“FitzMagic Turns FitzTragic”

September 19th, 2018

Enjoy the wave.

Believe in FitzMagic — for now.

That’s the words from Kimberley A. Martin of Yahoo! Sports.

Chug the Kool-Aid. Bask in the sunlight. Enjoy the moment, Martin said, but it is just a matter of time before reality sets in like a cold slap in the face and the dream of Fitz being a Pro Bowl starting quarterback vanishes.

“FitzMagic is a beautiful thing,” Martin said. “He has a way of making you feel anything is possible. You when you say ‘Can Bucs fans believe in it?” Yeah. For right now. You can totally believe in it. Because it will linger and it will last for a little but longer, but it cannot be sustained throughout a whole season. It is impossible.

“FitzMagic turns FitzTragic.”

Joe agrees with riding the hot hand, provided Fitz’s hot hand continues Monday night.

As Bucs tight end Cam Brate said this summer on SiriusXM NFL Radio, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, is a starter for a reason.

  1. Lord Cornelius Says:

way to go out on a limb lol

Of course he isn’t going to average 400 yards passing / 4 TDs a game every week going forward

  2. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Bucs need to tell Fitz privately that they are starting Winston against the Bears no matter what. Whether he wins or loses. Remove any controversy in the mind of their backup.

That will mean no pressure on Fitz this week.

  3. Resurrection of Fitz Says:

Fitz is ruining her fantasy. lol

BTW Fitz got NFC Offensive player of the week again.

  4. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Bonzai

Fitz starts in Chicago, win or lose Monday. I think you and 87 got some of the bad acid, ya’ll be trippin’. In a really weird way.

  5. Robert Says:

LOL same could be said for 99% of the players who are balling.

same could be said for JW’s behavior lol

yeah he hasn’t sexually assaulted anyone for the last year, but…….lol

  6. Godeep66 Says:

I will take Fitzy over Ditzy all day long.

  7. JimmyJack Says:

Yeah yeah yeah. Keep saying its impossible to sustain. It only fuels the fire baby!!!

    GOO BUCS!!!!!!!

  10. VaTom Says:

I hope they eat their words. I’d like to see Fitz have a great season.

  11. SteveK Says:

    Bonzai,

No chance. If Fitz plays well, he keeps playing. Winning football games is the bottom line, not hurting feelings.

  12. Joe Blahak Says:

nice headline, NOT…America’s F*ckup can find employment somewhere else! You guys are going to defend him until he’s back fumbling and stumbling. It’s really about the O-Line play and weapons more than any QB…so, any decent QB can play here. We don’t need that phony, lying “leader”, cut the cord!!!!!

  13. Joe Blahak Says:

    Better than WINstunned…

  14. Fartman Says:

Past does not equal the future, no matter how many pundits parrot it. Fitz has never had weapons like these. Fitz has become a better quarter back, weather Kimberley A. Martin of Yahoo! Sports wants to believe it or not.

  15. Casual Observer Says:

Play the winner (till he loses). A no-brainer.

  16. Pittmans Biceps Says:

Buccaneer Bonzai, you are out of your mind. You’re seriously advocating benching the back-to-back NFC Offensive Player of the week — literally the hottest hand in the league?

What would Fitz have to do to convince you? Return punts? Step in for Hargreaves at nickelback?

In a perverse way, I hope they do bench Fitz for the Bears. Khalil Mack and Company will further expose Jameis’ incompetence and aptitude for turnovers.

  17. martinii Says:

    Buccaneer Bonzai :

I agree 100%, 6 teams, never a full time starter, he is a streak player and I hope he keeps his streak going for a few more games. I too think Koetter and Licht need to be perfectly clear, this is Winstons team. Fitz is no dummy, I believe he fully understand his role with the Buc’s and is having fun with it for as long as it last.

  18. VaTom Says:

I don’t know what’ll happen with Fitz. Undoubtedly he will have bad games. The truth is Winston did not look this sharp in the last two seasons. Maybof his yards car when teams were sitting on leads. Fitz is hitting dudes in stride. Fitz is putting the ball in SAFE places. Fitz is protecting his receivers.

Two changes this yr. Monken calling plays. O line with Jenson. Im not discounting those changes. But Wnston had the same targets last yr and really didn’t impress in big games. Friggin Fitz has beat a hungry New Orleans and a hungry Defending Superbowl chapionship team. And Joe says stick with him IF he beats the Steelers. I say ride him and give him the benefit of the doubt til he has a couple BAD games. What else are you going to do? Put in Winston? What if he has three bad games? Fitz again?

  19. Bucsfanman Says:

What a hack! In other news, water is “tremendously” wet! 🙂

  20. JimmyJack Says:

And for all the morons who think Fitz needs to sustain 400/4 per game……..y’all are about some clueless sacks. It aren’t about stats its about owning command of the offense and winning. Morons

  21. Dapostman Says:

Fitz is playing great but come on. The first pass to DJax was a 35 yard pass. Hardly a bomb and DJax ran the last 40 yards. No defense in the middle of the field. The second to Howard was a 13 yard pass and Howard broke a tackle and took it the remaining 62 yards. The TD to Godwin was a broken coverage. No defender even around him. I hope Fitz keeps it up and he’ll get some good opportunities if the OL holds up as well as it has. To think this is all Fitz is just the anti Winston crowd gloating that it isn’t Jameis doing these things. Change happens fast in the NFL. Winston will get his shot and then there will be silence from the peanut gallery.

    #Get After It!

  22. joestang Says:

sounds like fake news to me. She doesn’t have a clue. If the o-line protects him there is no reason FITZ can’t be successful

  23. The Buc Realist Says:

    @Buc Bonzai

I have to respectfully disagree with you my friend!!!!!!!!!! You have to keep the Fitz Magic in until the hot hand starts to get cold!!!!! And if that is week 9 then it is week 9!!!!!!! But think of this!!!!!! That gives JW3 4 weeks to seat with Fitz and learn why he is making the checks that he is making!!!!! The Bucs will slowly get JW3 back up to speed like they did with training camp!!!!!! I thought that JW3 was the best QB in pre-season!!! But Fitz is on another level right now, and it is an opportunity for JW3 to absorb some of that “Magic”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    #trust the coaches!!!!!!!!!!

    #extend the coaches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    GO BUCS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  24. Robert Says:

Literally no one is saying that needs to happen here…

  26. JimmyJack Says:

Dapostman……on the thirteen yard pass to OJ Fitz called a TO just before. He saw somethingand he called the TO to trade plays. He made that play whether you wanna accept that or not.

Not discrediting ojs break or Chris block

  27. JimmyJack Says:

Lord read through the archives. Or just wait here long enough some moron will show up

  28. Jim Says:

“FitzMagic” is just a demonstration of what any mature, experienced, accurate QB can do with the best receiving corps in football…

  30. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Martitni

“I too think Koetter and Licht need to be perfectly clear, this is Winstons team.”

AT THIS POINT IN TIME, that just isn’t true. I don’t know how long Fitzmagic has, but he has it until it winds down. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so much coverage, POSITIVE coverage of the Bucs in my life.

What a great time to be a Buc fan. The only thing that would make it better would be an awesome D. Who knows, maybe that will come around too.

As far as QB goes, even for this clearly divided fan base, we are in a great position. If you love Fitzpatrick you’re happy. If you love Winston, you have no choice but to love Fitzpatrick for a couple more weeks (at least). So no Pressure, just enjoy winning.

Jw comes back and does awesome–Great, we all have our answer about him… He stinks it up–we all have our answer about him and we might save 20mil next year.

MUCH MUCH bigger concerns are shoring up the Defense and running game….

  31. americasenabler Says:

Joe pull your dress down your agenda is showing 🙂

  32. Sumo Says:

If our coaches are even considering putting in Winston at this point, they really need to think that through. As long as we’re not turning the ball over we will win.

  33. Dapostman Says:

    @Jimmy jack,

Fitz called a time out because the play clock was at 1. He audibled too late. After the time out Fitzpatrick was in the shotgun, under center the previous play, and the Eagles were in a totally different defense. I’m guessing Fitz got a new play from Monken and ran it the way it should be run. Not taking anything away from the play or throw. To think that was all Fitz and that Fitz saw something his silly to me. Please fell free to go back and look at the tape.

  34. Hawk Says:

“… it cannot be sustained throughout a whole season. It is impossible.”
This is THE stupidest statement I have read in a very long time, and I read JBF posters every day. *No one* can sustain a record-setting level of play every week. Montana didn’t, Marino didn’t, Jordan didn’t. Of course it’s not possible. No one (in their right mind) is expecting that. Fitz will have an ‘off’ week, just like everyone else. If teams yank players because they have a bad game, everyone would be playing rookies, every week.
And it’s can’t be the Jameis backers who are saying Fitz will be showing his true colors when he has a bad game, because they know that Jameis has had his share of bad games, and they don’t want him painted with the same brush (logic) that some are using on Fitz.
Fitz and Jameis have the opportunity to shred Buccaneer offensive records (not really difficult) this year. I believe that both will (and should) contribute substantially.

    ———————

And that’s just unbelievably dumb. He goes out on a short week and gets blasted by the best defense in the NFL and looks terrible and EVERYBODY in America will think we made the stupidest mistake in the history of sports. Just way off base here. Not even a single shred of foresight was put into this… unless all of your foresight is on enabling America’s Most Enabled QB further. Start Winston after the bye week against the Falcons at the very earliest and that is only if Fitz has shown signs of struggling.

  36. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Damn Skippy

Ride this wave all the way into the playoffs baby.

    #GOBUCS!

  37. VA BUC Says:

I love to see how dumb some of you buc fans really are lol. At the end of the day Ryan is a back-up QB, he’s doing what his job title requi 23rd es him to do. So to see so many fans thinking this guy is our savior is hilarious now i know it feels so good to be on the other side of the street but lets be real…Fitz taking Jameis spot 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 cmon yall Jameis made a mistake he is not going to be the last person on this team to get in any trouble and face suspensions but to get rid of him or to bench him due to this cute run where on is insanity Jameis is a Franchise QB like it or not he’s not on the bench due to play did any of you watch the pre season he was on fire as well as fitz

  38. JimmyJack Says:

Dapostman….you think its silly if Fitz sees something and changes the play? I got news for ya brother it happens all the time.

And I appreciate your assement of the play. I will admitted my assessment was just copying what the announcer said(not ronde the other guy). I know those guys aren’t perfect but I’ll wager they know a bit more about the game then you or I.

He gave props to Fitz on that play. I’ll take his word.

  39. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Yo Fitz!

Fuk these d*ck ridas! And Keep Doing Ur Thang Son.

  40. Defense Rules Says:

@Kimberley Martin … “it will linger and it will last for a little but longer, but it cannot be sustained throughout a whole season. It is impossible. “FitzMagic turns FitzTragic.”

Got curious and researched who she is Joe. She is a senior NFL writer for Yahoo Sports (I’m sure that’s a ‘Must Read’ site). She “has covered the NFL since 2009. She joined Yahoo Sports in 2018 after a stint as The Washington Post’s Redskins beat writer. The Brooklyn native also has worked as a columnist for The Buffalo News and New York Jets beat writer for Newsday.”

Obviously NOT impressed with her experience nor credentials (Washington Post Sports? Newsday Sports? Buffalo News Sports? Wow!). What I’m wondering more about though is why YOU would even run a downer piece like that. Had to turn to some nondescript writer from New Yawk to cry wolf? The sky might fall, someday.

It’d be hard for ANY NFL QB to sustain the performance Fitz has shown in these first 2 games. (Martin surely won’t win the Nostradamus Award for predicting THAT). But it’d be awesome if folks could just chill and ENJOY THE RIDE … however long it lasts. For heaven’s sake, fans & especially the media need to just be happy that OUR TEAM is doing well through 2 games. ONE GAME AT A TIME please.

  41. VA BUC Says:

This fan base is so silly and sad at the same time i love this team been a fan since 97 been thru ups and downs we finally have a QB thats gonna take up to the promise land a couple games watch have faith the worst thing we can do is turn our backs on Winston trade or release him and for Djac to say what he said was stupid cause Fitz will not be with us as long as you guys wish

  42. Trench War Says:

This media just can’t handle Fitz’s success without putting an asterick on his play because of his career numbers. Like the Commish said, they have to be right about their own stupid predictions that they try to blow up the confidence of the team to get that result. I hope Fitz continues to play well until the squeaky wheels get to Koetter, and Licht. All this “eventually Fitz will come back to earth and play like sh|t like we know he can” crowd is holding their collective breaths and it’s BS. I like winning, and I hope when Jameis is reinserted he plays just as well, but until he does let’s get fully behind Fitz and ignore the jilted media.

  43. VA BUC Says:

@LuvmyBUCS WHEN he starts loosing have that same energy dont want to see any crying #TEAMjameis

  44. JimmyJack Says:

Dapostman…..my comment disappeared but the announcer(not Ronde the other guy) does not agree with your assessment. I know those guys aren’t perfect but I’ll agree with him on that play

  45. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Then you won’t be impressed with anyone’s credentials.

  47. Tackleblockwin Says:

Lol most of the media knows nothing about the Bucs. Only the fans see and know what is going on with this team. Do they even watch the games before writing articles. I think the process of reasesrching before writing articles is a lost practice.

  48. JimmyJack Says:

VA you may be laughing about Fitz taking Winston’s spot but it has already happened. He will be playing in Chicago.

As for the other games? One game at a time baby!!!

On fire? in pre season? Talk about really dumb.

  50. DooshLaRue Says:

You think a HC who was on the hot seat just 2 weeks ago is going to bench his team’s best chance at winning just to keep the Soiled Messiah happy?

    I don’t think so.

I don’t think DK is as crazy about JW as some of you fan boys think.

This is the most exciting offense this team has ever had.

  51. Bigbucfan90 Says:

Winston was also throwing a ton every game due to the lack of a run game when we had a run game Winston went to the pro bowl now with that being said statistics show that Winston’s last five game ms of last season he hit career highs. I think oh have to take in consideration that the oline plays at its best when Marpet and smith play on the left side, Jensen was a great move during the off season and Monken caking plays has been the real highlight this year. I think Winston is going to ball out when he comes back but either way let’s just ride the wave and enjoy some good football!!!!

  52. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Doosh

“I don’t think DK is as crazy about JW as some of you fan boys think.”

  60. TrikiRiki Says:

We would’ve been 0-2 with the pervert at the helm, overthrowing everybody. Keep Fitzy he’s the better QB and the better leader for this team. Playoff here we come baby!!!

  61. JimmyJack Says:

And NPR chimes in and makes his whole town look dumb.

    Nice rep dude

  62. Bucsfanman Says:

Preach LUV! We’re going to give the Steelers even MORE drama after they go home 0-2-1!!!

  63. Defense Rules Says:

@Joe … “Then you won’t be impressed with anyone’s credentials.” Beg to differ Joe. There are LOTS of great analysts out there, and especially some who have played the game and can offer an ‘inside look’. Howie Long is awesome IMO; I love some of his takes on what’s happening. Tony Dungy impresses me also. Ira has a depth of experience & expertise that’s unsurpassed locally IMO. My point earlier was that predictions like that have zero value. Why would she even write that? It could’ve been summarized as “Here Bucs fans, let me dump a bucket of ice-cold water on your hopes & dreams.” After just 2 games Bucs fans finally have something to hope for (maybe even a playoff spot, who knows?). Don’t need any out-of-towners predicting doom-and-gloom for Fitz or this TEAM. One game at a time … and if the train falters down the line, let the coaches deal with it then. HOPEFULLY we’ve got enough depth this year to weather those bumps in the road.

  64. Dapostman Says:

    @Jimmy Jack,

“Play clock winding down and Fitzpatrick uses a timeout. Flag has been thrown. But it looked like Fitzpatrick ran out of time. (Ref says Time out Tampa Bay their first). So Fitzpatricks heads over to the sideline.”

That’s your announcer Kenny Albert description of the play. So it seems to me that you are a FAKE NEWS kinda guy.

You are obtuse to the fact that Fitz tried to audible but TOO LATE so he called a TO. You don’t need a Harvard education to realize that when the play clock is at 1 and you can’t run a play you call TO. That being said Monken gave Fitz a NEW play to run and he ran it. A 13 yard pass to Howard. Howard & Godwin did the rest.

I’m glad you decided to agree with the announcers assessment because your assessment isn’t close and I’ve given you the announcers assessment. In quotes.

  65. Jmarkbuc Says:

We’ve got at least one more week of no QB controversy…we should enjoy it.

Watch out for the Steelers..they’ve got a lot of sh!t going on, and will be looking to right their ship. That and they aren’t taking the Bucs lightly this time.

We really need a win on national TV, before playing the Chicago Mack’s, and the probable QBC that will follow.

  66. Eric Says:

Can’t yank a guy setting NFL records.

Take it one game at a time, keep winning. The Winston thing will work itself out.

He may not get the big contract, but that is on him.

All that said, still believe Jameis would play well, as he did the last quarter of last year and this preseason.

But this guy is on fire, let him keep on going. If it lasts the whole season so be it.

  67. Dreambig Says:

Fitz has a boat load of experience. Some great, some not so great. We as human’s learn. I was a Redskin fan while Brad Johnson was there, then I moved to Tampa the same year he came here. I HATED him, waited every game for his arm to fall apart like it did while when he played for the skins.
His arm never fell apart and we won a super bowl. He was exactly the experienced vet who peeked at the right time for the Bucs. Who says Fitz is not that exact same thing happenig again. No one knows he will fall. Maybe this is his Brad Johnson moment.

  68. JimmyT Says:

She FAILS to mention that FITZ is surrounded by the best WR CORE IN THE NFL & an O LINE THAT HAS ONLY given up ONE SACK to Two Teams w big time pass rushers so YES FITZ WILL KEEP IT GOING

  69. JimmyJack Says:

Jmark this QB controversy should be embrassed and cherished.

There’s not much of a chance we are 2-0 without a QB controversy.

There’s only one tough thing and that’s how Dirk handles his 2 QBs. I think he will be just fine if he is honest with them. Other then that fans can rant and rave all they like……alls I know is I’m kicking my feet up on Sundays ready for some solid football, something I haven’t seen in 15+.

  70. Anonymous Says:

What DK likes about Fitzpatrick most: zero QB-caused turnovers and not ONE forced pass. The Bucs have been in one-score games where a turnover could have been the difference.

Fitz is smart and cool, calm and collected. And based on JW’s track record, JW isn’t so smart.

Too bad, you can’t put Fitzpatrick’s brain, demeanor, calmness and maturity into Winston’s body. Then you’d have something…

My stock with Winston declined when he ate those W’s last season and his teammates just rolled their eyes and looked sheepishly away.

  71. Realbucfan941 Says:

    Couple things,

When she says not sustainable of course it’s not the pace he’s on, it’s the dud games with 6 picks and balls hitting the turf. Happened with him everywhere he’s been. The one exception was the great first jet year…

I also feel you ride the hot hand and the guy whose developed great chemistry with the guys through week 4. After the bye you turn it back over to Jameis a) because he was tearing it up in preseason and b) you need to know what you have for next year and beyond. Listen, do not discount what Monken has done for this team offensively!! After a few weeks d coordinators will adjust and you need a guy who can put the ball in tight windows and scramble to keep plays down field alive. Mad props to Fitz though, he’s done well.

  72. FreeTheSecretWeapon Says:

The savey vet understanding the situation will go down with an injury in Chicago if the Coaches dont do whats right and give JW his baby back…

This Offense was built for him. He has put up every individual statistical number one would dream fo have in its franchise QB…

Stop the crying and throwing Fits over Fitz…

JW will put up EVEN BETTER NUMBERS because he will include Hump and Brate.

Fitz knows the deal… This was explained to everyone in the off-season… DJax needs to TOE THE LINE and STFU

  73. JimmyJack Says:

Realbucfan941…….I understand the need to see Jamie’s play to decide on his future but…….and this is a huge but……..,.Dirk is making the decision and he only has enough time to worry about the present.

Dirk needs to win right now and at any cost so he get a new contract. He cannot be concerned with With stone future over the cost of winning right now.

Besides, I believe they already decided they were staying with Winston in this years draft when they basically had their choice of 4 QBs that got drafted topten.

  74. AlteredEgo Says:

I’m wondering why Joe has not addressed the Uber driver lawsuit that has been reported today:
    http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/09/19/nfls-jameis-winston-sued-over-alleged-groping-incident-with-uber-driver.html

  76. JimmyJack Says:

Free the weapon..,…….I’m sure Fitz does know the deal but I doubt its the deal you think it is.

Go back to the Licht interview during preseason. He all but flat out said the QB position would be a week to week decision.

  77. Cobraboy Says:

Sorry, I’m not buying the “JW will start as soon as he gets back” thing.

One YUGE stat that brings a big smile to DK’s face: no QB turnovers, no forced passes and no holding the ball too long.

The Bucs have won two one-score games. Winston has 59 turnovers in 45 games, 1.3 per game. If track record predicts future results, Winston would have turned the ball over 2-3 times those games.

Does anyone think the Bucs would be 2-0 if they had two or three turnovers against good teams?

I like Winston. I hate his turnovers. It’s refreshing to have a QB that protects the ball.

I hope Winston pays close attention to how a mature QB goes about his job…while carrying the clipboard.

  78. Drunkinybor Says:

I havent done the research. But im willing to bet, Fitz never had this many weapons to play catch with in his entire career. So I think he can keep it going all the way to the..dare I say… Super Bowl…. Go Bucs!!

  79. Fartman Says:

I think you right Cobraboy. I’ve noticed a pattern of Winstons is to hold the ball too long, evade the rush and try to make a big play after its busted. Fitzy not waiting for the play to break down. He’s getting it out quick, and if its not there he’s running or throwing it away.

  80. Trench War Says:

    FTSW

Now, I guess my expectations should be that Jameis will play even better than Fitz?

and then if he doesn’t? then what? ..you’ll have a list of more excuses why he couldn’t? Isn’t that being unfair to Jameis? To expect him to put up the same or better insane #’s that Fitz has. That’s way too much expectations and pressure on him. When Jameis comes back he needs to take care of the ball and produce points. He’s gotta do better than 19 PPG (like 25). That would be a more realistic goal to achieve than chasing Fitz’s insane stats, and it should lead to more wins.

    You a trip man. Lmao

  82. OneBucPerson Says:

Bonzai short of something catastrophic happening on Monday there is no reason to force Jameis back into the starting rotation on a short week against arguably the best defense in football right now, give Week 4 to Fitz and let Jameis get ready to start again when we come back Week 6 against the Falcons.

  83. JimmyJack Says:

OneBuc. If Fitz gets us to 3-0 I’m giving him at least two more games.

That’s just my opinion. It will be interesting to see how Dirk decides. Big decision that could change his career.

  84. DB55 Says:

You guys are funny….slow but funny!!!

Try this if you’re capable of doing so, go to twitter and search for Winston giants and see how many people are asking the giants to trade for Winston. Lol. Talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth.

And these convos really don’t remind anyone of when fans were so excited about Josh McCown and Lovie Smith? rotfl. Seems like the exact same situation to me, Tampa cheering and clamoring for a has-been wash-up who never was.

Either way I’m all for playing Fitz until he gets hurt or wins the SB. My question is who will play QB next year or the year after that? Oh, yea that’s right Tom Brady 2.0 better known as Fitzmagic or better yet Koetter’s hand picked best “pure-passer” on the team Ryan Griffin. Oh man let me stop before I bust a gut.

Boy let me tell you jbf is the best site on the internet where else can you get such outstanding comedy for free? Eddie Murphy ain’t got nothing on ya.

Oh and btw for all you Mariota fan boys FYI his career may very well be over. But hey keep making predictions I need a good laugh on the daily.

    I disagree….

this situation reminds me of the rams and kurt warner…..when trent green went down, folks said stick a folk in them…..vermil said the team would rally around kurt and they did…..week after week the media said this guy cant keep this up and he did all the way to an SB win…..

hell same with brady….when brady was ballin, the media said he cant keep this up…..

    #TUNNELVISION!!!!!…GO BUCS!!!!!!

I beleive in WINNING> Fitz is WINNING. And I’m gettin this feelin he just might pull it off again come Monday night. Even a Wino sticks with a wine that taste good and gives him a buzz.

  89. Etzel Says:

Kurt Warner was new to the league, Fitz has over a decade of film to watch. He is who he is. A ‘hot hand’ does not exist. It’s why Casinos stay open 24/7.

“Lets ride the wave until it crashes”. So, you’re saying the team has to collapse before we change starter? How many bad games is that? You really want to wait til he crashes later in the season, near playoffs ???

  90. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    DB55

Real Ish though. Like I’ve been tellin’ these JW Drumstick Guzzlers.

  92. JimmyJack Says:

DB55……I agree with your post but I have no idea where you would compare Fitzmagic to two guys who never have done anything for this team.

And how are you gonna call the guy a never was when he is sitting here doing it right in front of you? I can give a flying f**k what the guy did for the jets, bills ect. The only things that matter to me is what he does in pewter……..which has been nothing but success.

Whatever he does from here on out is anybody’s guess but he has played his heart out for this team and city, put us in the national spotlight, set this team up to make a playoff run, and set NFL records. I am so proud of the old an it is not even funny. Literally giddy!!!

GT f**k OH calling the guy a never was. Check your baggage at the gates and get ready to wave your Fitzmagic wand!!!!!

    GOO BUCS!!!!!!!

  93. BucEmUp Says:

Only a 100 percent complete idiot would bench Fitz even if they don’t win on Monday night football you keep playing him until it’s obvious he’s burned out. But from what I’ve seen this is no fluke..Fitz is being surgical picking defenses apart. As I have said….at no.point in his entire career has he had weapons or playcalling like this. That little trick doesn’t know what she’s talking about.

Tell ya what with the Steelers being 0 and 2 with Antonio Brown pissed off Mike Smith better get ready. If we want to win this game we HAVE to be able to run the ball down their throats and control the clock.

  94. SOEbuc Says:

I know there’s a ton of bandwagon Bucs fans out there and plenty on this blog every day, but bandwagon Jameis haters?? So many couldn’t wait for week 4 because Jameis was looking so hot in preseason and were crying that we’d be lucky to win one of three of these games with Fitz.

  95. Bob in Valrico Says:

Don’t fix what aint broke. This offense is clicking like never before. We are starting fast and continue to put TD’s on the board throughout the game.
Oh yeah they are touchdowns mostly and an occasional field goal. As much as some want to say Fitz has a track record, so too does Jameis. He has had issues with sluggish starts and turnovers the last two years. The amount of 20 + yard passes have decreased each year from 67 in ’15, 47 in ’16 to 37 in his injury
plagued season. Fitz success highlights what can be done with precision passing,
protecting the ball, a better O LINE, not to mention Montgen’s playcalling.

  96. Realbucfan941 Says:

You guys are funny! Has Fitz had these weapons before? Yeah, last year dodos. He also had TO. In Cincinnati I think ocho cinco and tj. Not sure…but they beat 2 bad teams last year and lost to a decent one with him. Offense averaged like 12 pts. Listen, if you can’t tell the difference between Monken and Dirk calling plays I don’t know what to tell you. The development of OJ and Godwin also factor with all the clean pockets Fitz has had. The Warner comparison is also funny. Warner was early 20s, never had a shot in the NFL until then and was not 36. Anyway Fitz til bye, then Jameis with Fitz off the bench if it goes south.

  97. BuccoDav Says:

I’m not sure why the Joes are getting involved in riling up the QB controversy. I would think the best thing for the Joes is what’s best for the Bucs… But maybe not, controversy sells, I guess.
Why can’t we just enjoy the ride. If it lasts the whole year, great! If it lasts 2 more games, fine, we can move on from there…

  98. BuccaneEric75 Says:

    BucEmUp, Pittsburgh’s not 0-2.

  99. jmarkbuc Says:

When does injury report come out?

  100. Joe Says:

She FAILS to mention that FITZ is surrounded by the best WR CORE IN THE NFL & an O LINE THAT HAS ONLY given up ONE SACK to Two Teams w big time pass rushers

Someone is throwing these dudes the ball.

    jmarkbuc:

This week due to the Monday night football game, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

  102. Tut Says:

Fitz will start week 4 regardless. The bears have a sick pass rush and there is no way they put Jameis in on a short week facing that D-line.

  103. jmarkbuc Says:

    Thanks Joe

  104. Buc1987 Says:

    LUV…you had me cracking up.

I keep maintaining my stance as the biggest Winston (drumstick guzzler?lol) fan yet I don’t want the beard out of there if he/they keep winning…..unless Fitz starts to look like trash and they still win anyways…. which I can’t see that happening.

This team is all about the O as far as I can tell. They can’t cover all of them. We (most ) of us said that when the pieces were starting to be put together. There’s too many of them. I don’t slight Fitz by any means…..but you can’t cover all of them and he’s just dropping back picking his poison. WHICH is what we said Jameis was going to be able to do if you give him time. It was built for him…he’s not there.

We’re all Bucs fans. It’s all about The Beard as far as I’m concerned. I hope fans come to the MNF game from miles around wearing fake beards. What a great atmosphere that would be….

I have Fitz on my desktop wallpaper all blinged out…47 inch old lcd screen.

The Bucs are going 3-0 Joe…..what do ya know?

  105. Anonymous Says:

The team is rallying around him. He has never had weapons like these! Even if he has a stinker 4Int loss. If he comes back with a meh 2TD, 2Int win. He roles on 3-1. It’s all about winning! 4-1…….5-1. You start thinking trade Winston before the trade deadline.
