Hall Of Fame Numbers

February 7th, 2018

Impressive numbers.

Professional men (and a few women) would not listen to the reasoned yet passioned pleas Saturday from prized JoeBucsFan.com columnist Ira Kaufman and failed to elect Bucs great John Lynch into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

One man who did get the honor was wide receiver Randy Moss.

And you know what is freakish? Someone we all know has more receptions than Moss had in his first four seasons in the NFL. That would be Mike Evans.

Intelligent Evan Silva or Rotoworld.com has been doing some digging and noticed that Evans is in rare company thus far in his young career.

That is serious company right there. And sure, Joe would take Evans over DeAndre Hopkins right now.

Yeah, Joe wrote that!

The thought of having Evans on one side of the offense and Chris Godwin lining up on the other side for quite a few more years makes Joe smile.

That should be a good duo for years, along with OJ and Brate. It’ll be even better if we can get better on the OLine to give Fumbles more time.

  2. Lunchbox Says:

I’m also interested to see what Godwin’s Penn St. teammate Hamilton does. He looks pretty good too

  3. D-Rome Says:

Joe, I nearly drove off the Howard Franklin bridge when I heard Ira talk about the spreadsheet on his podcast regarding John Lynch.

  4. tmaxcon Says:

lichts lone good pick from his first draft. Evans is a beast and a bright spot on a team with no hope.

hopefully glazers get out of the way so they don’t waste jameis and evans like dungy and mckay wasted sapp, lynch, brooks, nikcerson, barber etc.. etc.. etc..

  5. derrickbrooksforGM Says:

By yards and catches he’s similar but that’s where it stops. Evans no where near the game changer that Moss was. TD production not as good as Moss either. Nice try but no go on this comparison. Evans however is a very good WR and I’m glad the bucs have him.

  6. LakeLand Says:

Mike Evans needs major improvements on his catch ratio and YAC. Those are the main markers when you rate a WR.

  7. LakeLand Says:

52% Catch Ratio, 1.6 YAC. I know Mike Evans can do a whole lot better than this.

  8. Kobe Faker'Girl Says:

This is who he is and it wont change

Its MEME s 4th year. He is who he is for the rest of his career

MEME has peaked and we will be paying for his decline as his speed and body breaks down

Terrible route running, worst NFL yac reciever, no speed, terrible hands, 50 percent receptions, immature and not football smart,

  9. 813bucboi Says:

idk about that joe…..if Hopkins would’ve had a decent qb half of his years there in HOU he could have better stats…..imo Hopkins runs better routes and has the best hands in the league not named Antonio…..

with that said, I love mike…..wouldn’t trade him for the world….

    #NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!….GO BUCS!!!!

  10. Jolly Bucs Fan Says:

Dont dislike DJax, but man, he should carry some good trade value and he really doesnt fit our scheme, Trade him for a few draft picks (what a 2nd and 3rd maybe? I am not good at player->pick speculation) and then a 4th or 5th rd pick to nab another receiver to keep depth at the position in case of injuries.

Evans, Godwin, Hump, Draft pick, etc… is pretty decent, throw in that you have Howard and Brate as receiving threats and yeah I think we will be fine and can use the extra cap space AND extra pick or two to address more pressing needs.

Tell me this is not a great idea

  11. Jolly Bucs Fan Says:

Edit to above: then *use* the existing 4th or 5th rd pick to pick up a WR

  12. Bucsfanman Says:

    Evans+Godwin= 🙂

  13. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    Evans + Godwin + OJ + Brate + Hump…:-) 🙂

  14. DB55 Says:

    Hey Joe

    KY hands, right?

  15. Pickgrin Says:

Mike Evans is the best receiver this franchise has ever fielded. And dude is about to get PAID!

Congrats Mike. You’ve earned it big guy.

  16. 99.97.92.55.47.40.28.20.7 Says:

Pickgrin – could not have said it better myself. the guy is a star and has HOF intangibles and talent

  17. LakeLand Says:

I guess Bucs fans has to be hype over Mike Evans. After all, their All-Time Receiving Leader is Mark Carrier.

    321 Receptions
    5,018 Yards
    27 Touchdowns

    Wow 42 years of misery

  18. LakeLand Says:

And Mike Evans has already passed Mark Carrier in TDs.

    SMH

  19. 1Gr8Buc Says:

Expect an extention soon. He just posted a message on facebook saying “BIG things coming soon. Announcement coming.”

  20. LakeLand Says:

Most fans on this site wanted Aaron Donald over Mike Evans. There will never be justification for Licht drafting ME over Aaron Donald. No matter how much they try to justify it.

  21. @Hands2theFace Says:

Randy Moss (Holy Sheep Dip!) In the graphic above, fewer targets and receptions had 817 more yards and 21 more TD’s (53 TDs to ME’s 32) DURN!!! Dude was catching bombs!

  22. JAB83 Says:

I have been saying it from day 1 with Mike… He has the ability to run after the catch but he leaves his feet for every catch…

Wanna see him go of for some YAC…. Get him the ball in stride… But that was not the Dunkaneers brand so he never developed that skill….

I’m betting V-Jax schooled him well on going up for the ball and D-Jax will do the same for YAC….

Thats is most likely the reason D-Jax regressed… He was like, “See I could of caught that but I aint gonna go anywhere. Catch it in stride and BINGO.”

Its an art that MOSS protected and Mike is gonna learn!!!

Stay tuned folks… No where to go but UP FROM HERE!!!!

  23. Rod Munch Says:

I hate these age based stats as most of it is based off opportunity and when exactly someone’s birthday. Games played is a much better stat that gives you an apple to apple comparison in terms of production.

With that said Evans has been a fantastic addition to the team, I think thus far in his career he’s the Keyshawn of today, but with a bit more athletic ability. Speed is going to be the issue as he ages, but he was a solid 4.5 guy coming out of college and so long as he keeps his weight down speed shouldn’t be an issue for a while. He is very much a special talent and when you have a future of Winston, Evans and OJ, plus maybe Brate as well and if Godwin builds on his solid rookie year, man that is a great offense that should be great for a long time – just give Winston an acceptable running game and some decent blocking and man, what a future.

  24. BigHogHaynes Says:

TRUMPMAXCOn: Dungy has a RING… Sapp has a RING…Barber has a RING….Brooks has a RING…Lynch has a RING…the whole damn 2002 BUCS roster has a RING…GMC’s career wasted? Sure it was because they didn’t build a strong D -LINE around him, this is clearly the GM’s failure! TAKE A KNEE…KEEP AMERICA FREE…let’s not MAKE AMERICA WHITE AGAIN…TRUMPMAXCON STAY N THE BLACK…GIVE ME LIBERITY OR GIVE ME A PARADE!!!!

  25. Bird Says:

I luv it when people call him overrated, not that good. Doesn’t deserve pay day and best of all…. the trade him clown posse.

He is the best player we have.

  26. SteveK Says:

I still think arcane can do more.

If he can stop dropping the ball as much and keep his emotions in check the he could wind up a HOF.

  27. Ndog Says:

BigHog just go away with your pointless drivel.

  28. BigHogHaynes Says:

Ndog: it’s only drivel when one’s mind can’t conceive!!! We’s free!!
