Down Goes Mike Evans

July 30th, 2019

Carted.

UPDATE  6:57 p.m. – Bucs star receiver Mike Evans had to be carted off the practice field at One Buc Palace near the end of today’s training camp practice.

Ir is unclear what happened to Evans. Per JoeBucsFan.com manbeast intern Zach Seifter, Evans just crumpled to the ground in a non-contact issue. Seifter thought he saw Evans clutching his stomach as the cart whisked Evans off the field and into One Buc Palace. Other witnesses saw Evans holding his stomach as well.

Evans got up from the ground after he fell and was in some sort of pain.

Of course, all of this is unclear. Bucco Bruce Arians said after practice that he doesn’t consider what happened to Evans to be serious.

“Mike got some cramps,” Arians said. “He is just getting some fluid. He is going to be fine.”

    Seriously ?

    Oh no

  2. Dirty Bucs Says:

I have seen several reports stating it looks like a cramp issue. Let us hope that is accurate.

  3. Bird Says:

    I saw that too

You get a cart with cramps though?

  4. Chip Chipperson Says:

    Pray for Mojo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Buc4life24 Says:

Nooooo! We need some updates STAT!!

  6. Bird Says:

The one guy that can’t be injured

  7. AlteredEgo Say: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

May greatest fear… a camp injury for Mike Evans.. I actually posted a few days ago to put in on the shelf until the season opener other than running routes and catching balls.. sounds like a muscle pull tear… abdomen or groin

  8. DooshLaRue Says:

Maybe he thought he’d change up his annual “ pulled hamstring” claim and try a new excuse for getting out of practice?

Great player, but don’t think he’s fond of practicing in the heat.

  9. Bird Says:

    His legs look fine

    Good sign

  10. WestChap Says:

DooshLaRue don’t be such a doosh.

  11. Bigscott Says:

Jesus! Talk about over reaction. What a minute this is the same site who states the offense sux after 3 practices. C’mon man!

  12. Raceto10 Says:

He’s the one guy who’s production cant be questioned so get the rest of these guys reps just in case. It would be worse to go down midseason. At least he can rest up without games counting against us

  13. Bird Says:

    It’s cramps

    Thank god

  14. Loyaltotheend Section 312 Says:

    Just cramps, no big deal

Hydrate and take the day off

  15. BucEmUp Says:

Sounds like cramps, him swinging his legs seems to indicate he’s not very worries. The only positive thing to dig up out of this is that WR is clearly a really deep position on the team including the tight ends. It would be bad but not the sky is falling. I’ve said before this team has to many pass catchers too many to keep them all.

  16. Amar Says:

Heat cramp. Cart is just precautionary.

  17. gotbbucs Says:

I’ll tell you what, if he plays more than two series in the pre-season then their playing with fire.

  18. Wausa Says:

Cramps can feel like a knife cutting into you

  19. Figures Says:

We need everyone to be healthy so there isn’t excuses for Winston if he shi$ts the bed this season.

Although I’m sure Ndog has a whole book of excuses ready to go.

  20. K2 Says:

The title made it sounded like Mike was done for the season…and I was was hoping that he would to walk again in the future.

  21. Buc50 Says:

Joe…not cool with the headline. I literally closed my eyes for 30 seconds before opening this up to read.

  22. Bird Says:

Sounds like RoJo went off today

    Jameis to Evans was unstoppable.
    Dbs making plays still.

Can’t wait for next Friday vs Steelers

  23. Greg Says:

How many of you armchair quarterbacks have actually had cramps after being out in this heat non issue just needs to hydrate better. You can’t be to lean in this heat need that water fat

  24. Greg Says:

Everybody keeps talking about how he has trimmed down that’s the problem

  25. Buc believer Says:

My girl suggested some Midol for his cramps…

  26. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

Jameis & bucs lucky to have Evans, top 5 player in the league and bucs need to win so that more people realize what a complete stud he is

  27. TonyC Says:

Boy these guys today are amazing. No two a days and they’re cramping? What about fluid intake Jesus.

  28. BucEmUp Says:

Anyone else see that 20 yard dart one handed catch by Rojo today?

B..B..Bu…Bu…B…But, But, We were told Rojo can’t catch passes or block last season. W..W…We…We were told he was a bust.

ITS COACHING!!!!! Glad Evans is ok!!!

  29. KingBuc17 Says:

    Lets hope just cramps

  30. LordCorn Says:

BA said #1 RB job wide open and already referring to it as a 1-2 punch.

Pretty big change of tune from the Peyton Barber legit #1 back praise all offseason but Rojo put some legit sh1t on tape today it seems, and in full pads / live tackling.

Would love to see him go off against Atlanta this year.

  31. tmaxcon Says:

if evans is lucky he can get an injury settlement and escape the black hole that is tampa bay buccaneer football. it’s his only chance to sniff the post season in his career….

  32. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

Get lost Figures. No real fan would want the QB to fail. Go root for the Titans.

  33. cmurda Says:

@Bird. Hell yeah you get a cart in training camp for cramps. In the reg season you get a few guys to pick him up, get an IV going and get your butt back in there M.E. If Arians said he just had cramps, then he just had cramps. We good.

  34. DalvinCookRules Says:

Why is he even practicing? What does he have left to prove? The great players in history were always “hands off” (by defenders) during practices.

  35. Brandon Says:

I can relate. I’ve always been a crazy bad cramper. A few years back I hit the gym earlier in the day hitting a light full body type thing. Later on that night I had a couple drinks and on the way home i such severe abdominal cramps that I had to stop on the highway to try to stretch them out. I got it… kind of. i still have N umbilical hernia to this day. Ab cramps are far worse than even hamstring cramps. They’re awful.

  36. Magadude Says:

Figures is right. And his comments are not about wanting anyone to fail. Only a Winston apologist would take that away. A true Bucs fan wants to get a good assessment a guy who can make $120M or more and suck on the salary cap for the next five years. Need all the weapons for this team, and hopefully some wins. But if Winston fails, no excuses, his azz gets kicked to the curb…and there is no question. Winston apologists will just want to add another excuse to the crappy book already out there falsely claiming he’s HoF. Not!

  37. Magadude Says:

Running tally of Winston Apologist Excuses for why Winston can’t cut it:
    – Mike Evans got hurt.
    – We are challenging him so much he fails (Leftwich Special)
    – Joe torpedoed Winston; Twitter PROVES it.
    – It’s a new offense.
    – His arm is getting too much work (BA Special).
    – Lies! He’s HoF!!!!! Unfair media and false narratives!
    – He tries too hard.
    – The D sucks.
    – The O Line sucks.
    – The coaching sucks.
    – He can’t idenitfy with his coaches.
    – The software sucks.
    – The weather sucks.
    – The WRs can’t run their routes.
    – The receivers can’t catch.

  38. Heathsigh Says:

[What the hell are you talking about? Are you suggesting Mike Evans didn’t go down? Witnessed it personally as did about 1500 fans. The guy absolutely dropped to the ground. Couldn’t get up under his own power. When this story was published, nobody knew what his injury was. If you don’t know what you are talking, best to keep your fingers off a keyboard. — Joe]

  39. Figures Says:

    @touchdowntampabay

Hey you stupid moron nowhere did I say I wanted anyone to fail. Can you read?

    I said “if” moron.

    My word you’re an idiot.

  40. Cobraboy Says:

Ab cramps are the worst. Very painful. They have a great range of motion, but the back muscles, those countering the abs, don’t. So when you get ab cramps, it’s really difficult to counter the cramps like you can with, say, leg cramps.

With BA’s water restrictions, I’m surprised there haven’t been more cramps. Guess the boys are hydrating and getting toughened up.

  41. unbelievable Says:

Ugh. Really hope it’s just cramps and not a sports hernia or something worse!

Rest up and hydrate Mike! We need you!

  42. Clay Travis Says:

A good QB, which JAY-MISS is not (ignore that he was #1 in the entire NFL under pressure and outside the pocket and the best QB in the entire NFL on 3rd down … us wise Bucs fans know he is trash), does not need good receivers or a capable O-Line or even a league average run game, or anything more than a terrible defense to win games in the NFL!

Dan Marino didn’t win 10 Super Bowls because he was JAY-MISS bad.

Warren Moon didn’t win 5 Super Bowls because he was JAY-MISS.

Those guys who 15 Super Bowls with no help at all.

Trust me, they did. Don’t bother to fact check me.
