“I Think It’s A Slam Dunk Ryan Fitzpatrick Keeps Playing”

September 11th, 2018

A segment of Bucs fans may not realize it, but the way Ryan Fitzpatrick guided an offensive beatdown of the Saints, it created what makes many football fans bolt from their house, run down the street screaming at the top of their lungs and hide from in someone’s backyard tool shed.

Drama!

And in the eyes of Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, the drama began once the game ended with the Saints in the Superdome.

The Bucs, per Garafolo, have placed themselves knee-deep into a quarterback controversy.

Drama!

If fact, Garafolo believes in Fitz can repeat what he did in New Orleans, he will be the Bucs’ long-term quarterback. But that’s not to suggest America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, is done with the Bucs.

Feel free to watch the video to hear (and see) Garafolo’s full explanation. He claims to have inside information from within the walls of One Buc Palace.

Personally, Joe is of the mind the Bucs have their quarterback. He just happens to be in the middle of an involuntary vacation.

  1. miken Says:

Breaking: Bucs are appealing Jameis suspension and asking for all 6 games.

  2. miken Says:

Will be interesting to see how this week goes with Fitz and the o line because Philly’s D is nasty. It won’t be a shootout. Our D will need to step up big time and if Fitz runs as much this week he may end up in concusion protocol

  3. Pickgrin Says:

Big Qualifier though – “If this continues”

That’s a hell of an “IF” regarding Fitzy throwing for 400+ yards and 4 TDs with 0 Ints each of the next 2 games…

  4. Alanbucsfan Says:

Great OL play, intense focus on execution by receivers, play calling was great, Fitz was great – Jameis is better than Fitz and will be back game 4.
Fitz will come down to earth next 2 games.
Focus should be on DL getting qb pressure and stopping run – especially against Philly

  5. unbelievable Says:

    LOL.

    No controversy at all.

Like pickgrin said in the previous article, if we end up 3-0 or 4-0 and Fitz is still lighting it up, THEN we may have a controversy.

    Until then, no, just no.

  6. TBB2017 Says:

fitz did a great job on sunday, but people don’t even realize that he isn’t consistent. he’s a journeyman QB for a reason, y’all….

  7. Dewey Selmon Says:

Well played miken, lol. Teammates are calling Lyft to see if anyone there has been groped. Trying to make it a year suspension.

  8. Evolvingbucsfan Says:

What a good dilemma to be in, both quarterbacks can play but if Fitzy is playing good why not….. but are we hindering Jameis’s progression? he played lights out towards the end of the season and in preseason, just hope we don’t cool him down too much if we keep playing Fitzy when he starts his down slope.

  9. Rick Says:

Off topic, sorry, but anyone know the latest on Vita Vea?

  10. Pickgrin Says:

    Rick – “calf injury”….

  11. Phil Says:

Jameis is our quarterback period. Anything else would be stupid.

  12. Fartman Says:

I’ve seen all of Jameis’s games as a pro… he’s had some good games, but he ain’t nevah done Fitz just did. Stay with the hot hand. I’m sure Jameis will get a shot at some point this year.

  13. Bucsfanman Says:

    unbelievable- Agreed. It’s borderline hilarious!
At some point, JW is going to start. You can take that to the bank. The Bucs have too much invested.

Either way, I don’t care who we get this type of production from, as long as we’re winning!

  14. FreeTheSecretWeapon Says:

You play the best players regarless of your feelings…

When JW comes back je starts… Of he sucks he gets pulled IF Fotz shpwed no sogns of sucking himself…

Thats when a controversy would start… Until then… JW is the better of the two jands down.

    Case closed

    @Joe

why did you post this story, when the Sage said it 3 months ago!!!!!!! Its a “Sage” repost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    https://www.joebucsfan.com/2018/06/fitzpatrick-can-win-early-stir-controversy/

the comments are funny now!!!!!! Of course Kobe (liar) faker gets dumbest post of the day, and Nole4JabooANDdBucs gets a point for trying to place the race card!!!!!!!!!!!

    GO Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

Uh pickgrin you said if he gets to 3-0 or 4-0 then we may have a QB controversy. As he is only banned for 3 weeks, if Fitz gets to that 4th game as the starter we will have ourselves a QB controversy already.

  17. pelbuc Says:

OC Monken needs to devise a scheme for Sunday where Fitz gets rid of the ball quikcly like Brees did to our horrid defense. Speaking of horrid defense, I hope someone shows up and covers a receiver and rushes the QB

  18. Pickgrin Says:

    TDTB – I was misquoted.

I said – “If the Fitz led Bucs score 40+ the next 2 games ā€“ then by all means ā€“ let him have that 4th game as well. And if the team is 4-0 heading into the bye week ā€“ you gotta consider riding that horse as long as its galloping.”

    Followed by:
“But lets not have any illusions as to who is the more talented NFL QB between Fitz and Winston”

  19. TeeBeeFan Says:

@TBB2017 You argue that “heā€™s a journeyman QB for a reason.” Not sure I agree. You structure your argument like it is a fact but that is your opinion. I think he is an underappreciated “master” QB. Are there better QBs in the NFL? Sure. But I do think he is one of the better ones and would not lower his talents to classifying them as being “jorneyman.” (I note others may argue that he does not meet the criteria for jorneyman either because he is too inconsistent and thus not reliable.)

  20. PSLBob Says:

As I commented yesterday on one of Joe’s posts – if Fitz wins one of the next two games and doesn’t stink up the other, or if he wins both, he will start against Chicago in Week 4. Jameis will be the starter after the bye week, so they have two weeks to evaluate his readiness and prep him for the Falcons in Week 6. Any wagers?

  21. Dewey Selmon Says:

Lookout for Cameron Brate this week. Held without a catch week 1.

  22. Loyaltotheend Says:

The more I read of the big time media the more I realize they know nothing about the Bucs

  23. BoJim Says:

Maybe wait another game or two? Just thinking out loud. He who wins, plays.

  24. Fartman Says:

I’d like to think this is a Randall Cunningham/Dante Culpepper situation. Randall took over for an injured Culpepper and went 15-1. Culpepper eventually started again.

  25. Doctor Stroud Says:

    Fitzpatrick = Rich Gannon

  28. ATrain Says:

Ok wait a minute Fritz went 10-6 his last year as a starter
    With one real receiver

He hit the long ball twice with DJax Winston has not be able to do that

Iā€™m not ready to call Fritz a starter but if he goes 3-0 moving the ball like that I think there must be some discussion that way

  29. Hawaiian Buc Says:

If he plays like this the next 2 weeks, no team in the NFL would bench him. However, let’s be realistic here. This guy is 35 years old and has been around a while. He’s not going to all of a sudden set the league on fire on a consistent basis. We all tend to get so emotional over one or two games.

  30. Wausa Says:

I knew all these idiots in the media would say this if Fitz played well.

Fitz is a great backup QB and I am all for the Bucs keeping him beyond this year, but it is very obvious that Jamies is the Bucs long term starting QB.

Just remember these are same idiots that said the Bucs were the worst team in the NFL 4 days ago.

  31. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Heh. Watching Monday Night RAW. They made fun of the Saints for losing. Said Drew Brees is tired of playing for rhat filthy town.

    Lol

  32. AlteredEgo Says:

Wausa…If I could post links to 2019 Mock Drafts….it would rock your world
2 have Bucs taking a QB with their #1 pick šŸ™‚

  33. gotbbucs Says:

Too early to tell what may or may not happen. I do know that Fitz had a more flawless game this week than Winston will ever have in his life.
Realistically, Winston probably only would have connected on one of those deep balls and it most likely wouldn’t have been in stride like those were Sunday.
Fitzpatrick is going to have to fall on his face in my opinion to lose the job, and it might do a world of good to actually have Winston stand and watch from the sidelines for a while.
That’s really the biggest tragedy in this whole thing….Winston was sitting at home watching that game instead of holding a clip board on the sideline learning.

  34. BlogTalkFootball Says:

FWIW: In today’s Bleacher Report Power rankings, the Bucs moved up 11 spots to #20 because of the New Orleans beatdown. It just goes to show that nobody sees our team coming… it still wouldn’t surprise me if the Eagles are scrambling to make up a game plan now after realizing that they may have a game this Sunday.

  37. Howard Cosell Says:

At least we know that if Fitz grabs a coochie he’ll ask first

  38. Destinjohnny Says:

    Itā€™s one game
Now if he does this 3 games in a row…..

  39. Rod Munch Says:

“Garafolo believes in Fitz can repeat what he did in New Orleans, he will be the Bucsā€™ long-term quarterback. ”

Well no kidding, if you can get first ballot HOF QB play every week, of course he’s your guy.

Again, people that think this is Fitz’s new bar, that this is what he’s going to do every week, that he’s going to have a 156 QB rating in week 4 – if you think that is going to happen, you haven’t ever watched more than one game of football.

Here’s some data to back that up…

Fitz in 2014 – Week 13 he has 358 yards, 6 TDs and a passer rating of 147.5! That is in a dome as the Houston starting QB…

Next week, Week 14, outdoors, in Jacksonville (against a very bad Jags team, not the current Jags) he puts up the following line… 135 yards, 0 TDs.

Learn your history and prepared. I’d love it if Fitz could play lights out like he did in a dome, but he’s not going to have back to back to back career games, not gonna happen. If I’m wrong, then please, mock me all day and all night, I’ll be more than happy to be mocked all year long as the Bucs ride Fitz to a SB win, because if he plays like he did on Sunday, the team is winning the SB since they will have had by far the best season in the history of football, ever.

  40. deminion Says:

    @Joe & @Everyone

If they stuck with an ineffective and suspended Doug Martin You think they don’t go back to JW3? Fitz has to be Kurt Warner to play the whole season

  41. Howard Cosell Says:

Realistically Howard is a little leery of the Eagles game.
They’ll come in ready and their defense is way better than the Saints…
…and we may have two rookies starting at CB

Doesn’t look good, but at least McCoy will spring for ice cream if we lose

  42. Blue-footed booby Says:

If Ryan Fitzpatrick can get Winston out of Tampa for good I will build a statue of Fitzpatrick and buy his jersey.

  43. Rod Munch Says:

What’s going to be amazing (well predictable) is if Fitz comes out and throws three INTs against the Eagles, all these bandwagon riders ready to put him in the HOF and saying we need to cut Jameis today, all those dolts are going to be saying we need to cut Fitz and play Griffin.

I’m really hoping Fitz plays great on Sunday, I’ve had the Bucs picked to beat the Eagles all offseason as the Bucs win against the Eagles in Tampa, it’s just the way it is – but if Fitz struggles, which is likely considering Matt Ryan looked terrible against this defense, then the lynch mob will be burning him at the stake, because that’s what lynch mobs do.

Also isn’t it odd that in that scenario above we have 3 Ryan’s? We have Ryan Fitzpatrick, we have Ryan Griffin and Matt Ryan.

  44. Tony LA Says:

    Let me get this straight…
So if Fitz replicates the greatest game in his entire 14 year career again in back to back weeks, he gets to start?

    Thatā€™s akin to saying…
If you can just win the lottery twice in a row, then youā€™d be really rich.

Ok, sure. Sounds great. Overreaction Tuesday at its best/worst?

  45. Rod Munch Says:

Blue-footed – Do me a favor and build a statue anyways, then hang yourself from it. LOL!

    God bless.

  46. Defense Rules Says:

@Joe … “Garafolo believes if Fitz can repeat what he did in New Orleans, he will be the Bucsā€™ long-term quarterback. But thatā€™s not to suggest Americaā€™s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, is done with the Bucs.” Those 2 sentences contradict each other Joe. Garafolo seems to be saying that IF Fitz stays as the #1 QB, then Jameis would be satisfied as the #2 & would remain with the Bucs. That I SERIOUSLY doubt. IF the Bucs kept Fitz in as the #1 QB, Jameis would be outta-here as soon as possible IMO. His next year option is what, $21 mil? For a #2 QB? Ya right. And does anyone think the Bucs will franchise-tag him following that to be a #2 QB? Not hardly. With the money Jameis stands to make, he’s a #1 QB … period. It may not be with the Bucs however, if ownership tries to sit him on the bench. Contracts work both ways, and Jameis will eventually have the right-of-refusal.

  47. GhostofSchiano Says:

The next two games are winnable. Eagles have no passing attack, Steelers look terrible.

    We survived the suspension.

    GO BUCS!!!!!!!!!

  48. Frank Pillow Says:

One game at a time- not just hyperbole- let’s see how things go against MUCH better defenses over the next two weeks.

  49. JMW_OHIO Says:

Play fitz as long as he’s playing well. I hope he plays the entire season, Jameis doesn’t maximize the talent around him, he’s a turnover machine, and a distraction. He’s NOT a 100 million dollar QB.

  50. 99.97.92.55.47.40.28.20.7 Says:

Copying my post from last article, since it is even more appropriate for this one:
    #TheAmishRifleIsFree
The QB decision will be made solely based on Koetterā€™s desire to be employed. He will start the QB who gives him the best chance of winning TODAY, followed in consideration by the QB who gives him the best chance of winning over the next 3-4 weeks on a rolling basis. For him to give one iota of care to ā€œdiscoveringā€ if Jameis ā€œhas what it takesā€ for his big contract next year (ā€¦four years inā€¦) is ludicrous. The man is fighting for his income. As I stated months ago before the suspension came to light, I think there is a high likelihood Koetter would have benched Winston coming out of the bye in favor of Fitz if the Bucs started 1-3 or worse. Koetter is in survival mode.
    #FreeTheAmishRifle

  51. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Isn’t this the good kind of controversy?……..Fitz is a capable backup…..Jameis has a huge contract on the line…..I think if this continues, the Bucs get a good deal going forward…….Fitz will command too much for the Bucs to keep next year and Ryan Griffin steps into the backup spot.

Jameis should get the start in Chicago…..I fear if he doesn’t, he may not get the job back….can you begin to imagine if Jameis doesn’t do well after Fitz has done so well?

But….yes….it’s one game at a time…..Let’s see what happens with the Eagles.

  52. Kobe Faker Says:

“Bucs will lose a tough game vs philly but will torch Pitt on MNF”

MNF victory by Monk will get him any Head coach gig in college he wants and put him top 5 HC list next year in the NFL

  53. tickrdr Says:

Does anyone know the world record in the pole vault? Because it seems that many are setting the bar pretty high:

40+ points in each of the next two games and 0 turnovers!
    JW3 would do that easy-peasy ………. right?

    tickrdr

  54. BigMacAttack Says:

I 100% thought Jameis would start in Chicago, but I donā€™t know now. Iā€™m so happy to be wrong because Fitz was that darn good. Who actually thought Fitz would play that well? Has he ever been than good before? I donā€™t think so. If Fitz keeps this up and I see no reason why he canā€™t, you have to let him keep playing. Jameis would be a fool for even wanting to replace Fitz. Jameis has made some great plays and heā€™s had good games, but Jameis has never played that well. If winning is the primary objective, you have to stay with the hot hand. If things go south in the next two weeks, then you look at other options.

  55. tickrdr Says:

Almost forgot: Kudos to miken at the top of the thread! LMAO.

    tickrdr

  56. Wausa Says:

BtW the Falcons have lost pro Bowl linebacker Deion Jones for the season and Pro Bowl Safety Keanu Neal for the season after week one.

Bucs are pretty lucky on the injury front so far.

Hopefully the Bucs will get Vea, Grimes and Hargreaves back soon and Unrein after week 6.

  57. Rod Munch Says:

Has Tampa ever beat the Steelers at home? I’m sure they probably did when the Steelers were terrible for a while, but I don’t seem to recall it. Mike Glennon of course beat the Steelers on the road, but in Tampa, when is the last time they won, I’m not sure and don’t remember them ever beating the Steelers at home.

Also, I’ve pointed this out, but the Bucs are 5-21 in Chicago all-time.

The Bucs meanwhile beat the Eagles at home generally, so I think out of the next 3 that is the game they can win. I hope so anyways. If the Bucs can be 2-2 coming out of the bye week with Winston coming and the hardest part of the schedule behind us, that could be huge.

But the Bucs have to actually win of the next 3 games for that to happen – and while the dolts are putting Fitz in the HOF, the Bucs still need to make it through this upcoming Sunday.

  58. BigMacAttack Says:

35 isnā€™t old, especially for a QB that hasnā€™t seen continuous action. 40 isnā€™t old. 65 is old. 75 is old. Kobeā€™s bs, that is old. šŸ˜‚

  59. Rod Munch Says:

Hey Joe, if you happen to see this and don’t already a tribute ready to go, you should do a tribute to one of the greatest games ever by a corner when Ronde Barber single handedly beat the Eagles in 2006.

When has a corner ever won a game? I don’t mean shutting down a WR or getting a key INT for a TD to win a game, but I mean a corner who was all over the place and scored points and just completely destroyed the other teams offense while being the offense for their team. I know there are obviously other games where that happened, but I can’t think of any. Anyone else let me know if you can think of one for any team.

  60. Kobe Faker Says:

Big Ben is dealing with an injured elbow…

I think our pass rush will have their comingout party

  61. BigMacAttack Says:

The Bucs having wide open receivers isnā€™t a new thing. Having a QB actually have time, see them, and deliver the ball is. Jameis so often will focus on one player and not see the open man until itā€™s too late, especially with DJax. If I have a knock on Jameis itā€™s that he all too often canā€™t find the open receiver. He may complete a nice 10 yard pass but thereā€™s an open man 30 yards downfield that he didnā€™t see. Fitz sure didnā€™t have that problem Sunday.

  62. Godeep66 Says:

Reminds me of that Wizard of Oz song; Dingdong the witch is dead the witch is dead the witch is dead team down the wicked witch is dead. JW is gone and I LOVE IT. I hop the Bucs are smart enough to trade him. We should be able to get a 5th round pick for him.

  63. Rob Says:

This is silly. Fitzpatrick did a hell of a job, and might just get us through this stretch with a winning record, but if he was THIS GOOD, he wouldn’t be on his 7th NFL team.

If the Bucs score 50 points a game, sure they’ll ride with it, but it’s not likely, and Jameis’ upside is infinitely higher than Fitzpatrick’s.

  64. Godeep66 Says:

@milken: great humor. I wish they would keep him out for six games

  65. Defense Rules Says:

@Rod Munch … “Also, Iā€™ve pointed this out, but the Bucs are 5-21 in Chicago all-time.” OK Rod, sing it with me … “But that was yesterday, and yesterday’s gone.” (I think StPete was the one who told me that was sung by Chad & Jeremy). Just keep sayin’ … ‘A New Day Has Dawned’. This TEAM is gonna do some damage, just wait.

  66. Godeep66 Says:

    @rob: your silly

  67. Dan Says:

There both backups at best but I trust Fitz on and off the field more so I say keep Fitz as starter and cut Winston. Heā€™s not even very good. Worse record than Freeman. Thanks Fitz for actually hitting wide open receivers. Unlike JW.

  68. Godeep66 Says:

They would play Ryan Griffey before playing mental midget JW

  69. Wausa Says:

    @Rob

Cut it out with your logic.

Let’s go with crazy talk on those that want to get rid of the best QB the franchise has ever had.

  70. Ed Says:

Philly does have a tremendous defense but the Bucs have something that Atlanta doesnā€™t, young receivers that cannot be covered. OJ Howard is a matchup nightmare and he will become a quarterbacks best friend. His speed and strength are something you just donā€™t see in many tight ends.

Godwin is hands down better than Atlantaā€™s #2 we Sanu. Heā€™s fast and has hands like glue and heā€™s quite strong by the way.

Pick your poison, double Evans and these 2 guys can destroy a secondary.

After Sunday canā€™t count on DJax playing he was roughed up on those 2 catches so if his concussion is really bad donā€™t expect to see him. Godwin and Howard both can get deep so you donā€™t have to change offense just let Godwin run the deep routes.

I believe Mike Evans is stronger than Julio Jones although not in his class yet but hoping he abuses Ronald Darby.

  71. Rod Munch Says:

Defense Rules – Really, you’re one of the people that also think history doesn’t matter? Some teams have other teams numbers, that’s the only reason you’d think the Bucs have a chance against the Eagles – well that and you probably think Nick Foles playing really helps the Bucs since you don’t believe in history.

The Bucs beat Chicago in Tampa, lose on the road.
The Bucs beat Minnesota in Tampa, lose on the road.
The Bucs beat Green Bay in Tampa, lose on the road.
…and to finish out the NFC Central, the Bucs always seem to lose to the stupid Lions in Tampa, and it’s like 50/50 in Detroit.

Those are things you count on. Does that mean it’s 100%? No. But did you watch the Bears-Packers game on Sunday night? The Bears aren’t a pushover and those who have said all offseason that’s an easy W, you don’t know football. If the game was in Tampa, like last year, I think the Bucs win that one. On the road, in Chicago, a place the Bucs hardly ever win, it’s very unlikely the Bucs get the W. So get the W against the Eagles and don’t put all expectations on an easy win in Chicago. Hopefully the Bucs will be 6-21 post Bears game, but to count on that, it’s ridiculous.

  72. Gambelero Says:

Agree with Pickgrin. If youā€™re an NFL coach sitting on the hottest of hot seats, and your QB has thrown for 1251 yards in three games with 12 TDS and no interceptions and is averaging 15 yards per attempt, do you replace him?

    Uh, No!

  73. Rod Munch Says:

Fitz is on pace to pass for 6,672 yards (NFL record), 64 TDs passing (NFL record) plus another 576 yards on the ground and 16 more rushing TDs (NFL record for QB).

    Seems sustainable.

  79. RustyRhinos Says:

“Fitzy throwing for 400+ yards and 4 TDs with 0 Ints each of the next 2 gamesā€¦”
Right on pickgrin! Will the other QB’s on our team be able to repeat that stat line? Against those. BIG SCARY meanies in New Orleans?

  80. stpetebucsfan Says:

    @Bucsfanman

“At some point, JW is going to start. You can take that to the bank. The Bucs have too much invested.”

Exactly. This is NOT an athletic competition for the position at this point…it’s going to be a business decision. We simply must find out what we have in JW.
It’s time to fish or cut bait. I expect #3 to play very well which will make it easier for the Bucs. Fitz will still get the money either from the Bucs or another QB hungry team.

I agree with Big Mac that 35 is not old for the QB position. Joe listed yesterday the guys who blossomed at 35…guys like Rich Gannon who had four pro bowl years in his mid and late 30’s.

This will not be a fair competition…the Bucs NEED JW to start for business reasons although many of us believe it’s their best choice anyway.

Fitz could blossom into a very good QB….#3 could blossom into a great QB…his upside is much higher than Fitz.

  81. webster Says:

    A couple of observations……

I believe someone else is posting under buc1987.

    @ atrain

Fitz last year starting he was 3-8 with 12 tds and 17ints. He was benched for his normal journey man play. Remember he held out because he wanted a big contract. The jets finally caved and obviously that was mistake.

    @ fartman

Cunningham came in for brad johnson not cunningham. Brad johnson left the next year to start for washington while the vikes stayed with cunningham and jeff george

  82. Bob in Valrico Says:

Sorry ,but I will place more stock in the the very recent addition of Kaleel Mack,
than history. It makes it a tougher game, but we still have a more potent offense.Thats why we play the games.

  83. Bob in Valrico Says:

Kaleel Mack was all over the field and gave the already good bear pass rush a big
shot of steroids IMO. Bucs should have the more potent offense. One way to try and combat Mack is inserting Auclaire a bit more at tight end .

  84. webster Says:

I meant cunningham came in for johnson and not daunte. Daunte was not in the league yet.

Kaleel Mack was not on the Bears team all offseason. In fact he was just recently signed. Just like in statistics that’s an extra variable to factor in.

Must be Hockey Season??? When the “Real Tampa Fans Show Up!”

  87. Dapostman Says:

Which ever way the wind blows is the way the talking heads are going. Last Saturday these same guys were leaving Tampa for dead now a lot of them are on the Fitzmagic train well until it derails. Fitzmagic is doing his job perfectly. Winning while mentoring and keep that QB seat hot for when Winston returns. Fitzmagic is good for Winston. Winston wasn’t afforded a mentor. Mike Glennon? What’s he going to teach Winston? Keep winning Fitz. You are doing a fantastic job and I’m sure you are also showing Ryan Griffin the ropes for when he’s ready to back up Jameis.

    #Get After It!

  88. Tc Says:

Keep fitz in until he has a bad game, then bring Jamieā€™s in as the savior. Are you people stupid or what, why all the Jamieā€™s hate?

  89. Tc Says:

Good news for Bucs. Greg Olsen of panthers refractured his foot. Deion Jones of falcons headed to injured reserve

  90. Grafikdetail Says:

Clowns said They had inside info on a Winston and Koetter beef last year that turned out to be totally false

LOL it’s nice to be so appreciated webster.

What do I have to do to convince you it’s me?

Tell you how beautiful I am? That drove Dave Pear nuts….

Listen man….I’m Bucs first. Jameis is too. I said yesterday on here that I’m sure if the team is 3-0 Jameis himself would endorse not taking out Fitz when he comes back. Of course Fitz would have to truly be lighting it up like he did to the Saints. 3 and O webster…..

He’s playing with Winston’s weapons…let him have his fun…and us too!

  92. Buc1987 Says:

Tc…lol we have a few stupid ones here…unless you want to play with them…then play with them…otherwise not worth it.

    87,

You posted a picture of yourself holding up a sign at Ray Jay…
    You ain’t pretty.

  94. MDFree Says:

All this talk about a qb controversy from the mainstream sports media is ridiculous. Fitz is a backup for a reason. The man has been a journeyman for a reason. Fitz did what a backup is paid to do. When your starter goes down, you rely on your backup to perform efficiently enough to win games. Anything else is just a bonus. Next man up. Nothing more, nothing less.

  95. Walter Seidel Says:

FITZ should remain starter. You simply cannot argue with stats, success, and BIG WINS!!!!!! Otherwise, you’re not really a Bucs’ fan….you’re a Winston fan.

  96. Ugandan Knuckles Says:

Fitz has a long history of playing well to win the starting job and then sucking after. Go back to Jameis.

  97. BUC IT Says:

Why are we even writing this article after 1 week? Lets see how it plays out before we make assumptions. If he goes out and leads us to victory this week….. well then I think we got to start thinking about the idea of keeping fitz the starter for a bit.

  98. BUC IT Says:

also keep in mind if Fitz does stay the starter for a while…. I don’t see that as the worse thing for Jameis. It helps him put things in perspective. He put our team in a real bad spot with his stunt. That don’t mean anyone is giving up on him. But if Fitz stays hot…. I’m just not sure you could take him out. Thats a big IF though.

  99. webster Says:

    Walter

Now you want to argue stats but for ever you said stats dont mean anything when jameis supporters brought up stats. Which one is it? Yes fitz won a game when his kicker missed a critical field goal and his defense gave up forty points but that is called luck and no qb puts up 48 on the regular. This whole fan base cried about how the oline sucked for the last 3 years yet u dont want to give the oline credit now? You moaned about the long develooing plays because the line sucked. Fitz still had those long drawn plays but the oline executed like never before. Fitz is who he is and he said it. He said and i quote “ive thrown 6 tds in a game and ive thrown 6 ints in a game.” I see. You only look at the “stats” that fit your argument. Jameis has thrown for 4 tds and this team has still lost. It takes a team an NO…. a 36 year old journeyman is not better than jameis. Stop it

  100. Duke Says:

    Webster,

When Jameis threw 4 TDs, the team won. I don’t know how you can forget since it’s a one time thing.

  101. Tampabucfan88 Says:

@duke remember buffalo he threw 3 td heck he had a bum shoulder and the defense lost him that game
