Miko Grimes: Brent Grimes May Retire

Even early in the season, unless Brent Grimes balled out like he had the previous two years, it just had the feel that this season was Grimes’ last with the Bucs.

The Bucs had loaded up on corners in the past few drafts and with Grimes being 36 before the start of the 2019 season, and a free agent in March, it just seemed the tea leaves read that Grimes was ending his time in Tampa Bay.

Earlier this fall on her Instagram Stories feed, Grimes’ wife Miko suggested her husband would not return to the Bucs. When asked if Grimes would re-sign with Tampa Bay, Miko said only if he wanted to live in Tampa Bay alone adding, “I’ve seen enough.”

In an Instagram photo she posted today of her and Brent and their son Aiden embracing after yesterday’s game, Miko noted in the comments that she wasn’t sure if Grimes would play again anywhere next year. She wrote she “was delighted to get off this sinking ship.”

Joe is not sure if Miko meant the disappointing 2018 season or the Bucs.

Either way, Grimes went out like a champ yesterday. Atlanta decided to go after him and Grimes was up to the challenge.

If yesterday was Grimes’ final game, he will be remembered fondly by Bucs fans.

    Well he can’t play so….

  2. Capt Kidd Says:

Miko will miss football more than he will. She liked being almost important and running her mouth. She’ll be bored as hell now

  3. BucsBandit Says:

Stick a fork in yourself, Miko… YOU’RE DONE. No one wants to hear your nonsense posts again.

  4. Maze Says:

    What a loser couple

  5. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Miko….I hate to be the one to tell you but Brent helped to sink the ship…..
He was not very good this year and his play yesterday showed he had more to give…..bye, bye!!!

  6. BucfaninMi Says:

    Yeah.

  7. Architek Says:

I will say he’s had a good career and that he can be proud of but this season has been a forgettable season for him and the entire team

  8. scbucsfan Says:

I thought he retired before this season

  9. WalkdaPlank Says:

Thank goodness! It was entertaining at first but Miko watch has come to an end. She can kick rocks for all I care.

  10. Chris Says:

Worst 2018 signing. JL should have brought in another younger vet and used Grimes money to do it. Very bad year for Grimes.

  11. ClwJB Says:

I would have rather watched Ryan Smith battle than Grimes punk out of nearly every tackle this year, it was downright disgusting

You don’t have to announce he’s retiring, the tape has done that for him already

  12. AlteredEgo Says:

He had a good last game of football and looked like he was having a BLAST…. saw a story on the BSPN WWW by Jenna which said who ever the next HC was he’d have to accept Jameis as he is…there will be no eurphoria this time around as Jameis still has to prove a lot

  13. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

Yea this season has honestly been a bit of a disappointment for Brent, as I was really looking forward to him coming back this final year.

But that being said, yes he put in some really good time here in Tampa Bay and played some fantastic games.

    Thanks Brent.

  14. SchwiftyBuc Says:

He already retired. Did y’all not see him actively jumping out of the way of ball carriers to avoid contact this year? He’s been mailing it in since signing that contract.

  15. ElioT Says:

I wish Grimes well and the guy can certainly feel proud of his career if he decides to hang up the cleats.

There is ZERO reason for him to want to stay in Tampa unless the Bucs pay him a ransom which they cannot do.

I do kinda wish we could insert Miko’s mindset into about 80% of the roster. She’s like a much better looking female version of Warren Sapp.

    Thanks Brent, we appreciate you.

  16. Coburn Says:

Just a mattar or whether he thinks he’s going to miss plating and is still going to have fun. Nt like he really has anything left to prove and I’m sure they’re doing just fine financially. As for Miko she may come across a bit much, but as a wife she comes across as nothing but supportive at least in front of thr media. If she anything like that at home her husband should feel lucky. So many men who have to more or less ask permission to do things the like and treated as a means to an end, more about what they can provide.

  17. ElioT Says:

Let’s say Grimes knew he was pretty much done and #lichtmyb*lls still offered him all that money for this year…

    What would you do?

“No I’m sorry, I can’t in good faith take that money from the silver spoon rich kids and this garbage franchise?” – Said no one ever

  18. EA Says:

In the voice of Brooklyn nets owner ” don’t let the door hit you where the good Lord has split you” . He was clearly trying to avoid contact this year, take the money and run Brent.

  19. Darin Says:

Must be nice living in her fantasy world. She can pretty much be summed up by sinking ship. Maybe switch a few letters. Grimes played well mostly tho for not having a defense to play in. He actually went against Smittys wishes n broke up some passes before they hit the receivers hands. What a concept.

  20. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

Im sure shes buddies w djax and in some ways she is right about yhe bucs sinking ship and if the bucs gm wasnt such a fool he wouldnt have paid grimes last year but that is what 5-11 gms do

  21. Danny Says:

Both Miko and Brent can never return and it would be great

  22. Phillybucsan Says:

Good ridence she’s a loud mouth and he is overrated. You either make the playoffs or you don’t. He was not a difference maker here or his last stop.

  23. Mike Johnson Says:

Please Miko..Cut it Out and Knock it off! Brent actually stole 2 yrs free pay from the Bucs. This yr and last. He was done 2 yrs ago. He had a pretty good career. Time for him store up on Ben-Gay and sell insurance.

  24. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Yeah, Miko needs to shut that pie hole!

  25. Rob Says:

You mean he played this year? Thief. Go Bucs!

  26. Buc4evr Says:

Yeah , I thought he already retired this season? Seriously who cares….the guy has nothing left in the tank.

  27. Buc50 Says:

I don’t get all the Grimes hate. He didn’t have a great year but the dude is 36. You have to think that he was a great influence for younger guys. I hope he decides to go into coaching.

  28. Curse of Gruden Says:

Miko shouldn’t want Grimes to retire. As soon as he does, she becomes irrelevant.

  29. richardtyson Says:

If Bosa is gone possibly trade back with the Giants and get Greedy. I’m not into trading back too far like some are. A bunch of picks each with the value of Ronald Jones does not interest me. Maybe you have more confidence in Licht making good on second round picks but not me.

  30. GoBuxFla Says:

Miko needs to do weekly commentary with the Goon squad during the season. She is awesoem.

  31. JayBucBoi Says:

Miko has always seemed to have more heart, or a better mental game than most of these young Bucs players.
It’s a savage game and you have to know that you’re a monster to beast in this league!

Preciate all you gave, Brent! Wish we could have had more success and helped send you out the right way. #RightTheShip in 2019!

  32. WillieG Says:

I’m pretty sure he retired last year.

  33. Hodad Says:

Might want to rethink the retirement talk Miko. Licht is still the sucker in charge. I’m sure he’s fool enough to give Brent another golden parachute.

  34. James Walker Says:

Thank you Miko and Brent. Best to you both. No one should criticize Grime’s effort and dedication. He is a true professional.

  35. Fire Light Says:

Miko was running at Tampa Bay Downs the other day. Miko won the race! Antonio Gallardo with the ride.

  36. Gman Says:

Can’t believe anyone would rally around that trash. The Stick Carriers were silly enough to fall for her antics.

  37. Buccfan37 Says:

There is no shame in bowing out as a millionaire couple.

  38. lambchop Says:

I love all the 20/20 hindsight people coming out to talk trash about resigning Brent for this year. His play may have declined last year a bit, but he was STILL the best CB we had at the time and NOBODY saw the drop off like he had this year coming this fast.

These are the same people who probably “knew” VH3 was going to get hurt at the start of the season, RoJo would suck, Fitz was going to set passing records in the first few games, Kwon was going to get hurt, and Noah Spence was going to be a healthy scratch all year long. LMAO.

    Child please.

  39. mark2001 Says:

I hope so…the time has come to stop, Brent

  40. John Says:

I said before the season started this guy was done. Wasted money this year. He was a ghost on the field.

  41. Jonzey Says:

Let Grimes go get Patrick Peterson and get Greedy Williams in 1st get running back in 2 nd Hill

  42. firethecannons Says:

Yeah Miko get lost and take whatever his name was along wit you

  43. Jean Lafitte Says:

Thanks for everything Brent, and enjoy your well deserved retirement.

  44. Buc believer Says:

He went out like a champ??? Yeah I guess he decided to finally earn his money. To bad it was the last freeking game of the year! Go away Grimes and enjoy the stolen loot from the Bucs this year.

  45. isrBuc Says:

He was terrible, don’t know what your talking about. That td he gave up going all the way across the ez. he’s terrible and miko already said she’s not staying in tampa no matter what

  46. TampaTown Says:

A bunch of 40 year old men acting like 12 year old mean girls talking $hit about Miko. Brent’s Mom is right, not one of you would be able to say these things to their face. But I’d love to see you try. Playing for smaller market teams Brent never got the appreciation and coverage he deserved. The guy was a total professional and a great example of what it takes to be a loving husband and father. I think Miko would be a great NFL agent and shake up the whole system but she said she’s not interested. It’s our loss. Thanks Team Grimey!

  47. Max Says:

He gave us a few good seasons, but injury and age caught up with him.

  48. Bucs fan #7423 Says:

    Hey miko,

You might not like the Bucs but I bet u sure do like those paychecks Grimes got from us!!!!

    -Gtfoh Gold digging attention w##re

  49. MicoGrimesIsThaMan Says:

No respect for this shallow minded man after hearing his husbands podcast interview about how he quit on the team cause he wasn’t getting more money to do his job! You sign a contract you fulfill the obligation! Little Chocha! I hope he never plays again!
