Time For Wine

September 16th, 2018

Game won, move on.

Joe is guessing Vinny Curry isn’t talking about Riesling.

Most players after a win won’t admit to too much celebrating. But defensive lineman Vinny Curry confessed there may be a little alcohol consumption when he got home today from the Bucs’ win over the Super Bowl-champion Eagles.

“When you go home and have your little glass of wine put your pinky out,” Curry said of his postgame plans. “We’re going to celebrate for 24-48 hours.”

But it won’t be long before he turns his sights on winless Pittsburgh, who the Bucs host in Game 3 a week from Monday. Part of his focus is he doesn’t want to get caught up in the hype of winning the first two games of the season.

“One game at a time,” Curry cautioned. “At the end of the day, I can tell you this: This doesn’t look like last year’s Bucs on both sides of the ball. It’s your 2018 Bucs. You can’t dwell on the past. You can’t think about what happened last year.”

Curry even noted his old team, the Eagles, don’t look like the same team he won a ring with. New year, new players.

Happy the Bucs “played their butts off,” Curry all but demanded to put this win over Philadelphia in the past.

To be honest I’m not down with hearing vin curry quotes. His line did very little in this game. I’m looking forward to seeing this defensive line come together but until that happens I think they can shut their yap’s

Love the win and love the professionalism and Workman like attitude.

And thats how you do it….next game isnt won yet! Love that mentality!

On the other side our Oline was dominant once again . Them guys can beat anybody in the league and they could take us a long way.

  8. January1979 Says:

Jimmy jack they did a lot more than the vaunted philly defensive line. Going against one of the best offensive lines in the league we had three sacks and had pretty consistent pressure. So not sure what game you were watching.

  9. unbelievable Says:

    @JimmyJack – 100%

Benenoch had some struggles but the overall the o-line is playing at such a higher level compared to last year.

That’s the biggest reason for the offensive success, without question.

You don’t play again until Monday night definitely celebrate what was unthinkable by most but next game all eyes on us, the world will be watching so this is the one to let the world know you are for real. Hope Fitz accuracy continues regardless of Winston coming back

Pittsburg will be a very dangerous team. They’re coming in at 0-2. Remember how at the beginning of the season the pundits were saying if the Bucs started 0-3, which most predicted they would, their season was all but over? Same goes for Pittsburg. They need to win this game more than the Bucs do and they will put it all on the table. However, if the Bucs can just keep attacking, attacking, attacking, as they have the first two games, the home field advantage should help them secure a win.

Cheers mate! Enjoy your well earn grog tonight but come Tuesday you’d better be a sober as a priest. The Steeler are coming in hungry and our defense better be ready. By next Monday it will be back to what have you done for me lately.

A little fun fact for all the die hards.

Was walking back to the employees break room near Bar 76 at the stadium after spending all game taking Egales fans to the First Aid Room from heat and alcohol related issues. Ran into Curry singing “I Love You.” to his baby. I smiled at him as he walk towads the bar carrying his little person…

He said, “We about to go 4 and 0. After that speach (in the locker room?) We A4E GOING 4 AND 0”.

I resisted ingaging in talk and smiled.

So guess what folks… We going 4 and 0 AND THE DEFENCE IS GONNA CARRY US!!!!

Pitt isnt 0-2.. They’re 0-1-1 (a tie) but yeah, they will be playing their a$$ses off! This is one we will have to watch for. Good thing is their D isnt that great.

  19. MadMax Says:

Yo 87, ready for us to be relevant again? We’re doing it so far!!!

  20. Buc1987 Says:

Maxie….I’m not worried how hungry teams are….WE’RE starving for a decade practically!

This Bucs team is taking names and carrying a big mofo stick.

Am I ready? What do you think? I’m starving!

  21. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

Will be another Nawleans. As long as the defense keeps getting the sacks, pressure and turnovers then the offense will have a chance to take this game over

  22. DayOnePaul Says:

The pocket was collapsing around Foles from pla #1 til the end of the game. The sacks are a great measuring stick, but those guys brought it all day long.

  23. martinii Says:

Everybody goes to work happy on Monday. Whoever said that WINNING cures all hate is a profit, but we must maintain a” One game at a time mentality.” Don’t give up on ROJO, His time will come. Great Day in Tampa Bay!

Pittsburgh is the “weakest” of the 3 clubs on the Bucs opening schedule. Note the quotes. They are a proud team with a long tradition of winning. The losing is jamming them. Bucs know it as do long-time fans like me. No, we don’t want or need L. Bell, his ‘tude and other locker room headaches. Our mighty O is doing just fine.

Haha. Get your little pinky out. LET’S CRUSH IT AND PIERCE THE TOAST THIS YEAR!!! LOL
