  1. Buc believer Says:

Hopefully Rock it is uncomfortable for him as it has been for the fans watching this garbage for the last 10 plus years!!

  2. zzbucs Says:

Me , personally I want Gruden really far away from Tampa…..Pick up your ring and go……I would like to see Koetter one more year. I dont ythink we have the talent everybody think we have……We are really good in WR TE and LB……NO running game, Mediocre QB, average OL, really Bad DL…..Come on men!!!! Stop with the talented team, beacause we aren´t!!!!

  3. FortMyersDave Says:

Of course Winston is going to take the blame. The problem is that he is simply like a broken record now; how many times have we heard the same excuses from him???? Of coure he is gonna defend Koetter no matter if he had anything to do with Rappaport’s report by simply venting frustration over how bad the season has turned out or if he has a legitimate beef with how the team handles his injury or with Dirk’s less than stellar play calling. No matter whether Jameis’ surrogates put out the report or if came from other sources it is basically a foregone conclusion that Koetter i toast and Winston has to at least appear to be a rah-rah team player type of guy who is willing to shoulder the blame and try to improve in order to make a good firt impression on whomever is gonna be the new HC, OC and perhaps GM…. This 3 ring circus is getting the feel of the calamaties that are going on in NY and Cleveland this season, such is life for the fans of a bottom feeding franchise, whatever can go south will…..

  4. jeff Says:

I feel sorry for dirt and I wanted him to win in the worst way but this team has been poorly mishandled I was at the game and I am ashamed and embarrassed for This coach and gm.

  5. derrickbrooksforGM Says:

Gosh this team is a mess for years to come.

  6. jeff Says:

I spent 300 dollars to watch this garbage and ive been here from the beginning and this feels like the 80s and I am wondering how much time I have left . Very tired of watching this same old same old crap maybe the answer is to sell this team to a owner that wants it . Buco bruce is gone /Culverhouse is gone /maybe ill be gone

  7. jeff Says:

Derrick brooks would be a good gm

  8. ATrain Says:

    Why do we want Gruden?
He hasnt coached for 10 years and no other team is going after him that is a red flag

Lets find the young, disciplined, Coach who is hungry.

We cant have a new HC that also is the OC too much going on for a new coach

Find and Oline that is the key STRONG OLINE

SIMPLE — except finding the right coach… NOT GRUDEN

  9. AlteredEgo Says:

    Patience Coach Hoppers….
    LOL…
Detroit Lions defensive tackle Akeem Spence celebrated Detroit’s 24-21 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by ‘eating a W’ in the locker room following the team’s nail-biting win at Raymond James Stadium Sunday

  10. jeff Says:

Dungy should of never been fired nor chucky . Hiring these too bit cast offs from loosing teams was the wrong path / we need a strong gm first and a coach like gruden that the players would run into a wall for . Gruden is a hot canaidate every year and is keeping up and watching all the trends the nfl has come up with and is exactly what this team needs .

  11. roadwarrior Says:

I love what Gruden did for this team. But he is not going to be the coach of this team ever again. Derrick Brooks is also one of the best bucs to play here but no way should we be talking about him as GM. Some of the people on this blog don,t have a clue what needs to be done. This team and it,s fans need to stop living in the past. If for some reason i,m wrong and either one of these predictions come true mark my words it won’t be good. It all starts with the owners not being football people.

  12. AlteredEgo Says:

    One more year for GM/HC
    Patience Coach Hoppers

  13. BartButtplug Says:

Hire Troy Aikman as head coach and make Sam Wyche GM.

  14. Willy D Buc Says:

I sincerely hope, as a loyal, lifelong Buccaneers fanatic, that the Glaziers have much more patience and understanding (lack of ignorance) than the turncoat, classlessly chanting fans.

*This statement does not apply to D.C. Mike Smith.*

  15. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

I was at the Stadium, and I never heard anything about Gruden.
What I heard was an even worse “Let’s Go Lion’s”, loud and clear, in our stadium.
In fact, I will say there were more Lion’s fans there than Tampa fans.

  16. Couch Fan Says:

Not sure how anyone can ask, “Why do we want Gruden?”. If you’ve been a fan for any lenght of time, that should be a very easy question you can answer yourself. He is BY FAR the most competent coach we’ve ever had. Nobody. NOBODY. Has been anything close to competent since he left us. He won multiple division titles and had us competing for playoffs almost on a yearly basis. I dont know what team you have been watching since his departure but I’d take that in a fricken heartbeat right now over the last 10 years. I have no confidence in The Glazers hiring decisions, though I do think they are trying their best to bring us a winning team.

  17. unbelievable Says:

Gruden is not coming back. I don’t know how many times I have to keep telling ya’ll.

Interesting note: that’s the first time I’ve heard Jameis or other players mentioning “family” in quite some time.

  18. unbelievable Says:

    C’mon couch-

We won the Superbowl his first year. After that, we only made it back to playoffs twice in 6 more years, and lost in the 1st round both times (pretty badly too). We also had losing records 3 out of those next 6 years.

I know time makes the heart grow fonder, but let’s remember how it really was. Saying he’s been more competent that Raheem, Schiano, etc… isn’t saying much.

We’re criticizing Koetter for his playcalling, but Gruden was the guy who couldn’t figure out how to get Galloway and Antonio Bryant on the field at the same time. And our draft picks during his tenure…

  19. Couch Fan Says:

Hey I never said he was the perfect coach. But 3 division titles and 3 playoff appearances in 7 years and a super bowl. Compared to the last 10 years and the history of this franchise? The guy should be a god here. Would I like to have the next Belicheck? Of course. But realisticially thats never going to happen. As a Lifelong Bucs fan, Gruden type of success is about the best we can hope for. Thats my only point.

  20. unbelievable Says:

Oh, I totally agree on the success aspect!

I just don’t think he is the guy to do it. He’s been gone for quite some time, and I just can’t seem him coming back to coaching and having LESS power than he did before (with regards to drafting, personnel, etc.)

Plus, how would that situation play out where they would have to fire (again) a HC who was already in the ring of honor?

I dunno I’m torn. On one hand it seems Koetter is just better suited as an OC than a head coach, but at the same time I am so damn sick of the revolving door of coaches in Tampa. 2 years is not a lot of time to build a complete team. Yes, we’ve seen some teams like the Eagles and Rams turn it around but that is the exception, not the norm.

I think I would be okay giving Koetter 1 more year, but would demand he hire a real OC to manage play calling and creating the scheme, get a new QB coach obviously, and I think we have to replace Mike Smith at DC…. Well sh!t, lol. That’s a lot.

  21. Couch Fan Says:

Well thats a good point. Gruden certainly cant be in charge of the drafts. But luckily thats where Licht excels. The two seem like they would be a perfect match for each other if Gruden can accept just being the coach. If not then I agree hes not the right guy.

As far as Koeter goes. I like his style and I really wanted him to succeed but it just doesnt appear that hes meant to be a HC. And with Licht not having an extenion yet and Smith being mentioned as the leading candidate to take over the Giants HC job… it almost seems guaranteed that we are having a coaching turnover this off season. So to me the question comes down to, do you trust the Glazers to hire the right guy this time? Or would you rather rehire the most successful coach you’ve ever had?… The answer for me is easy. The Glazers are indeed trying to win without question. But they simply have no idea what they are doing.

  22. unbelievable Says:

Yea those are good points. Agreed on the Glazers 100%.

Ah, the life of a Bucs fan..

  23. passthebuc Says:

Why is the team in disarray? Simple, the players found out that JW. is all hat and no cattle. You need to move on now from JW or you are just wasting time rebuilding a team. Yes, I know its hard, but now you may still get something for him whereas later, nothing at all.
