Time To Eat

Hungry defense.

Food on Kwon’s dime!

The Bucs defense was laugh-out-loud bad last year, specifically the pass defense. Bucs pass rushers (?) were simply allergic to quarterbacks and the secondary resembled Curly Howard dancing a shuffle.

Well, Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht put a stop to this franchise’s decade-long farting session trying to develop a pass rush and added five defensive linemen this offseason, three of them with Super Bowl rings.

You know who has noticed a major difference with the additions? That would be Bucs middle linebacker Kwon Alexander.

In fact, Alexander is so happy with the new additions, he is ready to spring for grub, so he said today after practice in the Bucs’ indoor hut.

“I’m going to take those guys out for dinner,” Alexander said of the defensive line newbies. “They have been doing awesome keeping the o-line off of me. I love those guys to death.

“Those guys are going to get after the quarterback. We are going to get a lot of sacks and a lot of turnovers and they can stop the run too. They set the edge. We are going to do alright.”

This makes Joe smile. We all know how Alexander is a tackling machine. If he is set free to hunt, there are going to be running backs with some very sore ribs the morning after playing the Bucs.

Joe’s only fear is if Alexander has this much room to get up a head of steam, with how the NFL is turning soft, Alexander just might pick up flags and receiver nastygrams from the NFL offices for tackling too hard.

Honestly at this point how is this guy not your favorite player?

Passion is unrivaled. Even with Jameis.

  3. Pickgrin Says:

Kwon – you might want to wait until you get your new deal to spring for dinner for the DLine. Some of those guys are pretty dang big if you didn’t notice. They could probably eat you out of a game check’s worth of dinner at your current salary….

What a fine line players have to balance. They are asked by teams to be fierce and nasty while the league is telling them to be gentle and soft.

sounds like the same message from last year….

    #NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!…#PRESSURESONTHECOACHES!!!!…GO BUCS!!!

    Kwon Alexander “America’s Linebacker”

“Kwonie wants to get paid so badly its getting pathetic. This overrated redhead over pursues plays, hits the wrong gaps and is gullible to all misdirection plays….

He is the #1 target from offensive coords to exploit…

Kwonie the matador creates more holes for runningbacks than their offensive lineman

    mediocre linebacker at best…

HEY GUMP, DONT OVERPAY THIS CHUMP.”

Kwon is the man. He has already given us some amazing moments in his short career here.
I think of the Atlanta game after losing his brother was one of the greatest moments in life I’ve seen.
Also who can forget him almost beheading McCown the year after she sh@t the bed here.
The people that try and say he is expendable or that Beckwith is better have very low football I.Q. in my opinion.
He is the glue, the heart and soul of this defense
He is only going to get better as a leader and i think he learned last year he is the guy that is going to have to lead and call people out.
Genghis Kwon is about to deservedly get paid too!
    Go BUCS!!

I have the same attitude about JPP as I had with Djax last year. Ill give the guy some love when he deserves it.

It turned out with Jackson the way it turns out with most big name free agents we get. We get nothing but a big name guy that everybody gets all excited for, running out to biy his jersey. Then he plays like garbage.

Jackson is nothing to me and so is JPP til he does something in a red jersey. I can give a crap less what he did in a blue jersey.

Dude, either strip sack the Eagles QB in our opener or you are dead to me.

What JimmyJack said…..only make it game one….I hate the Saints.

If Kwon gets a flag for spearing Matty ice or drew Brees into the ground I’m alright with that because then and only then they putfear in opposing QBs joe.and if QBs fear getting sacked by our LBs then they will make foolish decisions and foolish decisions leads to turn overs!!!

  12. JimmyJack Says:

    Ghost….That will work too.

But somebody needs to spark some life into the team at home. Maybe that should be the job of our long tenured players. Very sick and tired of coming out of our home stadium dejected and feeling like I just got kicked in the teeth.

  13. JimmyJack Says:

El Buc…..Im cool with it too. I would love to see nothing more then Kwon to lay a bone jarring hit on another QB, if it has to be a late hit so be it. Just hit them hard enough to hurt or bruise them.

Its qmazing how one or two good hits can change everything.

Ahhh, the season of talk. If talk could win games, the Bucs would be undefeated and Super Bowl champs.

    Kwon Alexander “America’s Linebacker”
    —————

That is a guy I can get behind!

If he is this excited, then I am. The linebackers SHOULD BE the first ones to appreciate DL improvements. Go Bucs!!!

Is that Sapp with the burger?

^^^^^ Burger?? That is a quarter of a cow! 🙂

  18. Americas Qb Says:

Agree Kwon is infectious. Love the way he plays. Tampa is lucky to have him. Excited to see this defense in action!!

  19. Jeffbuc Says:

I like how all the people love Keon as I do. But you are saying he is America’s linebacker. And all of this he should be the face of our franchise. How soon you all forget he served a 4 games suspension his rookie year which we lost all 4 games he missed and didn’t make the playoffs. But he can be forgiven and he is America’s linebacker. Winston’s actions were so egregious to the nfl that he got a lesser punishment of only three games and we should cut him. And joe is ridiculous for calling him America’s qb. I’m sure kwon lied to all of us to when he said he failed the drug test over an energy drink. Just shows how strong the jameis hate is.
