Chemistry Between James & Perriman?

May 14th, 2019

Good vibes early with new WR.

Could there already be a cosmic connection between America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, and speedy wide receiver Breshad Perriman? Only time will truly tell but Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians wouldn’t rule it out.

Asking about throwing deep to Perriman (Jameis both connected with Perriman and overthrew Perriman in underwear football practice today with practice moved indoors due to the rain), Arians hinted the two didn’t look like strangers on the football field.

“I wouldn’t say there’s not,” Arians responded when asked if there was a rapport between Jameis and Perriman. “It looks really good right now. [Perriman] slowed down on the one he lost up there in the ceiling and that was a great throw and a great read by [Jameis] taking another field versus cover [coverage], so you love seeing those things because you know they’re going to start connecting.”

Arians even dared to say the connection between Jameis and Perriman could be “a heck of a combination.”

Joe remembers former Bucs coach Dirk Koetter saying how chemistry is “a funny thing,” that some receivers and quarterbacks bond together right away and others never do.

Koetter remembered as a rookie Jameis “clicked right away” with Cam Brate. Of course, Jameis never really clicked with malcontent DeSean Jackson no matter how hard he tried in what we later found out to be by far a one-way-street effort.

It sure is promising that Arians cited a connection between speedy Perriman and Jameis is already simmering.

This is good for JW in that connecting on the deep threat is paramount to him staying here. BA won’t be having no dink and dunk QB, which JW is at this point.

Would freaking awesome if Perriman has more yards than Mesean by the end of 2019

    GO BUCS

  3. YoungBuc09 Says:

Uhhhh, who would’ve thunk that it takes practice to build chemistry for some QBs? People bashed Jameis for not being able to connect with DJax, but the guy didn’t want to practice with a QB who said he was a chemistry guy and liked to get with his WRs and practice from the beginning. This season we will see if it was actually DJax or Jameis. Especially if the speedy guy Miller makes the team and can go for a go route or two this season.

diddler, Jameis is far from a dink and dunk QB as he led the league in yards per completion but it certainly will help if he starts hitting on deep balls.

I am on record predicting that Perriman will outperform Djax……Jameis will be he!! bent to prove me right.

Fingers crossed this translates to the games

  7. Jolly Bucs Fan Says:

There are some like hump/brate that the chemistry with Jameis was outstanding and took off immediately.

However, Jameis seems to develop a good/decent chemistry with literally every passcatcher he has had (Watson, bobo, reedy, doesnt matter, jameis builds that rapport) except just 1 single player…

Occam’s razor folks.. Pretty obvious who was at fault there…

  8. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Jameis had great chemistry with Louis Murphy before Murphy got injured…..the same with Shorts…..
    I agree…>Djax was mostly the problem…..

  9. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

He connected with him & overthrew him on 2 deep passes without pads on. Now they are the next Vick & DeSean?

  10. Magadude Says:

Yeah, had hoped/thought there was good chemistry between DJax and JW too. I can’t contain my enthusiasm! The is a show me year, period. However, if it doesn’t work out with the long ball this year…we simply confirm what we really already
    know….Winston can’t hit it.

“The downfield passing will be amazing…

only if we had a pass catching RB to create havoc in the short passing game”

“I watched Alvin Kamara destroy us with the screen 2 times per year, so I passed on Darrel Henderson who will be as good as Kamara”

  12. Jeffbuc Says:

Sure he will Kobe faker. Just like Ronald Jones was a Jamal Charles Clone. And Trent Richardson was the best runningback out of college since Adrain Peterson. They haven’t even played a down and you already know he is offensive rookie of the year. If he was guaranteed to be as good as kamara he wouldn’t have made it out of the top ten picks. Let alone have every team pass on him 2-3 times each. But since you know more than 32 nfl teams I guess I should believe it. Just remember to talk about him in week 10 when he has 60 total yards on the season.

  13. Chris Simms 2020 GM Says:

It was an absolute miracle that Darrell Henderson fell to the 3rd round. Unlike Kamara, who was hardly used at Tennessee, DH put up monster numbers in college. Although, Pollard was the chosen one at Memphis, Darrell scored 27 TD’s last year as a 3rd down backup.

I don’t think he’ll be limited to Offensive Rookie of the Year. I predict MVP of the NFL and the Super Bowl.

    FIRE LICHT TONIGHT!

  14. Kobe Faker Says:

“This will be Todd Gurleys and his Knees last year as a Ram. Henderson will takeover the following year

Defenses is going to blitz every down to come after JW3 before he throws deep…

can BA figure out how to slow down the defense with the short passing game?

Darrel Henderson would have 1000 yards with quick dump offs behind the blitz”

    Kobe Faker

    “Our defense sucks,

    Our running game sucks,

    We have a gay kicker,

We have 2 female coaches with barbed wire tattoos,

    a dude cheerleader and

    Forrest Gump as GM

BUT at least I can read Kobe Fakers Post”

BA seems to be saying all the right things. We shall see.
