Gerald McCoy Returns To Practice

October 31st, 2018

“Save our run defense, G.”

After two weeks off with a calf injury, Gerald McCoy was back at practice today on the fields of One Buc Palace.

No joke. As McCoy jogged onto the field to meet his teammates, who already started light stretching, McCoy got a handful of cheers.

He’s back!!

Did he bring any King Kones with him?

  2. LakeLand Says:

I hope he’s been watching Aaron Donald

  3. Bucs Fan #7423 Says:

We need the big softie to get a few sacks

  4. jmarkbuc Says:

    Well

at least we know Cam will be looked after…”Sorry man”

  5. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

    Welcome back #93.

We desperately need ya to give us something right now.

    GO BUCS

  6. JimmyJack Says:

Officially done with this guy. What has he done to win us a game in the last two years?……….Your best chance to find anything he’s done would be to look back at the absolute worst team he’s played during that stretch(jets last year).

There’s a chance he may not see a team that bad for the rest of his career. His peak has come and gone and it meant nothing.

McCoys impact here is like putting a flake of parsley on a turd and calling it dinner.

  7. Robert Says:

    he was gone?

  8. jmarkbuc Says:

IMO the defense was better without him these last two weeks

  9. LakeLand Says:

GMC has 50 Sacks in 8 1/2 seasons

Aaron Donald has 49 sacks in 4 1/2 seasons

  10. Destinjohnny Says:

    93 has lost a step
He hasn’t had one play this year we’re he cleanly beat someone

  11. Dooshlarue Says:

    Oh yeah!!
Cue up Leif Garrett’s….. You make me feel like dancing!
    Our defense is fixed now!!!!!!

    Right?

  12. Dooshlarue Says:

    GMC

    The original Velcro.

  13. BigHogHaynes Says:

    ^^^ that’s an out right lie!!^^^

  14. JimmyJack Says:

Lakeland…….Ironic thing is that GMC might be the reason we didn’t draft Donald.

  15. LakeLand Says:

    JimmyJack

    GMC said this on Twitter

Hahaha all the speculation on draft is funny. I GUARANTEE this….. I WILL NOT. I repeat WILL NOT move to nose, regardless of who we draft!!

Then he went on to say this

Some fans responded to McCoy by saying that’s a selfish attitude, but McCoy said it’s simply a matter of knowing what he does best. McCoy says he can best help his team as a three-technique tackle, and that if the Bucs draft another three-technique tackle, they’d be better off giving that rookie the starting job and having McCoy as the second-string three-technique.

That’s why I compared Aaron Donald numbers to GMC numbers

  16. LakeLand Says:

Aaron Donald was the right pick, everyone knew this
Except for the Bucs Front Office

  17. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

I just remember Aaron Donald throwing Jameis around like a rag doll on that Thursday night game when we were in the all reds.

Oooohh, that was not fun. Uniforms were cool. Nothing else was.

  18. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Another dumb move by licht in a long line of dumb moves, trade GMC when he was allegedly one of the better DTs in the game and get 2 #1s for the guy a few years ago, now its too late, but licht should have traded him and LVD to someone for picks…..of course licht may be head down at a local tavern or updating is resume for indeed

  19. Not there yet Says:

Sad part about where he is in his career is doubting his presence would have made much of a difference

  20. orlbucfan Says:

Koetter needs to pull his finger out of his ear and draw up a smart game plan. One for the offense he’s assembled here. Mebbe he can’t handle the pressure of being a HC and the offensive coach at the same time. If that’s so, then back off and draw up an offensive game plan these players deserve. Delegate what he can’t handle. How hard is that?

  21. Buc believer Says:

What do you mean returns to practice Joe? Do you mean he was gone? Nobody noticed.

  22. Rod Munch Says:

Why do we need him, after all Vita has 3 tackles on the season and no QB hits and no QB pressures. Lets get the lynch mob together and run him out of town!

  23. LakeLand Says:

    Rod Munch

Vita Vea was drafted ahead of the much needed Derwin James
This fanbase has to support him
Because if he fail, the Bucs will be looking really dumb

  24. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

How convenient, right after the trade deadline he is all of a sudden “healthy”.

  25. Rod Munch Says:

LakeLand – It’s actually not about Vea, it’s about the morons who want to run McCoy out of town because they’re so stupid they think literally anyone is better. Why? Because McCoy smiles too much, and you have to act mean and scary or you’re a bust and shouldn’t be in the NFL. Yes, they really are that dumb.

As for Vea, said it on draft night, I don’t think he’s anything more than a 3-4 run stuffing NT and we don’t play a 3-4 and drafting a run stuffing specialist that high is quite a gamble, but the public lynch mob told me he ran a fast 40 (actually he didn’t, he ran a fast for “for his size” – but his 40 was middle of the road by DL standards). In any case what I also said was you can not judge a rookie defensive lineman by their rookie year and you should expect to get zero production. I was in the James camp for the simple fact you could not go into this season with Conte as a starter – that he will single handedly lose you games (Pittsburgh comes to mind). However once they took Vita Vea you now have to wait a couple of years and see where you’re at, that’s how it works with defensive lineman, in particular interior defensive lineman. That’s where we are now.

  26. 813bucboi Says:

    Alaskan

    lol….that’s the same thing I was thinking….

    #NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!…#PRESSURESONTHECOACHES!!!!!…GO BUCS!!!!

Lakeland if this week has taught us anything, it is that this fanbase does not support its players.

  28. DB55 Says:

Literally anyone is better than McIceCream. I’ll take McLovin instead and stick him in there, can’t be any worse.

Notice the goal line stands and short yard stops we had while McIceCream was wherever the he11 he was.

It’s not that he come to a point in his career it’s that’s he’s sucked all along.

  29. GhostofSchiano Says:

Koetter is actually saying “Stop apologizing to our opponents, and stop helping them up off the ground” “It is your job to knock them down”

McCoy is responding “But that’s not nice, but after the game how many scoops of ice cream can I get?”

  30. go for the face30 Says:

He got cheers because he brought ice cream cones for all the bois today

The magic of this website is that its really JoeBucsFansThatHateBucsPlayers dot com. I’m not sure the last time I read anything positive about a player on this team. Winston, McCoy, Conte, our draft picks, our offensive linemen, most of our receivers, our coaches, our GM, hell… everyone.

Why not just pick a different team folks?

  32. Fartman Says:

Good news… setting up for epic upset.

  33. Rod Munch Says:

View from 132 – Winston, McCoy = Pro Bowl players. Conte = Literally the worst safety in the NFL, garbage player. Don’t group those guys together, it’s just dumb.

  34. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

    Well said, @View from 132.
I often feel the same way about it.

  35. DB55 Says:

    132

    We all like JPP

  36. Architek Says:

    132-
Lmao that’s hilarious but true. Fans want success and want a winner in Tampa.

Bucs fans are desperate for a winner that’s all it is.

JPP IS THE BEST SIGNING THIS DECADE HANDS DOWN!!!!! HE IS A GREAT PLAYER.

  38. LakeLand Says:

    I don’t hate the player

I hate the way they play the game of football
    It’s nothing personal

  39. LakeLand Says:

What do people suppose to say?

_Hooray, hooray, hooray the Bucs are the best team in the NFL
_No, they stink like month old collard greens

  40. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

“month old collard greens” ROFL ROFL…. that is definitely an image, LakeLand. haha

  41. Dre Says:

Geraldini sounds like a magician that disappears lmao

  42. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

The bucs are bad and poorly managed, the only ppl saying some bucs are good is this website, some stickcarriers & their mouthpiece, and jason licht, problem is as fans we can see these players ARE NOT good and the franchise has passed on really good players for a long time which makes the bucs cleveland south

  43. DNI Says:

JPP runs circles around GM, minus a good hand. Get rid of him and Jamis.

  44. BucTrooper Says:

Not much of a drop off without him in the line up.

  45. Eric Says:

WE HAVE THE WORST FANS EVER. IF THE GM OR COACH LISTEN TO A QUARTER OF YOU IT WOULD BE A LOT WORSE THAN YOU ALL PERCEIVE IT TO BE. SMH. BUT I AM THE DUMB ONE BECAUSE I READ THIS $HIT….MEANING THE COMMENTS. THANKS JOE FOR A GREAT WEBSITE BUT OUR FANS ARE TERRIBLE. I MEAN, WE CANT GET RID OF EVERYONE DAMN.

  46. AfrikaThaRapper Says:

Just read that Beckwith is back on the practice field. Good news on an otherwise dreary day. Go ‘Bucs !!!

  47. WillieG Says:

I lost all respect for GMC last year. A good leader doesn’t allow subordinates to screw the rest of the team, company or organization. I don’t care if that leader is an “official” leader, or a long time employee, or a newbie.

Long before I was an “official” leader at my company, I kept employees in line. I counseled the newbies and chewed ass when I needed to. I was respected because I earned it. I accepted my role and performed it to the best of my ability, unlike GMC who did absolutely nothing about fat ass Baker. Had that been a new guy at my company, I would have been in his ass the first day he pulled some crap. I know that, because that’s exactly what I did. And I was younger than GMC, and hadn’t been promoted yet.

  48. Lord Cornelius Says:

woopady do is all I can say to any Bucs news at this point.

Unless Fitzpatrick wins the freaking SB this year or Winston comes back and plays well as he had to end 2017 / to start 2018 preseason; I have no idea how anyone can feel good about the future.

  49. Rod Munch Says:

WillieG – What type of person brags on a message board about themselves as being a great inspirational “leader” when all they do is sweep up at Wendy’s? LOL!

  50. AfrikaThaRapper Says:

I don’t know why our fans allowed the preseason to fool them. JW was playing against subs, plus we all know that NFL players don’t play hard in the preseason.

  51. i like gunslingers Says:

i have noticed throughout his career every time the bucs look like, they could make a run and be in contention(and that ain’t often) some kind of phantom injury rears it’s ugly head with GMC and right when you need him, he’s out for two three weeks, or usually the last two three games of the year, i know he’s all pro, but i was never impressed with his accolades, and other players, coaches perception and praise of him, to me he is a player that could have been a legend if he wanted to, but sadly i think he really never gave a damn bout all that stuff, no i just think he was, and is more than happy to get paid until the end of the regular season, then take his long and luxurious vacation, where he can play video games, read comic books, and go to avenger movies and all that jive, i do not think, he is interested one bit in playing an extra down in the post season, let alone an extra three to four games. and that’s my perception of GMC from the years i have watched him, and frankly i will be happy when he retires, and the sooner the better, get a man playing his position that’s got he heart and drive of JPP and maybe we get this defense fixed, thank you for your effort JPP best pickup we have had in years!

  52. Rod Munch Says:

Hey guys, as the leader of this message board I’d like to give you an inspirational speech and show you how to properly express yourself – I want you to follow my lead and do just what I do, because, well, I’m a great guy, and I’m your leader. So follow me, follow my example, and that way I can tell everyone that I lead you to a successful message board post.

  53. Mike Johnson Says:

Somebody here mentioned Aaron Donald. WE..passed on him you know! Also mentioned was not feeling good about our Future. I feel very good about our Future because I know..Its a matter of time before Koetter joins his hommie..;pressbox Smitty at the St Pete Fishing hole for Buc Ex coaches! This franchise WILL (I hope) right itself in the right direction come next season. Yes, Mike Johnson the Buc worst critic said it!! Our Bics ought to just say..F..it.. Make Tony (father) Dungy head of Buc Football Operations and lets start building us a winner. Aren’t you guys tired of us being…LOSERS!??

  54. Rod Munch Says:

Mike Johnson – 12 other teams passed on Donald as well, plus the Bucs badly needed a WR and got a multiple time pro-bowler, it’s not like they blew the pick when they had a huge need. Also does anyone think Donald would be Donald right now if he played in this defense? I mean he’d be a really good player, but I seriously doubt he’d be an MVP candidate with Chris Conte and Ryan Smith running around completely clueless in the backfield playing 20 yards off the LOS as even if you could get pressure QBs would just take 2 steps and toss the ball to the guy who is 20 yards wide open and gets 8 yards before a defender is around.

  55. GhostofSchiano Says:

Thanks, now exactly how do I express my displeasure at a player of this team who underperforms, apologizes to our opponents after knocking them down, helping the other teams players up (yeah good sportsmanship), openly / publicly refused to play in a 3-4 system, the list goes on and on. In what manner can I express my frustration because like many here I am p!$$*@

  56. WillieG Says:

Rod Munch, I didn’t say anything about being inspirational. I simply made the point that I held others accountable whether I was an official leader or not.
But of course you’d need an IQ above that of a door knob to understand my point, so I can see how it was lost on you.

  57. Wesley Says:

He’ll help but not that much.

  58. GhostofSchiano Says:

    @WillieG

Agreed. I read that Kwon did step to Baker and expressed his displeasure in his on field play, off field loafing. Which is why Kwon was voted Captain, and Cancer93 WAS NOT

  59. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I guess Carolina is jumping up and down with joy that GMC returns…….

From reading most of the negative posts……sounds like many of you want GMC to do poorly simply to prove your point.

Maybe I’m strange but I hope he does well and ends up wiping that $hitty-a$$ smile of Cammy’s face……

  60. Ray Rice Says:

Bring back Chris Hovan & Jovan Haye. I’m not even being greedy. I’m not even asking for Greg Spires & Sapp. I’m willing to take tier 2 players. Anyone but Geraldine McBooty. Bet a dub he gets run over today by someone.

  61. Slugglife Says:

Well said on the final post WillieG.

As for the “sweeping up at Wendy’s” comment, why hate on a man, regardless of his job, if he’s working to pay his bills and feed his family? That’s low class sht right there. Not everyone can be a brain surgeon like Rod Munch.

Or are you not a brain surgeon rod? What’s next Rod? You gonna push a old man out of his wheelchair to make yourself feel better that you have two good legs?

  62. LakeLand Says:

GMC will probably get a QB pressure on 3rd and 10
    Force a punt

Then run to the sidelines and
And do the Yuc Shuffle” and hurt his groin

  63. Slugglife Says:

    TBBF

We’ve played our division rivals well up to this point.1-1 is respectable. We have had a chance to win 6 out of 7 of our games, even with a lackluster D. If they can show up on par with their second half performance of last week, I give us a good chance to win.

    All is not lost yet.

  64. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

Hmm Tom Coughlin likes Florida. Maybe he will want to move down the highway.

  65. Slugglife Says:

Agreed Lakeland. I’m not sure GMC has too much to dance about. Might want to stay focused and find a tackle to get into the stat box.

  66. GhostofSchiano Says:

Is that the official name of the dance? The YUC SHUFFLE? LOL!

  67. LakeLand Says:

    Yeah GhostofSchiano lol

  68. Rod Munch Says:

Slugglife – You’re right, I shouldn’t mock him since at least he has a job and serves as a leader for those kids at Wendy’s and isn’t sitting on welfare. My bad, and as the leader of this message board I take full responsibility for my comments and I hope my apology is sufficient repense.

…and this shows why I’m such a great leader, I take responsibility and I’m willing to say when I’m wrong.

You are all very blessed to have me as your leader.

  69. Season Is Over Says:

Keep talking trash about the fan base. I am paying attention. This city has earned every right to bitch and moan about whoever they want on this team. It takes a real smug jack ass to call out a fan base that has just endured some of the most historic losing in NFL history. Winston has brought this situation on himself not being a consistent NFL QB. Him coming back will be the first thing he has probably had to earn on this team since he got here. Spare the BS.

  70. Rod Munch Says:

Season Is Over – You’re a troll, it’s literally in your username. Do me a favor and eat some raw bloody chicken.

    God bless.

  71. Bucs 14 Says:

Prediction: No pressure from GMC or Vea on Cam this weekend. It will be up to JPP if maybe our two inside fat arses can jam up the middle.

  72. Rod Munch Says:

GMC is literally a pro bowl player, a guy who other players say is one of the top DT’s in the game, yet the dolts here think he’s awful and can’t do anything on the field.

Note these same morons think Winston stinks.

They also think Chris Conte was a good safety, Ryan Smith isn’t that bad and Mariota is a top notch QB.

That’s why you don’t take anything you read on internet message boards seriously.

  75. Reach87 Says:

Fake super hindsight having GMs saying Donald was the pick and you knew it. Some of you are pitiful and talking out your a$$. Welcome back GMC. We need you to make our D better this week! Go Bucs!

  76. Reach87 Says:

PS. Love it when someone says they have right to…on this site. Usually means they just (or about to) say something they know is wrong, made up, or an exaggeration and are so frustrated and sophomoric that they can’t or won’t control themselves. Funny. Go Bucs.

  77. joestang Says:

islam by force go back to watching soccer

  78. Issaic haggins Says:

Best two game stint by the D , best effort and energy also ……….. best d line pressure also and low and behold no I run past the pocket every play Curry and I just don’t rally have the drive and desire of a 15 mil 💵 football player McCoy .

Both these guys should be handcuffed for theft from the fans and Glazers !!!

Curry if you ever run past the qb and you are more than 2 feet away you are killing everyone else you bafoon as you run by the qb and remain 2 to 3 yards away 10 plus time a game !!! You are 100 percent useless doing this over and over

  79. jmarkbuc Says:

    RodMunch

Did the Defense play worse without him?

  80. Buc1987 Says:

Rod Munch…wrong DB55 and I are still BIG Winston fans.

We both hate GMC. I started to finally hate him in Chicago.
