“It Is Going To Be Real”

March 24th, 2018

Reason to smile.

Music to the ears of Bucs fans.

Last night new Bucs defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul made an appearance on “Total Access” seen on NFL Network and had a few words to say about the new look Bucs defensive line.

“It is going to be a beast,” JPP said. “It is going to be real.”

JPP said he cannot wait to start OTAs so he can establish a new order with the Bucs and the defensive front line.

You can see the spot in the NFL Network video below.

Maybe a put your head down and work kind of guy is what we need.

  2. richardtyson Says:

Now we can draft Shaquem Griffin in the 4th round and get all hands on deck.
    Go Bucs!

  3. Alan Says:

The bucs need to so something big in this draft to blow up the NFL like some how get Barkley

  4. Lunchbox Says:

    @richardtyson
That’s cold man. Funny, but cold. That said, if we could get Griffin, that’d be awesome. I’ll bet he won’t be there in the 4th though. After the combine, I bet he goes late 2nd/early 3rd

  5. BigMacAttack Says:

Talk is cheap. Sick of all the same talk every offseason. We’re going to do this and that. Blah blah blah. Shut the hell up. Let your play do your talking on the field. The Buc players have been some of the best at running their sux, and never backing it up. The Giants were worse than the Bucs. More of the same in 2018’. 3-5 wins maybe. Half of them will sit out camp with hang nails and foot fungus. I want to see the results, but as of now this team is still a complete joke and Koetter is lost. Js

  6. Lunchbox Says:

    @Alan
Barkley would be ideal, but I’d be just as happy with Guice, or Penny later. Or we could take Ward at 7, if Nelson, Chubb and Barkley are gone. I’d be happy with Josh Jackson at 7 too, but we could probably trade back a bit and still get him. RB and CB are probably our two most glaring weaknesses now. I wouldn’t be opposed to Jackson/Ward at 7, Will Hernandez with our 2nd, and trading back into the 3rd for Penny

  7. gambelero Says:

I’d like to see them do something really huge this draft, like trading to the best offer from Miami, Buffalo and Arizona. With Buffalo’s 12 and 22, you really get an 8 and 18. One of James, Vea, Fitzpatrick mathematically have to be there at 8 if the two beastly linebackers go ahead of us, two if linebackers and McGlinchy go ahead of us.

Michel, Guice, Wynn, Davenport, etc. still there at 22. Possible a James falls to 22 as 5-6 QBs go in the top twenty.

  8. JimmyJack Says:

Dang, you don’t hear many guys talk like that. DUde sounds like he is looking forward to training camp. He kinda just established himself as the leader from our D-Line group.

  9. ATrain Says:

JPP is saying the DLine has to work

I bet JPP will not say We Were Flat Today

By the way GMC get run down the line in the second play of that video by one guy

  10. Buc believer Says:

Let’s hope JPP can finally establish the dominant force that GMC has never been able or willing to do. We will see how long GMC will be able to stand the heat before he gets “hurt” or demands a trade.

  11. JimmyJack Says:

Kwon and LVD run our Linebacker group. They are in good hands.

JPP is going to get this D-Line ready to play.

Makes you wonder if the Bucs are eyeing somebody with their top pick for the secondary.

  12. JimmyJack Says:

But Believer……That’s a ridiculous idea. I’ve never heard in the media anywhere that McCoy is nothing but a team player.

In fact Joe did a story on a tweet from Gerald openly asking for Michael Bennet to join the team and teach us how to win. He was openly calling for a leader. He, You, I and everybody knows he is a follower not a leader.

  13. Alan Says:

All I know is we need to start winning football games 12 straight seasons without a playoff appearance longest streak in the NFL thanks to Buffalo ending their drought last year. If Winston does stop touching girls on campus and in uber cabs and we find some answers in the secondary could we go 10 and 6 or will it be another tip 10 draft pick next year as we continue this pathetic trend?

  14. Baker Mayfield Says:

Dream day would be 4 QBs going ahead of us then one of the Barkley Nelson Chubb trio would be available at 7 then best RB in 2nd.

  15. Dave Says:

If Chubb is there st 7, MUST take him.

I think the pick will be DB (Minkah Fitzpatrick- Some are saying Derwin James or the cornerbacks from Ohio St and Iowa, but Minkah is pro bowl material like Chubb at DE)

    Rd 2- Sony Michel

  16. Dave Says:

What a refreshing change of pace. I’ve never disliked McCoy but he just doesn’t appear to have ever taken ownership of the Alpha Dog role. Something tells me JPP has plenty of dog in him. He will make the entire defense better. This is going to be fun.

  17. Alan Says:

Let’s just hope 4 quarterbacks go off the board before we oick at 7

  18. Dave Says:

Minkah in rd 1? Might explain why the Bucs aren’t jumping on S Tre Boston in FA.
Eric Reid I understand (social justice warrior not focused on football) and the saints safety that was hurt and busted for adderol.
Tre Boston makes no sense though, he’s good, consistent, and only about 25-26 years old.

  19. Dave Says:

@Alan: I hope you’re right but that doesn’t seem likely.

  20. Eric Says:

    It’s coming together.

    We went 2-14, 6-10, 9-7. Then 5-11.

We were on our way up, last year was a weird anomaly.

And I can’t believe Mike Smith, with his resume, has forgotten how to coach. Go bucs.

  21. Bobby M. Says:

McCoy had a lot to tweet when Quinn and Bennett were traded….we get a guy as good or better and he’s silent? McCoy is a diva and I’m now convinced that he would rather lose and be the “star” then actually win and share the glory. I’ve said this for awhile, McCoy was never vocal until Winston came in and threatened his perceived seat on the throne….Then suddenly he’s trying to be a leader? He’s a very good player but he has ZERO dawg in him and this defense needs attitude. It’s time for him to step aside and follow.

  22. Eric Says:

its March there is nothing to lead…..

  23. Jman Says:

    H

  24. Joel Says:

I’m with Big Mac. Tired of the talk. This is a 5-11 team until they prove otherwise.

  25. JJBucfan Says:

Eric- he hasn’t forgotten how to coach, the other teams have caught up with his scheme, because it is the same as he ran 10 years ago and he refuses to make adjustments. The ole “smartest man in the room (or press box)” syndrome. JMO

  26. Gencoimports Says:

Good pickup, but we still need to draft another edge rusher. Premium pick.

  27. Eric Says:

We’re talking about a three time NFL coach of the year with a 66-46 record.

I don’t think adjustments are beyond him.

  28. kgh4life Says:

Wow, a free agent that is actually looking forward to attend OTA’s in order to build chemistry with his teammates, maybe Desean Jackson can learn a thing or two from JPP.

  29. destinjohnny Says:

if Chubb falls…… don’t look now but we would have a top 5 front 7.

Now our secondary would be awful but the front 7 would be full on.

  30. Alan Says:

We already have a top 5 front 7. I would love to trade with buffalo our 7th over all for their two first round picks and a 2nd rounder.

  31. Cobraboy Says:

    @ BigMacAttack: :golfclap: hear, hear.

I am tired of all the talk.

This is a BAD team until PROVEN otherwise on the field and scoreboard. Until then just STFU…

  32. lambchop Says:

Hopefully JPP takes over where Ayers left off and holds everyone on that DL and D, for that matter, accountable.

  33. Broy34 Says:

Bigmac- it must suck having nothing better to do than complain on a Buccaneers website in March about how they get 3/5 wins this year maybe. It rly must suck. I’m sorry man

  34. FortMyersDave Says:

Broy34, I’m with ya but remember that answering a troll is doing exactly what it wants, bringing the sad sack some attention. I choose to ignore that kind of beast and simply hope the Bucs look more like the 9-7 2016 team we all were hyped over rather than the 5-11 team that gagged away at least 4 winnable games via the Mike Smith D and morons like Loaf Baker having penalties that should have had Vegas on alert as he by himself swung a couple of moneylines to the other side, Carolina comes to mind and he tried hard to lose the Jets game as well….

  35. Pryda ...sec147 Says:

This is gonna help VHG big time I bet he has bounce back season dare say a pro bowl caliber season that be the ultimate soap opera lol

  36. unbelievable Says:

    We have a too-5 front 7? Seriously?

If everything goes perfectly, maybe. Truth is we have no idea how good that d line will be until the season starts. Lots of new pieces + new line coach.

  37. Capt.Tim Says:

    (Sigh)
McCoy is top two DT in the NFLz
    This is his defense.
Simion Rice was considered a one dimensional DE, until teamed with Sapp.
Sapp was so Dominant- he allowed Rice to florish as a “Pass rush only”DE.
Quickly Rice developed to a complete, then Elite DE.
McCoy will greatly improve JJP (and Curry). Now, when he drives QBs left or right- they will be running into a waiting DE. Thats how it is supposed to work- when you have a Dominant DT.
    Which , Luckily, we do.

Its absolutely McCoys defense. He isnt a loud screamer, But he is the dominant player onnthe Defense- and the other players listen to him.

Does Anyone really believe Ayers was a lockerroom leader?
Some players like to play “Actor” for the the TV cameras. Fans live to believe that some players are” angry and intense”
It is always an act- for your entertainment( and their merchandise sales)
Teams hold on to their top merchandise sellers- and players know it.

I reality, if Ayers had opened his mouth ain the lockerroom, the rest of the defensive players would have laughed him.
They all watch game films together, and know that Ayers spends 90% of the game laying on his back. And Gholsten can never manage to cross the line on pass players.
Players dont listen, if a bad player tried to critize them. He would have been told he sucks- and to shut up.

Nothing can change the fact that VH3 is to short and too slow to play CB on on island.
Hes religated to playing the slot.A Definite demotion- and and qualifies him as a bust.
VH3 cant play press defense-he’ll get beat badly. Hes gonna play 10 yards off his man.
That would allow a QB an easy” hot read”, if the Bucs have an effective pass rush.
Nope. VH3 is a slot CB.

We could trade down- and get the wuality CB, RB , and safety we need.
Me? I’d do whatever I had to- to get Saqaon Barkley. In 10 years- we will have forgotten this draft
20 yeats from now- we will still be talking about Barkley. He is going to be dominant, and will make our Offense lethal for a very long time

  38. Capt.Tim Says:

Sorry about the spelling errors. Coffee hasnt kicked in.

  39. firethecannons Says:

So happy to have JPP on our team–wow–still cant believe it, he seems so happy to be here too–awesome. I used to work in Boynton Beach at a hospital there with lots Haitians coworkers-super pleasant and hard working, they have made south florida better. I am glad for him that his family is close.

  40. Jman Says:

    I give it an 8.5 outta 10

  41. JWBUCS Says:

BigMacAttack… What a totally negative Ass Hole you are!

  42. Alan Says:

Captain Tim it’s easier to blame auto correct

  43. BuccaneEric75 Says:

I’m not a big fan of trading up, but Licht just made a deal with Gettleman, so I wouldn’t rule out them getting together again for us to trade up to 2. Not what I would do, but I’m not the GM. If Barkley goes 1 somehow, then that’s off the table. More likely that the Browns trade up from 4 to 2 to get thier QB/RB of the future combo.

  44. Duke Says:

    Kgh,

    “It’s all coming together”
    Dirk Koetter, mgr Tire World.

  45. BigMacAttack Says:

I’m not a troll and have had season tickets since they built Ray Jay. I love the Bucs and I was one of the first 10 readers on this page. Don’t believe me, ask Joe. I also know that the Bucs follow this page. I want them to get fired up. I want them to get mad. And most of all, I want them to win and make me eat my words. I’d rather be wrong and win than be right and lose. But really guys, the time for talk isn’t now. Put it on tape. Suck up the injuries and act like warriors. I do think GMC has been a huge underachiever and has good value to trade now, which he is losing quickly. How much time has he spent hurt? Great players that can’t make it on the field are anything but. Talk is cheap and too many of you clowns only like the sound of your own voices. EAD

  46. Proudbucsfan Says:

To be honest, I think Davenport is just as good as Chubb. He reminds me a lot of J.P.P
