About A Week (At Best)

July 31st, 2018

Update.

Maybe next week Bucs outside linebacker Kendell Beckwith could return to the practice field.

Of course, that is the best-case scenario for the second-year linebacker.

Beckwith is out of action after undergoing surgery on an ankle he broke in a car accident just days before offseason conditioning began in April. Joe caught up with Beckwith after practice today to get an update on his status.

Walking without a noticeable limp, Beckwith told Joe in about a week he will begin running. At that point, the team medical staff will know the next course of action.

If Beckwith is pain-free and his ankle is 100 percent, it is possible he could return to practice by the end of next week. But that may be an unreasonable goal.

Beckwith said the plan is that he can return to practice sometime before the first game of the season. Next week’s running test will give Beckwith a better idea how far along he is.

He’ll like be put on the nif list and will miss the first six to eight weeks of the year.

To be fair to Joe he is a cowboy so it’s tuff to tell if he’s limping.

He will play game 3 preseason and start week 1 for sure.

Pain free and 100%, nope and never will be.

They don’t say cowboy-up for no reason.

keep him out until the last 2 preseason games….let him knock the dust off then….

Personally, I thinks it is a good thing he’s not in. Get Cameron Lynch, Riley Bullough, Devante Bond, Jack Cichy and Adarius Taylor more reps. Hopefully one of them will really step up their game with the opportunity. We already know Beckwith is great.

Lavante David is on his way out the door in a season or so, so we need to start working on finding a replacement (which I think is the reason Licht keeps drafting LBs). Depth cannot hurt either.

Curious.. why would LVD be on his way out ? He’s still by far our best linebacker lol.

I never get how LSU Loses so many games

  8. DRFEELGOOD Says:

LSU loses so many games because they have had ZERO from the QB position in forever. I’m a Bama fan and believe that if they had had a QB in the last 10 years, they could’ve won 1 or 2 titles. As far as this article, Beckwith will be fine for the start of the season as long as he doesn’t injure it again. Bonzai, I agree about the depth getting a shot to develop and I am VERY high on Jack Cichy. I think Jason stole another LB in the draft as he has done with Kwon and Kendall. I also believe Taylor could start for several teams. GO BUCS!!
