Jameis Apologized To The Team

July 26th, 2018

It happened yesterday.

America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, stood before his teammates as a group and apologized.

He talked about it today before a huge throng of media, at least when it comes to the Tampa market.

“Initially I talked to my teammates first, and yesterday I apologized to them. I don’t want to be a distraction. I just want to be able to focus on this season moving forward,” Jameis said of his talk to the team.

Dirk Koetter acknowledged that Jameis addressed the team as a group and that it was appropriate.

Jameis had plenty more to say and Joe will have it all.

“I should never have put myself in that situation. All I can do is grow and learn from that,” Jameis said of the three-game suspension for inappropriate touching of an Uber driver in March 2016.

First take wasn’t impressed by his words. Nor should anyone be.

  4. LifeOfABucFan Says:

Not impressed with anything he had to say..I just hear him say “again” like 25 times..when asked important questions..

    I can’t stand Jameis…basically, I can’t wait till he goes away…

  6. Jim Says:

For an apology to be sincere it must identify the wrong doing, which in this case is two fold: sexual misconduct and lying to everyone about it. Insincere doesn’t cut it.

  7. Cgmaster Says:

So what Pete? Who cares what first take thinks outside of you? What was he supposed to say exactly? There is nothing he could’ve said that would have appeared people like you. He said exactly what he could say.

  8. Bucnjim Says:

The handling of the situation by Winston is what has the organization upset more than the act itself. There were several opportunities last season where he could have come forward and faced the suspension instead he chose to deny everything. This entire event would be completely over had he just admitted to being drunk and disorderly last year when the season was lost. My guess is his now fired agent gave him terrible advice.

  9. Jman5 Says:

His words were weak and show he can’t own his behavior and admit he was wrong.

  11. Pete I Says:

JW gave the national media another bucket full of words to bash him with. Outside of Tampa he is viewed as a inappropriate monster who has a long history of not respecting women. And even in Tampa it’s a 50/50 split.

Every red Flag that was flying before the draft is still flying today. The Buc’s wasted a first round pick on this mess.

  12. Rich Says:

Let any guy who in the course of his life say that he never “coped a feel” step forward and I’ll say he’s lying…..I’m not saying it’s right but it is something that every guy has done while growing up…..Tom Jones…can you answer this honestly?

  13. Rich Says:

PeteI…can you honestly answer my question?

  14. Pete I Says:

@ Rich – Yes I can answer your question.

  15. Dapostman Says:

If the UBER driver thought this was more of an assault and not a grope don’t you think she would have called the police and not just report him to UBER? I had a female co worker GROPE me and I didn’t call the cops. Actually I liked it but that’s just me.

    Rich

    That argument is beyond weak.

So let me be the first to say that I have never, no matter what my age, copped a feel on a TOTAL STRANGER.

  17. Defense Rules Says:

@Joe … “Jameis had plenty more to say and Joe will have it all.” We can’t wait. Oh wait, yes we can. My bad.

  18. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

“I should never have put myself in that situation.”

Just to clarify, this is not an admission of sexual assault. He probably meant getting intoxicated and being out so late, putting himself into a position where he could be falsely accused.

    @Pete I

No one gives a crap what Pete I is impressed by. Nor should they be. Let’s see, Pete and Walter, no one has been named Pete or Walter in, what, the last 70 years, so let’s just say these guys haven’t changed their opinion about anything since the ’60s.

  20. DB55 Says:

I have the full support of ownership and teammates. The end!

  21. '74 Bucs fan Says:

Rich – stepping forward. Never coped a feel. Not every guy is a jackass.

  22. Pete I Says:

Then why mention it? Also no one has ever been named Anonymous ever.

  23. Reality_43 Says:

    LOL @ Pete the Dragon

I’m sure Jameis was really trying to Impress well ANYBODY.

You say “The Buc’s wasted a first round pick on this mess.” like it just happened.

    What are you slow?

The Bucs will not have wasted a pick on JW until he is gone, and right now that is just a blatant outspoken “WISH” of yours, that as you put it, 50% don’t wanna hear every time you speak.

I’m a Gators fan for life and had ZERO interest in Jameis Winston, but he is my QB now and 52 other players will deserve to win this year, and for that I root for his success.

  24. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

“no one has ever been named Anonymous ever.”

Hahaha. — Pete and I haven’t agreed a lot, but man this is a good zinger. You probably shouldn’t call people (with names) out and then leave your name as “Anonymous.”

  25. stpetebucsfan Says:

    Jameis says…

“I should never have put myself in that situation.”

    BINGO!!!

That is EXACTLY the problem!! Stop with the he/said/she said and the jackwagons who continue to accuse me of grabbing women’s vajayays and copping feels. NO…I’m freaking 70 and I’ve touched plenty of vajajays and had my share of feels….but NEVER without encouragement. Why would you want someone who doesn’t want you? Are the guys making these claims total monsters and bullies? If you’re so ugly you can’t get any then perhaps you have my sympathy. Never been a problem for me nor is it a problem for Jameis.

Just realize what Jameis just said! After his college “career” off the field he should have NEVER put himself in that situation

Bonzai it’s not about legality or “rules”. It’s about teamwork and not putting your mates in a bad spot. Perhaps Jameis finally has figured it out. It’s for damned sure there are plenty of posters here who still haven’t.

Again…I do not know all the posters here but I find it hard to believe that their momma’s didn’t raise them better than to grab a woman’s PRIVATES without her permission….AHEAD of time.

  26. Not there yet Says:

What do ya you lol no media can ever say they get nuggets from a press conference he does, it’s always all fluff no substance. No surprise at all because I got what I’ve come to expect

  27. Pryda... sec147 Says:

LOVE you Jameis!!!!! Not going anywhere soon
