DeSean Jackson, Justin Evans Ruled Out For Sunday; Bucs Practice In The Rain

Moist balls were a big thing at One Buc Palace today.

Joe gathered that from the Twittered words of Buccaneers official in-house reporter/writer Scott Smith.

With their beautiful indoor facility behind them, the Bucs were practicing in the rain today in preparation for what is expected to be a cold and rainy Sunday in Baltimore, where they head to play the Ravens.

Dirk Koetter liked today’s work in the elements, Smith Twittered, before sharing that Justin Evans (toe) and DeSean Jackson (thumb) will miss Sunday’s game with injuries.

The continued loss of Evans is unfortunate. This will be his fourth missed game of the season. And its almost like five because Evans probably shouldn’t have been on the field against the Panthers two weeks ago. He left early because of his lingering toe injury.

Evans hasn’t had close to the sophomore season projected for him. It seems like only yesterday fired defensive coordinator was calling him a Pro Bowl talent.

“Moist Balls”? Why should we care about whether the balls are moist? It just doesn’t matter. Even if the Bucs were to come out with a run-stopping, pass-squenching defense, it just doesn’t matter. We’re 5-8 with 3 games to go against teams, 2 of which are playoff contenders. Sunday’s game just doesn’t matter.

Need to plan on life without Evans. Would think most good HCs will see him as “plan B”

It’s really a friggen shame considering he showed some flash last year. Dude has fizzled out. He wasn’t a good football player this year.

Always backwards trend with this team.

This has been an injury plagued season for Justin Evans. I have no doubt that he have a breakout season next year.

Desean is the worlds biggest Wussy minus the W add a P!!! His whittle thumb hurts! Poor baby! Put on your big boy pants and earn your money you mother F…ing thief!!

    Um, JOE…
No article should start with those words, EVER!!!!
    LOL

    I’m so done with D-Jax.

I hear he’s out and shrug it off. Losing your 6th best receiving weapon isn’t no big deal.

  7. Knack2Babbyyyy Says:

    @Bucbeliever
I think the Bucs have quietly deactivated him for the season, so the thumb injury may just be a cover-up.

  8. I’m a Tandyman Bucs Fan Says:

I think the Bucs leave Baltimore with Moist Balls and another L on their resume !!! And honestly do you think they can beat the Boys in Dallas and actually the Falling Falcons in the Finale!! Sorry Folks I see another 5 & 11 when the dust settles!!!

  9. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

^ Would ya have felt differently, man, if we brought Tandyman back?

  10. Issaic haggins Says:

    Who’s the Bucs # 2 rec ? Who’s the true deep threat ?

Godwin is a # 3 , slot monster or marginal outside !!! Has clock speed but not a deep threat !!!

Jackson May be missed more than some think !!! Best deep threat in the history of the NFL and the coaches can’t get him the ball. Also make no mistake he is a bit of a premadonna but is hands down the best route runner on the team !!! Like it or not the guy makes defenses nervous and nobody can cover him on any route , when he wants to play !!

  11. JimmyJack Says:

Isaaic I could argue a few things there but I’ll just mention your “Djax is our best route runner” claim.

D-Jax is probably our worst route runner. That’s just pure nonsense.

  12. I’m a Tandyman Bucs Fan Says:

Tampa Bay Demon. That should have happened with Evans injury but to be honest. Nope I wouldn’t have felt any different because Koetter ruined Tandy in Tampa by keeping Smith after what he did at the end of 2016 and then Smith not even allowing Tandy see the field in favor of Conte, Evans and Ward. And now for having done that he has doomed his own fate!!!! I am just in hopes that the Glazers can his ass because Tampa has the players to compete and I like their Helments!! But it A’INT gonna happen with Dork in charge!! Sorry if I offended you but the Truth is Truth and Real is Real. Koetter has proven the last 3 years he is not the Captain to lead this Ship!!!

  13. Issaic haggins Says:

Jj he loafs some routes but he has more separation moves and separation steps that the rest of the rec put together ……… he abuses d backs all game long and there isn’t another rec on this team the can claim that per route running ,,,,,, Hump is awesome at reading and finding space but he doesn’t abuse db s .

  14. unbelievable Says:

Yea I don’t think you just give up on Evans or relegate him as plan B guy just b/c he was injured most of this season.

That said, safety is just one of many positions where we need more depth.

  15. THETRUTH Says:

Worried about Evans, hope he doesn’t have turf toe cause that’s a career killer..

Joe what do you know about his injury ?

  16. Bucsfan Says:

Djax is a great route runner, because his current route is to GTFO of Tampa. I envy him Tampabay where ever seasons slogan is “next season”.
