Sticks up for teammates.

Gerald McCoy will have you know his teammates are getting the shaft. And he’s not happy about it.

The NFL Network is running its annual “Top 100 Players of 2018.” Votes are cast by NFL players alone.

As of last night, the NFL Network has revealed 80 players with the top 20 coming over the next two weeks.

Thus far, no Bucs player has been included. And aside from possibly Mike Evans or Gerald McCoy, it doesn’t appear any Bucs player will be included. This has GMC irked. So GMC took to Twitter not to complain about his apparent omission, but to lash out in defense of his teammates who he believes are getting dissed.

Joe gets it too. This is what happens when a team only wins five games and woefully underperforms any and all expectations in the previous season.

Should Evans and GMC be on the list? Hell yes. But like in any walk of life, respect is earned and not given. Win games and you get respect. As the one and only Chris “Mad Dog” Russo would say, that’s all there is to it.

It’s hard to be upset over this when your team was 5-11. IMO anyone on a last place defense does not belong. However, Mike is one of the best WRs in the game. I would argue that he’s at least in the top 100 players.

  2. ShutTheBucUp Says:

Mike “The Downfield Assassin” Evans is TOP 20

  3. Dooshlarue Says:

    Just STFU Softie.

  4. The Buc Realist Says:

The fact the GMC is even worried about this is part of the problem!!!!!! She has always been to worried about recognition, meaningless list, balloons and parades!!!!!!!!! She is always on social media fighting (wasting time) about personal accomplishments!!!!!! Would love to see more about “team” !!!!!! But time is just about run out on that!!!!!!!!!!!

#ice cream melts in the heat!!!!!!!

    GO Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Buccernutter Says:

Well let’s put it this way, cam Newton was #25.

That speaks volumes to how ridiculous these rankings are. It’s literally whose name comes to mind and they only do their top 20. It’s a joke as we all know cam has been below average since his mvp season.

I expect us to have 4+ next season. Evans, Jameis, Kwon, jpp, oj, lavonte, McCoy, Grimes, brate, rojo, marpet, Godwin, and Jensen all have legit shots.

  6. Tampabaybucfan Says:

There is absolutely no way that Mike Evans isn’t one of the top 100 players…….this is ridiculous. But, anything that makes Tmax happy is ridiculous.

  7. Lord Cornelius Says:

Seriously I’m so over his obsession with these bullsh1t awards.

You aren’t on the list because your team sucked 4ss and every defense you’ve been the leader of has sucked 4ss throughout your career – other than a spurt of decency in 2016 and a fluke 2010.

That’s what you should give a sh1t about. Why the f*ck does the defense suck year after year?
That’s what fans want to hear you focused on.

That is why tmax’s of the world exist.

  8. Reality-is-a-Beotch Says:

Yet another example of the selfish career loser more worried about meaningless and highly subjective list over the only thing that matters which is on field results. Once again this overrated fraud proves that he has no clue what it takes to be a winner or lead men. Complete and total embarrassment to nfl, Tampa and real men everywhere.

  10. The Buc Realist Says:

Looks like the decline of GMC is being recognized!!!!!! Maybe they saw that Kawann Short DT of Carolina has more sacks the last three years than GMC!!!!!!!

Of course, this was discussed last year!!!!!!!!! OMG……Its and “Realist Repost”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    The Buc Realist Says:

Kudos for DC Coach Smitty!!!!!! That is what good coaches do!!! They protech their players and he was obviously “inflating” a very deflated GMC93!!!!!! He is trying to get the former “face of the franchise”, former “leader of the defense” ready for the season!!! We do need GMC93 at his best this season!!!!

And I really do hope that Big Baker has a great year, but I do not know all about this , ” GMC finally has help” narrative!!! I mean we have seen, free-agents, first rounder draft pick, and draft picks come and go, and no one can say that they had thier “best years” with gmc93!!! That they had infalted stats because they played next to GMC93!!!!!!!

So instead of wrongly saying that GMC93 makes everyone better, Lets all hope that we now have stars on the D-line that will now make GMC93 better!!!!!!

    Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!

  11. Not there yet Says:

See that Joe’s….the fans aren’t questioning his talent, we keep saying this guy doesn’t care about wins and losses he cares about accolades and stats. This is the guy in midseason last year while the team is playing horrible football coming out telling the media he doesn’t want to talk about negativity as if there was anything positive going on. This is the guy Who has nothing to say about losing but upset about something this meaningless? Crappy off-season for him

Know what I love about Lavonte David? He lets everyone else talk about how he was snubbed….but this guy is a cancer. i guess he wants a participation trophy. I would say your better than that but I’d be lying. Just another reason I don’t like you McCoy besides being average

  12. Reality-is-a-Beotch Says:

The blind and delusional optimists worry more about meaningless lists and rankings because they accept losing so easily just like thier failed super hero. Wins and Lombardi trophies are all that matter. When they start throwing parades and handing out rings for meaningless subjective bs lists or rankings then you can cry about a bs list. Gmc has never been a team guy nor does he understand the priorities and sacrifices it takes to be a winner. He should be the first active player enshrined in the bucs ring of underachievement

  13. SOEbuc Says:

  14. Reach87 Says:

A guy notes that his teammates should be recognized and that paints him selfish. That is some funny stuff. Eventually, like all players, Mccoy will depart or retire. But the fact that he earned all that money, earned all those probowls and was widely recognized as arguably the best player on our defense for years and a top 3-4 DT in the entire NFL will remain. Call him out of his name or gender (as a second grader would) all day….won’t change those facts. Sad. Go Bucs!

  15. Anonymous Says:

I love GMC as a player, person and teammate, but come on….put up or shutup at this point. Your teammates get no love because they haven’t accomplished anything.

You want respect? Start dominating offenses and make the highlight reels with sacks and run stuffing.

  16. Reality-is-a-Beotch Says:

He has not shown anything on field in 9 years except for the great first step to nowhere and giving up his booty in run game. I wouldn’t hold my breath this is the year the soft fraud breaks out more likely to break down and go away. That is if the young bucs are lucky.

  17. Pa Privateer Says:

I am sorry, I love GMC, but this team has produced crap on the national stage when it mattered most.

You want recognition? Put up or shut up.

  18. SCBucsFan Says:

Win some games and you’ll get the respect; until then, stay quiet and perform. Kind of like Reality is a TMax – until you have something significant to post be quiet, until you show some brains no one cares what you say.

  19. Bucsfanman Says:

Reach87- Well said! Some act like it’s the DT’s fault that we have permanent residence in the NFC South basement. TEAM game.
I’m hoping that the buffet at the end of the season will be well-stocked with crow. I don’t know why a real “fan” would root for failure of a player or the team they love!

  20. Lamarcus Says:

Gmc is T T T raaaaassshhhhhh. Well if being on the top 100 is more important than being a top team then GMC should take that © off his chest. Even Steven

  21. Lamarcus Says:

U mean his quick first step into Oblivion?

  22. Joel Says:

No player on this team is top 100. List is correct.

  23. Eric Says:

We were five games out of third in a four team division.

How good could any of our guys have played?

Only a wing and a prayer and Jameis ignoring the conservative play call kept us from 4-12.

The question is very much open as to whether we “underachieved” or just suck.

  24. Buc Fan South Tampa Says:

    Win and you’re in

  25. Steven007 Says:

I never see these GMC c-l-i-c-k- b-a-i-t articles fast enough to comment before the trolls trudge through it. As for Trollmax (Reality), your receptive post blueprint is so overused. Somehow his “great first step to nowhere” has resulted in nearly 50 sacks and 20 pass deflections from the DT position. So it’s actually a great first step to somewhere, douche. And you use the word “soft” so much there must be a reason. It must be your repeated exposure to the junior mint barely hanging between your legs. Soft is what happens when you overdo the Jameson and results in your having to pay for strippers as you lovingly and repeatedly remind us.

  26. First Down Tampa Bay Says:

Staying out of the national light is a good thing…

  27. Anonymous Says:

hahhahhahah….should have traded him when his play was higher, hey buddy your team was 5-11 and YOUR defense WAS THE worst in the NFL, look on the CFL top 100 maybe you will get it there, how about just shut up and win some football games to start and the accolades MAY follow, but you are supposed to be playing to win a championship not the NFL Network’s top 100

  28. Bobby Says:

I’m sorry but Bucs fans are some of the stupidest fans on the face of the Earth. Nfl.com just voted GMAC the number 2 DT in the league. he’ll be on the list and so will Mike Evans. Reading the comments on this site is like reading the script to Dumb and Dumber.

  29. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

hahhahhahah….should have traded him when his play was higher, hey buddy your team was 5-11 and YOUR defense WAS THE worst in the NFL, look on the CFL top 100 maybe you will get it there, how about just shut up and win some football games to start and the accolades MAY follow, but you are supposed to be playing to win a championship not the NFL Network’s top 100

    Repost this: GMC A GOD!!

  31. 813bucboi Says:

he’s pissed at top100 but never got pissed at baker…..SMDH….

I remember during HK, baker and GMC laughing it up eating hot dogs on the sideline…..this clown doesn’t care about winning…..he’s perfectly happy losing with a camera in his face….

  32. DB55 Says:

    1. You guys are slow – I’ve always said that. 3 yrs of arguing with me about the ALL-WORLD TUTTI FRUTTI ICE CREAM POP and now you know. Where’s Hawaii? Lol.

    2. You guys are slow – learn to just blindly trust what I say bc I’m never wrong you are just slow.

    3. GMC is a good player, he just has no heart and would be better suited to play RT.

    4. I feel like a proud papa. Finally my children are listening. If only they’d listened to me in 2012 when I said “yo this kid Donald lives in the backfield, if anyone reminds you of Sapp it’s this kid from Pitt”

I’ll just leave this here 🎤

  33. John5 Says:

This list is such utter BS. I’m not going to name some of the jokes they have on it. Especially considering some recent off field issues. But I like it. We were so hyped up and all the attention was on us, and we fell on our faces. Now everyone is hating, we’re the under dogs, not making any top player lists, and it’s time to step it up and fire back. If this doesn’t put a chip on their shoulder, I’m not sure what will.

  34. Phil Says:

After the season the Bucs had last year I wouldn’t have voted for any of them other than Mike Evans. The effort just wasn’t there last year. If they want to be included in the top 100 they are going to have to have a much better effort this year. Hopefully this year we will have a real training camp with hitting. That way our players don’t look stunned when the other team hits them back.

  35. Reality-is-a-Beotch Says:

Little stevie all butt hurt… i dont have to pay for strippers i enjoy paying strippers especially the hypocrite preachers daughters.

Once again attacking comments versus producing a legit argument why your super hero fails to produce when it matters most

  36. Blue-footed booby Says:

I remember a few weeks or so ago that someone told me on this site that Mike Evans was definitely going to make this list and I said that wasn’t so. And I think it was Bonzai who told me that Winston was going to be on this list for sure and I replied with basically saying there’s zero chance in hell that happens. Surprise, it looks like the players around the league are not so high on our players as we think they are.

  37. pick6 Says:

winners get the accolades, period. last place defenses don’t signal the presence of multiple top 100 players, and Mike Evans who was easily our best hope on offense didn’t crack the top 10 in receiving yards or the top 35 in TDs

  38. Not there yet Says:

Lol uh no McCoy knows the truth which is why is posted his tweet at this time. Hahaha th the list isn’t complete which makes me think he doesn’t believe anyone on his team is a top 20 player. Most guys who who Have a legitimatereason to question the list would have the confidence to wait until 100 players have been named…..Worst defense in the NFL in all major categories and he wonders why none of his peers think much of him

Your peers gmc you know the guts who’ve played against you…no media voters this is strictly player voting. So sorry and he still has defenders taking about where he’s ranked and still won’t mention how bad the team was and the fact that he thinks they should be in the conversation

  39. Steven007 Says:

Softie (Trollmax/Reality), saying something over and over doesn’t make it true. But let’s counterpoint. Why don’t YOU tell US how many meaningful wins Aaron Donald (admittedly better than GMC) and Suh (debatable) have? Do you need help? I thought so, counting can hurt, but this one’s easy: according to your own self described definition of meaningful wins, that apparently uber soft twosome of Donalsd and Suh dial up a cumulative donut in the “meaningful win” department. Just like your Snuggy superhero. It’s fun being right. But it’s easy with you.

  40. Bucnjim Says:

Not sure what he is mad about. Is he mad at every other player in the NFL? Not sure exactly how the voting process works, but you would think this would be the most accurate and least political of all the popularity lists.

  41. BigMacAttack Says:

Again, Licht should have traded him. This guy is a problem. We’ll see when the season starts, if he stays healthy that long.

  42. Reality-is-a-Beotch Says:

I could careless about other teams and thier players. It does not justify her failures. It also does not change the fact that gmc led defenses are mentally weak and soft. Gmc leads all bucs captains in the following all time categories blown leads, blowouts, double digit losses and 4th qtr collapses and basement titles… the results and history is not in your favor. Nor can uou rewrite history to justify your live of a proven loser. Face it you have a fancrush on a fraudulent bum who you swallowed his bs hook line and sinker. It happens from time to time to the little people who dont see as clearly as those of who live in reality

  43. Steven007 Says:

Trollmax, you do realize you sound like one of the teachers from the old peanuts cartoons right? Blah blah blah blah blah… That’s pretty much all anyone hears when you blather on with your nonsense. Don’t worry though, I’ll continue to call your soft arse out. And dude, referring to GMC as a her is the height of sixth grade silliness. Grow a pair moron. Raise your game.

  44. Buc believer Says:

GMC shut your pie hole and finally play at the level you have been telling everyone you play with. You are such a loser.

  45. cmurda Says:

Ive been as big of a Winston supporter as any joining the likes of the Joes, etc. Originally I thought the NFL has nothing on JW and not reporting the Uber suspension shouldn’t even warrant a suspension at all. I’m concerned that the NFL has more than we know of that at least suggests he did it. I’ll remain a supporter of JW but if it ends up looking as though he did this, it would change my opinion of him as a man.
