How Hammered Was Jameis?

June 29th, 2018

Connecting the dots.

Very intriguing information here from NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero.

It seems Pelissero either has one helluva source, or someone deeply involved in the investigation into America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, and his hassle with an Uber driver.

Pelissero, based on information he was fed and what was stated in the statements released yesterday by the NFL and by Jameis, connects the dots and leaves little to the imagination.

It sure smells like on the night in question in March 2016, Jameis was so hammered he doesn’t remember a damned thing, per Pelissero. This backs up what was reported last week, that Jameis was drinking with the notorious Ronald Darby and a soon-to-be convicted rapist and became “unruly” and intoxicated.

You can watch Pelissero’s report below and see if you concluded what Joe did.

  1. Walter Seidel Says:

And OK, Joe…so you think the dumb “America’s QB” is benign, and you defend it by saying “well, I’ve been doing it since 2014″ (guess James could say something similar…”well, I’ve been doing it since FSU”)…..It is NOT benign, and it DOES (attempt) to put this LIAR/MOLESTER on a freaking pedestal. Or……tell us……in your mind, what exactly does the “AQ” term confer upon Winston….in your eyes?

  2. Pete I Says:

How hammered was Jameis? Enough So is this the excuse for the uber “hassle?” Is it a hassle again, it was a ” happening ” in the last article. JW the face of the bucs!

  3. Walter Seidel Says:

“Hassle” is laughable. Sexual assault is not a “hassle”.

  4. Doctor Stroud Says:

If the negotiated suspension between the NFL and “Camp Winston” was negotiated down to three games, what was the original number of games?

  5. Lamarcus Says:

    Walter

Let it go. He is Americas Qb whether u like it or not.

Damn I never been hammered until I was blackout mode.

  6. Dewey Selmon Says:

“America’s Groper” knew what he was doing, what’s getting swept under the rug is the homophobic slurs he was yelling out the window.

  7. SC Bucs Fan Says:

Joe is just saying these things to show its his sandbox, his ball and he makes the rules. He can do what he wants – kind of like JW.

  8. Jmarkbuc Says:

I was hammered is the oldest, lamest excuse in the book..

He wasn’t too hammered to want to get something to eat at the drive thru…he wasn’t blacked out while he was ordering his chimichangas..

  9. mark2001 Says:

Nice friends that would see you so hammered you didn’t know your own name, would throw you in a Uber cab, and go back to partying…not even bother to make sure you made it back to the hotel and your room safely.

Jameis…newsflash…these guys don’t give a flying F about you. Time to ditch those fair weather jokers.

  10. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    and a soon-to-be convicted rapist.
Joe….why do you never mention Brandon Banks’ name…..do you think that mitigates the “hassle”? For all of you who are wondering who the infamous third passenger was….it was Banks…
Look him up.Joe has written about Banks multiple times, and we still have no clear evidence of Banks’ role, other than his lawyer’s statement while Banks sits in jail. We don’t know if he was/is friends with Jameis, if Jameis knew who he was that, etc. You assume a lot. –Joe

  11. Coburn Says:

No excuse for that. He’s a professional now who should be taking care of his body and has a certain image to uphold. Black out drunk is for dumb kids still in school. Especially in the age of social media where anything uploaded by anyone can be used against you by employer or future employer.

  12. Roy T. Buford Says:

Got it. Think most have had nights like that, especially in our younger days. Done things we regret, though the vast majority don’t commit sex crimes or other felonies. I don’t think JW has had many nights like that with booze, as I have never heard of drinking, and I don’t think he has a drinking problem. But that does not make what he did okay. But given the proven liar he is, a con artist, a man not to be trusted, I also think his statement suggested it was the alcohol, not him–he is using that as his scapegoat. Like “Oh, well he was just drunk.” But he wasn’t hammered for continuous cover-ups since this came out since November (I hope so anyway). Man is just dishonest…not a leader, and not that good as a football player. Not worth the baggage.

  13. Joe Blahak Says:

this site is screwed…backing this a-hole no matter what, making excuses that it was the alcohol….a drunk never lies…his character did it

  14. DBS Says:

And they also said on the show that the players he hangs out with on his team will know if he is telling the truth. Has he or has he not stopped drinking. Would be nice to know if he has told the truth. But I know they will not tell us.

  15. mark2001 Says:

You guys have the driver all wrong. So what would have happened to “hammered out of his mind” Jameis if she dumped him in a bad part of town after he groped her? With his nice clothes, watch, phone and such. He might not have ever made it out alive. At least she acted like a professional and got him to his destination.

  16. TakeYourVitaMen Says:

just cut him. do it. have a pair. JW aint nothing special.

  17. BFFL Says:

People are overreacting. The NFL is loaded with womanizers and partiers. Yes JW was wrong for drinking and groping but at least he stopped after she said hell no. I hope he is maturing and as a former Glennon Mober and MM supporter I now support JW and willing to give him the benefit of doubt when he says he stopped drinking and will seek counselling.

  18. Bucs Fan #7423 Says:

I’ve been a big Jamies supporter and standing up for him since the beginning, but after this BS… if he doesn’t take us to the playoffs this year or show DRAMATIC improvement, I’m done with him.

This guy is a little boy, still making the same mistakes and bringing shame to real buccaneers fans.

    THE NFL SAID:
The NFL “concluded that Winston violated the personal conduct policy by touching the driver in an inappropriate and sexual manner without her consent and that disciplinary action was necessary and appropriate.”

    JAMIES SAID:
“First and foremost, I would like to say I’m sorry to the Uber driver for the position I put you in. It is uncharacteristic of me and I genuinely apologize,”

IT’S OBVIOUS HE DID IT AND LIED ABOUT IT!!!!

  19. Durango 95 Says:

We know he got drunk and we know that he lied. I wonder percent of the population have done the same.

  20. mark2001 Says:

BFFL…”at least he stopped”? Yeah…. at least he isn’t going to prison for a decade. And you think she wouldn’t have had a test to prove it had happened? I don’t get some of you guys saying things like at least he stopped. Regardless of the football issue, yeah, I’m sure Jameis is glad he isn’t going to prison with Banks for a decade.

  21. Robert Says:

you don’t black out when you call an uber…you find the nearest cold concrete, grass or whatever and pass the F out.

if your sober enough to call an uber, you aint blackin out. BS, just like every other excuse.

  22. TakeYourVitaMen Says:

CUT THE LYING PILE OF DUNG. Who are you more committed to GLAZERS?
This lying POS or your fans? CUT JW

You clearly are not reading the articles or are a victim of selective reading.

  24. BrianBucs Says:

Using alcohol as an excuse for doing something terrible just makes things even worse

  25. Durango 95 Says:

He never said he groped her. He apologized for her putting her in that position and spoke directly about his alcohol abuse. He’s denied groping her and the league has yet to present a shred of evidence to contradict that.

  26. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Allegedly, Jameis knew enough to yell out the window at people and to instruct the driver to stop at a Mexican restaurant…..of course, I’ve done that before and didn’t remember….but that’s me.

  27. Jmarkbuc Says:

Nah, “America’s Groper” is still Donald Trump

  30. Walter Seidel Says:

Hey Lamarcus…..no matter how many times Joe (or you) declare Jameis to be “America’s QB”…….he ain’t. Period. I’d LOVE to see a poll right now on how many of Joe’s readers agree that Winston should be called “America’s QB”….I’ll put the over/under at 6%

  31. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Durango

In his letter advising Winston of the suspension, Jones stated after full consideration of the record, including a meeting with Winston and his representatives, and a written submission by his attorneys, that the driver’s account of the incident was consistent and credible

    How do you read that?

  32. Jse0404 Says:

Joe is as big of a dirtbag as Jameis for continuing to refer to sexual assault as a hassle. He did the same thing with the rape of the FSU girl but I forgot the shameful terminology he used for that. It would be a shame for Joe to have to explain his terminology to the father of the FSU girl and the Uber driver. But Joe gets to sit behind a key board and make these horrible statements with no repercussions much like Winston.
Great example of hyperbole here. “Statements” Have you read Joe say Jameis isn’t guilty of any wrongdoing? Not sure why it’s apparently enjoyable to make things up.–Joe
Just like every Bucs fan should stop spending their money on the Bucs until Winston is released all traffic to this website should stop. [Remainder deleted for malicous commentary against Joe’s business].–Joe

  33. Robert Says:

oh, how times have changed. seems everyone used to defend him. this thing just changed most (except the morally depraved) peoples opinion….or at least removed any doubt this guys is a psycho. and thats the best you can say about him. it also lets us know where certain sites stand on the subject. head-meet hole in sand.

  36. Jmarkbuc Says:

Let’s take it one step further

including a meeting with Winston and his representatives, and a written submission by his attorneys, that the driver’s account of the incident was consistent and credible

Doesn’t sound like he was blacked out, or didn’t remember. It reads like his attorney’s gave a written submission that he did it, and remembered it.

  37. Mike Johnson Says:

I’m kinda glad this has all been flushed out into the open. If jameis has a problem mentally with women and drinking, then lets get it taken care of. There is outstanding counseling and Psych counseling available these days. And innocent or guilty, even the biggest jameis supporter sees..Jameis has got some kind of..mental tick goin on. Its just to many incidents and outburst relating to bad women behavior. On the other side, Bucs are getting quite a bit of negative publicity nationally. Not good. Now the real pressure starts. Jameis is under even a bigger microscope now. We shall truly see the real jameis come out. Good..or Bad. The best way to answer all of this is..Performance. Win and the memory get short. Lose and they say..Uah Huh..I told you he was a loser!

  38. Robert Says:

counseling, real jameis come out?? WTF?????

he can get counseling at Raiford

  39. Tampabaybucfan Says:

What you refer to as the “medical” part of the definition has applications and is accepted to use in non-medical situations. Feel free to ask people you trust. Again, Joe really has no time to invest fighting off malicious attacks on Joe’s credibility. You have done this kind of thing many times. There is so much more you can comment about.–Joe

  40. Durango 95 Says:

    @jmark

How do I read that? I read it for what is; a chacterization and nothing more. Where’s the underlying facts that would support that?

  41. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Pittsburgh forgave Big Ben. All Winston has to do is win.

  42. Anonymous Says:

Well it’s a characterization reached after meeting with Winston, his attorney’s, and their written submission of what happened that night?

So if he didn’t, what position did he put her in?

  43. tval Says:

@ Durango..THERE ARE NONE!!! fake news AT ITS FINEST!! LOL!! Haters interpret what they will..he LOVES TRUMP…GUARANTEED!! 🙂 I can smell a rat that REFUSES to clean his OWN house and blames jameis for his own misery.. This site is loaded with these “men”.

  44. Buc407 Says:

Yea all these guys piling on Jamie’s….I’m sure you all are just perfect saints your entire life…some criticism is definitely warranted…but to roast this guy over a mistake on a drunken night that no one knows what really happened that night is crazy. Let it play out see how he plays this year and then make a decision… cooler heads prevail!

  45. BigMacAttack Says:

Joe you may want to take out the trash. It’s starting to stink in here. Js

  46. stvcl Says:

Got to admit I’ve done some sheet I’m mightily ashamed of while drinking. I’ve also been so drunk I don’t remember things. No way I can say that he’s lying when he says he doesn’t remember. This may have a lot to do with him getting ONLY a 3 games suspension rather than 6. Got to give him the benefit of the doubt.

  47. Pickgrin Says:

Alcohol is a hell of a drug!

Kudos to Winston for recognizing that alcohol is a substance that he should just flat out avoid moving forward and for having stuck to that personal abstinence policy for some time now reportedly.

  48. BigMacAttack Says:

Joe, I bet in the last two weeks your numbers are through the roof 😂.

  49. Anonymous Says:

    Well Durango

Apparently his own attorney’s gave a written submission that her account was consistent and credible. Because Lord knows, Jameis, wouldn’t say it out loud.

The “characterization” is apparently consistent and credible.

  50. Nole4JabooANDdBucs Says:

Jameis problem is he is an athlete not a drinker! So his tolerance level is low 2yrs ago he was trying to drink and have fun with his buddies!
He is not afforded the same latitude as Ben or Farve doesn’t take a genius to figure out why🤔
HE WAS HAMMERED DOESN’T REMEMBER, but according to her didn’t force himself on her and backed off! If that was true he still had enough restraint to know try to force jimself on her, like some men I’ve known…the alcohol would have enpowered him.

So “MORAL MILITIA” why do you ACTUALLY protest so loudly? Is it the supposed accusation or Jameis you don’t like?

  51. Durango 95 Says:

    @anonymous

Sigh. How many times do you need to be told? Jameis was drunk off his ass, that’s the position he put her in. He linked it in his own statement as well.

  52. Joseph Mamma Says:

  57. BigMacAttack Says:

Bill Bilichick called and said he’ll take Jameis and a 4’th round pick if they want to let him go. 😝

  58. Pat Says:

After watching the above report it is clear that the Bucs plan to roll with Jameis moving forward. The reporter mentioned how he has spoken to people in the organization. Jameis Winston is going nowhere. At least, that is how I heard this guy’s report.

  59. Jmarkbuc Says:

HE WAS HAMMERED DOESN’T REMEMBER, but according to her didn’t force himself on her and backed off! If that was true he still had enough restraint to know try to force jimself on her, like some men I’ve known…the alcohol would have enpowered him.

That seems like a totally contradictory statement

  60. chris Says:

I’m a little confused why so many people want to ditch JW for this? Sounds like he was drunk and got handsy with an Uber driver. That is absolutely not OK and it’s totally inappropriate. He is getting disciplined for it by the NFL and may even face some legal bills because of it down the road.

He should also get fired from his job for this? If anyone else did this in their private life, they almost certainly would not got fired from their jobs. If everyone gets fired for making poor decisions when they are drinking too much then a LOT of people would be fired in our society. I just think this calling for his head stuff is a bit dramatic. But I guess as a society we love drama- whether it is real or made up.

  61. BigMacAttack Says:

Sean Peyton called and said he’ll give the Bucs a 4’th round pick for Jameis

  62. fritz50 Says:

Ever mind, I can tell that none of you have ever lied about a transgression, or committed one close to this bad! I guess Jesus has a LOT of competition. I suppose the forgiveness that he taught was just a bunch of hooie, and you guys, including Jones, just know better, right? Bunch’a hypocrites. At least

  63. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

“Pittsburgh forgave Big Ben. All Winston has to do is win.”

With you Eric, but it’s important to add that that he also needs to show again that he truly is a better person. — I believe he will do both right here in Tampa Bay.

If he truly has the good heart that I still think he has, and wants to do good things…………. he just has to prove it…. to ALL of us.

  64. BigMacAttack Says:

The Giants called and said let us know when you’re ready to cut Jameis.

  65. Marine Buc Says:

When compared to President Bill Clinton, Jamie’s Winston is a saint. The Bucs and their dwindling fan base need to suck it up and weather this storm. We all knew the risk when we picked Winston #1 overall. However a large percentage of Bucs fans didn’t seem to care back then. He is here. It’s too late to turn back. He has no trade value and he is the best ball spinner we have had in a long time. Shut up. Suck it up. Let’s move on.

  66. Nick2 Says:

Looks like we have the holier than though moral majority joining together to rid tampa of the scourge that is Jameis Winston. I just hope all of you that are so squeaky clean don’t have some skeletons we can judge you on. Wow did the Baptist Church just get out or are all of the morally untouchable people all jumping onlinie again. The guy screwed up and yes its not good and yes if anything else happens such as this he is banned from the NFL and maybe the Glazers cut ties with him but he did not rape anyone and he did not cause bodily harm to anyone. What about Ben Roethlisberger who did. Why aren’t you on the Steelers fan website every day. He allegedly did rape at least one woman and we have heard nothing from any of you all. What a joke.

  67. BigMacAttack Says:

The New York Yankees called and asked what’s up with Jameis.

  68. shane247 Says:

What I find most interesting is that most of the people posting and trying to persecute this young man are all angels, and were mature grow adults at the ripe age of 22. I suppose none of you have ever drank too much, acted stupid or did things you regret. I know I personally have and it’s a good thing I grew up in an age when everything wasn’t being caught on camera or posted on Youtube.

It seems you hold 22yr old football players to a higher standard then you do yourselves. Make no mistake, I’m not saying what he did is OK. I’m saying no one knows exactly what happened and how it all went down. The reality is, it was a dumb decision made by a 22yr old who had too much to drink. How many people have drank too much and went home with someone they never would have had they been sober. Hell, I bet there are people on this site who have done that & don’t even remember sleeping with someone after a night of drinking!

The point is, he’s just a kid! If kids have proven anything, it’s that they make bad decisions. Studies have shown that the cerebral cortex (the reasoning portion of your brain) in young adults does not fully develop until the age of 25. Again, none of this excuses his behavior, it’s just something to consider.

Is this level of hate justified? Would you want your kid treated this way? Would you want society to wash their hands of him or her? No, you’d hope that they would understand that it was a 22yr old and that they have a lot of growing up to do.

No, you only posted the part of the paragraph you wanted us to see. Read the whole paragraph and it says that the meeting/statement from Jameis was a PART of why they felt she was truthful and he was lying. That has nothing to do with remembering anything. If he said there were 3 guys in the car and cell records show that he was alone, then you know he’s lying. He doesn’t have to admit anything at that point and they already know he’s covering up something.

  70. simeon 97 Says:

Joe, in addition to the coaches and GM, this unfortunately impacts you as well. I’ll be hanging up my bucs fan card if Jameis sees another snap on this team. While I love this site, i’ll have no need for it. What he did was terrible, coupled with his past transgressions there is no question that he should be gone.

IMO, you should also try as hard as you can to report on this as objectively as possible.

  72. Robert Says:

  74. MTM Says:

The Glazers just need to trade Winston for the high round draft picks. This is who he is. Why in god name didn’t Licht draft a late round QB for Koetter to groom. The Bucs are notorious in the last few years of starting the season with a huge question mark that was never addressed in the off season. They knew this investigation was going on. This is just sh*tty management from both the Glazers and Licht. WTF.

Amazing This is the same back in forth involving Winston

It was in drafting him because fans didn’t like his off field junk

And chris, this whole being fired from your job comparison is unbelievably laughable! Hes a multi mill$$$$ high profile football player in the cameras eye! But even if he was a janitor at a school and grabbed a teacher or students crotch, theres consequences. It is what it is.

And then on top of it he’s lying and trying to cover it up? the fk out of here man…

Im done….pursue Foles!!!! throw a 1st and 2nd plus jw3…..and even GMC if needed…..DONE WITH THIS JIT!!!!!!!!!!!

  82. danr Says:

just as a headsup guys. benign is used many times in a non-medical situation. It implies something is non threatening, or has no real impact. A decision made that is not insulting can be called ‘benign’. (like little of what trump says.)Infact it was non-medical word first.

Joe- I get why you use americas quarterback- no other qb recently can drum up and stir up america while being on such a off the radar team. Dallas is americas team, but still had michael irving and TO

applying the moniker “america’s” does not imply wholesomeness or being liked even. I hate ‘americas pastime’ but that doesn’t change that it is america’s pasttime.

  83. Robert Says:

to be fair madmax, some of us where done when they drafted him. after the tape of the 1st incident disappeared we, meaning me, were not going to support the organization. I want him gone so i can renew my dish subscription and root for the bucs again.

I’m not the face of an NFL franchise. I wasn’t accused of raping anyone. I wasn’t suspended for sexual groping an UBER driver. The list goes on…I don’t have to be a Saint to know JW is human trash. I hope they cut him.

  88. Nick2 Says:

Please to all those leaving as Bucs fans because of Jameis go now and don’t let the damn door hit you on the way out. Please just go we don’t care and nobody else will either.

What Ben did that for sure was a METOO crime so what is the difference? Ben wasn’t on a crappy team who let him play after the 2nd game hurt and skin pigment is more favorable…so he has earned a get out of jail free card!

Some of you who protest so loudly, if not you it can happen to your young adult while they grow into Brady “deflate gate” Farve, and Big Ben!

Man, if the Bucs woulda known anything like this was coming down, they would have been able to take rosen with the Vita pick and had some insurance. I guess the front office follows gilhealy and believed his version.

  93. gambelero Says:

So, I’m still trying to fast, so I only read Pickgrin and MJohnson’s comments. Totally agree with them. And I want to add that if this incident occurred 28 months ago, and he (1) quit drinking, (2) made a commit to settle down and get married and (3) threw himself wholeheartedly into being a better person, then he’s already shown he’s worthy of a conditional forgiveness and redeemable.

I’m having trouble keeping my “not reading any more idiots’ comments” fast for just one day. Jameis has kept up with his for 28 months.

  94. gambelero Says:

Okay, so I read DSelmon’s post too. And unfortunately agree with him too.

I downloaded the Word Replacement addon for Chrome and now America’s Quarterback says NOT America’s Quarterback Joe’s a retard! 🙂

Yes, coming from a guy who uses the handle “dbagsy.” What an intellectual you are.

  96. Frank Pillow Says:

Nice to see Jameis take the stand-up stance here- after blaming Kate for mistaking his identity- and going with the old “fog of booze” defense. #faceofthefranchise

  97. D-Rome Says:

I can honestly say for all the times I’ve been hammered I’ve always remember what I did, where I was, and how I ended up there.

I downloaded the Word Replacement addon for Chrome and now America’s Quarterback says NOT America’s Quarterback

I’ll have to check out that add-on. There’s a few posters on here that I’d like to change their names. Speaking of which….

Where is TMax? I kinda miss him. I was hoping to see how he would spin this story into a Cancer93 take.

  98. BucJim Says:

Everyone on here who says to get rid of Jameis but still supports Trymp is a HYPOCRITE! He can be my President but not my QB? He can represent the Nation but not my city? GTFO

  99. JameisNOT Says:

It’s funny to hear you clowns still believing that this bigger clown can change. Morals and ethics are engrained by the time you are a teenager. This dirt bag will continue to harm the organization. Cut him now. He got away with this stuff in college and now thinks he is invincible. Think of it this way: what if it were your daughter who was the Uber driver???

  100. firethecannons Says:

Jameis need to play lights out otherwise it is over. I read about Rothlisberger deeds–that dude did WAY WORSE–maybe he was a better player than but he raped two women and there was evidence to be had.

  101. Dapostman Says:

Not to make light of the JW situation but has anybody considered that JW was reaching for his taco that night since they did go through a Mexican restaurant? Just a thought.

  102. ATrain Says:

    THIS IS A BUCS SITE

We get it you don’t like the President

Did you kick Clinton out of office too

    Ok. This is BUCS TALK

  103. Dapostman Says:

Joe, can’t you do something about the idiots who bring Trump into every post?

  104. Tampaspicer Says:

Slick Willy was a baller in the oval office. Him, Monica, and a c gar.

  106. HomerSimpsonRocks Says:

I call BS. Here’s why: months ago JW claimed that there were 3 people in the car and he was in the back, and failed to mention that there was a second rude at 2am. He and others are now claiming he was so drunk he simply forgot thwvsecind ride. It’s BS because when you ride with Uber they always send you an email receipt of your ride, with time, date, route, price and the drivers name and a photo of the driver. “How was your ride with Kate?”

He would have had all this info at the time he issued his initial damage control statement that the Uber driver was confused to the number of riders. Bunk. That was a pathetic attempt at misdirection. Even if he has been so drunk as to have no memory, it doesn’t absolve him of guilt, nor explain away his obvious lie in the face of the documentation from Uber he would have received for ALL of his rides that night.

    Cut the miscreant.

T Rex. If you are not perfect then how can you post that? That don’t give nobody the right to do what they want and I know that you have touch a woman own her but before and she said stop. So all y’all trying call Winston a sexual predator when you did the same thing n I mean every man on this site have when they were young. It don’t matter if you are a franchise quarter back or not . So y’all need to stop trying act like y’all never did that before. And this will be my last time talking about this. All y’all need to just tell the truth that y’all did the same thing. I’m still backing Winston and we still don’t know if Winston did anything wrong. When did the NFL every made a deal with a player. This was a take 1 for the team . Go bucs
