ms. Winston, welcome to JoeBucsFan.com.

Nice to see you posting here even if you’re a little over-the-top and defending your son and predicting how he’ll be the greatest QB in history.

  27. July Joe Says:

    @BucsBandit = Clearly A.J. McCarron’s Mom.

Hi, Ms. McCarron, welcome to JoeBucsFan.com.

Nice to see you posting here even if you are mad that after you said Jameis Winston couldn’t speak English he became the youngest Pro Bowl QB ever and has made around $40mil while your son is a bum and even scored lower than Jameis on the Wonderlic test.

  28. Clay Travis Says:

    SHUT UP “July Joe”!

How dare you post facts about what Jameis did in the last 7 games last year and trigger my cuddle-buddy @BucsBandit .

@BucsBandit is a genius and his feelings are better than facts!
