Devonta Freeman And Grady Jarrett Out Again

October 11th, 2018

“Monk, if we can’t drop a 30-spot on this crappy Falcons defense, then we’re not the team we think we are.”

Official injury reports can be calming.

Thursday’s shows the Falcons remain in bad shape: defensive tackle Grady Jarrett (ankle) and Devonta Freeman (foot) still can’t get on the field. They missed practice for the second consecutive day.

Former three-time Pro Bowl cornerback/special teamer Justin Bethel was “limited” with a knee injury today, as was wide receiver Mohamed Sanu (hip).

Bucs starting safety Jordan Whitehead, who missed the Bears beating with a hamstring injury, was at full participation for the second consecutive day. Yes! Beau Allen (foot), Carlton Davis (groin), Demar Dotson (knee), O.J. Howard (knee) were limited on Wednesday and today.

    Misleading title, Joe.

    ^no it’s not

It is a little misleading. Suggests that they are out for the game (that’s all that really matters) but they simply missed practice again.

My concern is Atlanta’s offense. I see a lot of points there, at least 5 TDs unless somehow Smith figured out how stop NFL offenses. Not holding my breath but 3-2 sounds pretty good after the last game.

Why would ATL even consider running the ball with our secondary?

Buc History has shown us..time and time again..over the years. ..It matters NOT
who is down for the opposition when the Bucs are playing. 1st string. 2nd string…matters not..one Iota! Bucs have been beaten by 3rd string Qb’s and linebackers alike. Bucs have to be ready. Thats all. Oppositional players being out NEVER give our Bucs the advantage like it does the other teams. And you guys been around long enough know..I’m tellin straight up truth here!

@GhostofSchiano … “Why would ATL even consider running the ball with our secondary?” They won’t. With GMC, Allen, Vea, JPP & Curry healthy, Atlanta shouldn’t be able to run against that DLine. And our DLine should be able to pressure Matt Ryan too. This is what I’ve been waiting for … to see all 5 of those beasts healthy & hunting.

I can understand if our DLine can’t get pressure if they have to play lightweights like Gholston & Worthy in the middle. But if GMC, Allen & Vea are healthy … no excuses for not pressuring the QB. And no excuses for not opening blitzing lanes for the LBs either. Kwon does a lot of talking; now it’s time to put up or shut up. Smitty also needs to turn our very young Secondary loose. They’ll get burnt at times, but the opportunities for turnovers will be there. TURN THE DOGS LOOSE SMITTY! NO GUTS, NO GLORY!

Vea should be 100% healthy now. At least I would hope so… I want to see if things change injecting a healthy Vea into the line. He was “limited” all week before Chicago and rusty from being out for so long.
