Jameis Vs. The Giants?

November 11th, 2018

America!

It might happen.

With the Bucs’ pirate ship listing heavily and journeyman backup Ryan Fitzpatrick looking every bit the journeyman backup he has been throughout his NFL career, flaming out for football powerhouses such as St. Louis, Buffalo and the Jets, Koetter did not deny that America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, will return to his rightful place as Bucs starting quarterback.

Asked after the 16-3 loss today to the Redskins, Koetter was asked about any changes to the lineup.

He said today is “not the time” to discuss personnel changes. When asked specifically if Koetter may return Jameis back to the starting lineup after Fitz’s ugly game, Koetter did not deny that could happen when the Bucs travel to New Jersey next Sunday.

Koetter added he had to meet with Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht before announcing any new starters, including Jameis.

Koetter then added again today was not a day to make personnel decisions.

**Come back later for Joe’s exclusive chat with Adrian Peterson. The subject? Jameis.**

    JAMEIS AKA COACH KILLER

  5. thunderchunkyPA Says:

I am torn, do they play #3 on this garbage team and crush him mentally and physically for the rest of his career? Dirk F’d this up SOOOOOOO bad. Glaziers don’t fire coaches in season, this IS the time to do so. Give #3 a CHANCE to make it .

  6. dis Says:

Apparently Fitz is the coach killer in the end….

  7. Season Is Over Says:

    Who?

  8. Cs2 Says:

Jameis doesn’t deserve to start, neither should fitzpatrick. Either way we’re bringing in a new qb this offseason

  9. basementbucs Says:

Yup now that we have no playoff chances time to be uber cab boy back in, lets see if we can go for first overall pick in 2019 lets go bucs!

  10. Kalind Says:

Time to let Monken audition. Period.

  11. Dewey Selmon Says:

Before the season started Jameis was on a 13 game tryout, now it’s a 7 game tryout. Fire Dirk tonight for going back to play calling, and promote Monken to HC. He gets a 7 game tryout.

  12. Kalind Says:

Cs2…which QB? Who is out there better?

  13. Heavye Says:

Jameis, fake an injury, get your money and say goodbye!!!! Don’t help this Sorry A$$ Franchise, You will never be Appreciated here, it’s the South!!!!

  14. Pete I Says:

Might as well, it will give the Rod Munchers and SilverBucs and the Buckaroo Bonsai the opportunity to come up for air. Jameis should be well stroked to come in. I mean stoked.

  15. GhostofSchiano Says:

    Ryan Griffin…see what he gots

  16. Bosch Says:

Griffin as starter. Fitz as back up. Jameis as emergency.

  17. NPRSageBoy Says:

Will it really matter? He’s clearly NOT worth $21M. Fitz is Fitz. God Himself could not Be successful as a QB here.
We are the fifth best team in a four team division.

  18. Waterboy Says:

Let this train crash without Winston and give him a fresh start with a new coach next season. There’s no need to ruin his confidence further playing with this inept coaching staff.

  19. Stevbobucsfan Says:

I don’t give a s… what they say about not enough talent on this team or bad qb play this team has enough talent to where they should have at least finished 10 -6 but we all know that’s not happening. I think the bad defense all year has under cut the offense. I think Koetter waited to late to change d cordinator and also coaching not getting the most out of the talent we have on this team

  20. dis Says:

I do want Jameis to go to a real team. Giants will need a QB next year. Gruden likes him. Phins need a qb lol.

  21. wisconsinbucsfan Says:

griffin needs to start……… Dirk is done.

  22. AfrikaThaRapper Says:

    Tragic.

  23. LakeLand Says:

    It don’t matter
    The season is over

It will take an miracle for them to reach the playoffs

  24. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

However, there is a risk putting Jay Miss in there. What happens if he gets hurt and the Bucs are stuck with the 5th year? I love how the Jay Miss supporters talk about he’s “auditioning.” Unfortunately, he’s been “auditioning” for four years and we all know how the script goes. Some good and lots bad. He’s never going to overcome his propensity to turn the football over.

  25. Not Americas QB Says:

I wouldn’t even let Jameis practice. Time to tank and then fire everybody cut Jameis Grimes trade McCoy, and anyone outside of the WR and TE’s that has any value. Hire a young Offensive Genius and start over.

  26. Lovie Smith Says:

After a good week of practice, Jameis will have to be Giant ready.

  27. orlbucfan Says:

Start Griffin and make Winston backup. Nothing left to lose at this point.

  29. WalkdaPlank Says:

    Jameis Winston

    73 turnovers

    48 games

  30. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

Man the JW haters are just blinded by their fury. JW is MUCH better than Fitz and yet you guys say such dumb stuff like we can’t win with JW. Sorry but if he starts next week he will prove the angry mob wrong.

  31. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Of course he will start……this was Fitz’ chance to keep the job and he failed……we need to play Jameis the rest of the season no matter what to see what we have (we probably already know) but he may surprise.

It is as it should be.

  32. T REX Says:

Winston lovers please get out of town.

  33. Oneilbucs Says:

I told y’all fiz ain’t gonna win nothing. We need to build around Winston. That means get him a running game and defense. Tell everyone this is his team and he will not get cut or traded rather the national media or some of the fans like it or not just like the Panthers did Cam they stood behind him. Then they build a defense around him and Cam have all ways had some one to hand it off to , that’s what Winston needs to be successful. That would keep him relax and not feel like he needs to force the ball to win or make a play out of nothing. That will cut the turnovers down and he need support from the true fans . And get Djax out of here . He was also the problem. We never needed him from the jump. We were a better team without him and Winston was a better quarterback as well . Dirk has to go now .

  34. Cobraboy Says:

I want to see what Griffin brings to the table.

  35. Steve_O Says:

It doesn’t matter who starts at this point. Lose out the rest of the year for the best draft pick. Fire Koetter and Catanzaro they both deserve to be jobless at this point.

  36. Rod Munch Says:

The triggered Winston haters having a meltdown. LOL!

  37. Pete I Says:

    The Rod Muncher!

  38. JimmyJack Says:

Neither QB can win here and we all know it.

  39. Sharkiebucfan Says:

Anyone asking for a now flipin journey man third string qb to start is a moron. Sorry, but no thanks. go back to your kintergaden cubby drawer and make sure to pull out your medication because you’re out of your mind. #itsabucslife #brownpaperbag

  40. Bucs Fan #7423 Says:

I say start Jameis against the Giants and 49ers, they both suck so hopefully it will give him a confidence boost and increase his trade value.

  41. Ed Says:

It’s too much of a mess, players here have had it so easy. The have the ability to make great plays but as a team they don’t get it together in all the various phases of the game.

I blame coaching first. The players are not fundamentally sound. When the announcers talked about how beat up the Skin’s offensive line was, that 3 starters were out and then to watch these replacements go out and dominate like they were the Hogs from the old days of Joe Gibb’s Redskins. It doesn’t matter if we play Alex Smith or Mitchell Trubisky or Cam Newton. When it 3rd down and a game is on the line these QBs make plays to beat us.

My wife asked “how can we make an interception”. I told her “our defenders can’t even touch the ball when it’s in the air”. They don’t play the ball so they won’t make interceptions.

Another wasted season with 7 games left. Maybe 2 more wins for another 5- q season.

  42. Ed Says:

    5-11

  43. Troy Says:

When the Giants beat the Bucs can we finally get a coaching change?

  44. Jeagan1999 Says:

Great. I love those 4 INT games that Jameis produces.

Let’s face it, neither of these QBs features in the teams long term plans. Fitz is a better than average backup and a savvy veteran who can help our new rookie QB learn the ropes next season.

Winston’s days here are over. He’s just not reliable, on the field or off it.

  45. Pryda Says:

Bull crap isn’t this the same pos coach that claimed immediately that Fitz would start following game after last weeks lost in so sick and tired of this loser!!!

  46. Troy Says:

PS – Jameis will make the Giants D look like the Legion of Boom was resurrected in New Jersey.

  47. TOM Says:

Count me in on the Griffin wagon. I would try & trade Winston, McCoy. Jackson, Grimes, D. Smith, Bennoch for sure. I would dangle Alexander, m. Evans & I hate to say it Brate, to see what they could get.

  48. Oneilbucs Says:

Ok we send Winston off then what ? To bring another quarterback and yall give him 3 years to win a super bowl. If I’m a young quarterback I do not want to come to Tampa. Yall blame every lost on the quarterback . We need to build a defense and run the ball. The running back is very important for a football team. That lie that they tell yall about the running back is not important is crazy every team that is wining they have good running backs. Every quarterback that is playing good has a good running game it’s not about the quarterback. A defense and a running game will win a super bowl.

  49. catcard202 Says:

If the Glazer’s are still 100% on JW3 going forward…and plan on parlaying his negative episodes/limited production into a new discounted deal…You play him the rest of the way & negotiate hard.

If not, roll with Fritz / Griffin combo to close out the yr – Basically tank it & hope for a top 4 pick in the next draft… (That way, regardless whether you trade him or cut him…You eliminate the $20.9M cap hit all together!)

  50. OneBuc55 Says:

    @Oneilbucs…

Speaking of running backs I thought Peyton Barber was having a great game until we decided to abandon the running game prematurely… thanks a lot Dirk

  51. bkgrime Says:

    I don’t think Jameis is a coach killer…

  52. D1 Says:

“It’s not about the QB ”

Then why you posted 1000 pro jameis anti Fitz posts….

    You don’t fly right..

  53. Bucs 14 Says:

Now starting, for the Tampa Bay Browns, Jameis “America’s Turnover Machine” Magoo Winston.

  54. Troy Says:

I’m going to post the first excuse for next week. Jay-Miss was rusty because he hasn’t played, and one of those picks wasn’t his fault. And and and the scheme doesn’t fit Jay-Miss’ talents. He’s a three step QB, not a seven step QB.

I think I’ve got it. I did a cut and paste from the Atlanta threads. It should work for the Giants game.

  55. Heavye Says:

Yeah keep sticking with 14, he’s our guy! He makes the whole team play better! What a joke!!! #1 offense and we score 3pts, Fan Base is moronic!!! Winston don’t win another game here, let them keep there qb in there so we can be 3-13!!! LMAO

  56. RustyRhinos Says:

Good luck Jameis, here’s to hoping and praying for him not to continue his non-stellar play. His last 4 games he has had 10 INTERCEPTIONS! With 4 fumbles in 4 games and a Picksix. What could possibly go wrong with that stat sheet example. Jameis welcome to what have you done for me lately reality. Let us all hope (not) that on the Second series of his next game he pulls a groin (his not a female AZ uber driver’s) and is out until OTAs. Perfect. Cha-ching$$$$!!! Oh yeah no worries, we can rest easy with this vetran NFL QB getting to start again knowing he has several top 10 QB stats in his first 4 seasons. 3 top 10 ranking of NFL QB in Interceptions, 2 seasons of top 10 QBs in Fumbles 3 seasons of top 10 QB in Picksixes. Ah to be young and so nonchalant with the football that feeds you. Be careful Jameis. NFL = Not For Long, Say, ain’t that right Mr. Glanville.
    Go! Bucs!

  57. AncientBuc Says:

Jameis should be left on bench to keep him out of this fisaco moving forward. Let the new coach reclaim him and let Koetter and his poor decisions and leadership fight it out for 7 weeks with Fitz. Jameis doesn’t benefit from going in now. Neither does the team. Leave him out, let him rebuild trust with his team mates under new competent leadership from GM to coach. Also, leave the Glazers out of this. They are willing to spend money hand over fist to improve. Nothing qrong with that. Much worse to have cheap owners that won’t try.

  58. Oneilbucs Says:

But all y’all was happy about fiz. I heard that they should let him start next year but what about now.

  59. The_Rockstar Says:

The Bucs best chance for winning is Winston starting…… for the Giants
