Jameis Won’t Answer If Shoulder OK

December 15th, 2017

Won’t discuss shoulder status.

Is the right wing of America’s Quarterback in a good place?

We don’t know for sure. That’s partially because Jameis Winston won’t talk about it.

When asked today if his shoulder felt better or worse than it did when he was shelved for three games, Jameis punted.

“It really doesn’t matter,” Jameis said. “No one really cares. So, as long as I am ready to play, I’m good.”

Jameis added that he will not need any surgery in the offseason. He just needs rest for the shoulder to fully heal properly.

  1. SB Says:

I would rather hear him answer who the third person in the Uber car was.

  2. Clodhopper Says:

No one really cares? WTF does that mean? Seems to me literally EVERYONE cares!!!

  3. I Bleed Pewter and Red Says:

Woe is me! “No one really cares” I guess if he plays well between the ears this weekend the shoulder will be a non issue but if he plays recklessly he could have a built in defense? C’mon Winston stop being cryptic, does the shoulder hinder your ability to perform or not?

  4. Joe Says:

No one really cares? WTF does that mean? Seems to me literally EVERYONE cares!!!

Pretty sure Team Glazer cares. And Licht. And Koetter. And Jameis’ dad, just to name a few.

  5. lightningbuc Says:

Will it prevent him from going to his left while in an Uber?

  6. C eh N eh D eh Says:

Once again, this could be chronic…he had a shot of something for his shoulder around the time of the combine…that should of been a red flag to question the drafting of Tallahassee’s QB right there…

  7. Etzel Says:

    I care.

  8. AlteredEgo Says:

Jameis’s dad needs to step back, I’ve seen his kind coaching youth sports…always scheming for or against this or that….would not be surprised if the Ian rumor started with #3’s pop….Joe referred to him…one of the Sat AM 620 hosts brags about his “private” talks with pops…vicarious counterproductive clinging onto Jameis’s fame

  9. C eh N eh D eh Says:

…and looking back on the combine story, one team termed Jameis shoulder as a long term issue…lovely 🙁

  10. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I think he meant no one within the media cares.

I think Ian reporting a lie and all the other made up stuff is making Jameis indifferent to the media.

  11. Lamarcus Says:

    Buccaneer bonzai

Ur right. I think JW found out no one will have his back but a handful full of ppl. Outside Glazer’s, his family and himself. No one cares. Only performance matters to them. No iron Man praises. Only in tuned to his negatives

  12. TheBucsAnthem Says:

no one care “licking fingers” Jameis aka ATOM (Americas Turn Over Machine)

  13. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    “No one really cares”?

Man this is not what I want to hear from #3 at this point. With all that is swirling around this franchise and #3 in particular, the last thing we need is a “team leader” feeling sorry for himself. That’s a pretty disgusting comment!!!

Could somebody please call the Waaaambulance!

  14. Onetrickpony Says:

    Woe is me

  15. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Bonzai, Rappaport is the last guy that I would expect to lie about a story. He has so many connections that he doesn’t have to lie. If he said it, he heard it. Sucks for us, but that doesn’t mean it’s a lie. As a Bucs fan, I wouldn’t expect anything to go smooth. Neither should you.

  16. DB55 Says:

You should probably listen to the pc before commenting. this comment may be a bit overblown imo.

  17. BuccaneEric75 Says:

If Rappaport needed a story so bad that he had to lie about it (he doesn’t), than there are 25+ other teams to lie about that would make people click more than a Bucs story. If Ian reported it, then it has merit. Sucks, but probably 99% true.

  18. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    You know

When Jameis now talks……all I hear is the sound from the Peanuts Cartoon when the teacher is talking in class “wa wa wa wa wa wa wa”

    ………it all sounds the same.

……and it’s been sounding the same….no one he started licking his fingers because he maybe running outta things to say

Hey, I wonder if KFC wants Jameis to be their next spokesman after this grabbing crotch charge gets dropped ………. “It’s finger-licking good!”

  19. Doctor Stroud Says:

We will never get a straight answer from this organization about injuries. You would think that the team would use this obfuscation as a weapon against other teams, but it just doesn’t work out that way. When our players are “doubtful”, they are “out”; when other teams’ players are “doubtful”, they have All-Pro, All-World, Hall of Fame games. Sorry…this has been a long season.

  20. Mike Johnson Says:

Now watch..Right after the last game the announcement will be made..Jameis to have Surgery Next week. And besides..Lets keep it real guys..Nobody outside of Tampa Bay really cares. Course now, If we was Winning then…..

  21. 813bucboi Says:

i think Winston is right…..the coaching staff for sure doesn’t care….if they did, they would’ve shut him down after the cards game when it was obvious to everyone that he was injured pretty bad….

they continued to play him because they were trying to save their jobs….it aint work and he had to be shut down for a few weeks…..then they bring him back when he’s obviously not 100% as he stated above to take more pounding when this season over since week9….

the way they handled Winston once he got hurt combined with poor coaching and players regressing put the nail in dirks coffin…..we wont begin to get better until we send dirk packing!!!!…..GO BUCS!!!!

  22. BigMacAttack Says:

I don’t know why they’re letting him play. The season means nothing now. Jameis said it needs rest, so rest it, put him on IR and let Fitz play. It also allows you to put a healthy QB on the roster. The O line sucks at pass blocking. ATL has a good pass rush and a hurt shoulder could get real bad with one good hit. I hope it doesn’t but expect it. Who makes these decisions? Jameis? He’s still the Franchise QB and protecting him may only happen on the bench.

  23. 813bucboi Says:

    @mike Johnson

I agree….the sad part is we’ve seen this before…..Andrew luck…..he said the same thing after the colts rushed him back…..he’ll be fine…just needs to rest….BS….GO BUCS!!!!

  24. Nate Says:

yup and people don’t remember steve mariucci askin jameis about the clicks in his shoulder

baseball was not good for jameis as a qb……no qb played heavy in college dual sports and was successful

I hope but its time that’s been talked about

  25. Defense Rules Says:

@Joe … “He just needs rest for the shoulder to fully heal properly.” IMO, that seems to imply Joe that Jameis’ throwing shoulder ISN’T completely healed … that it still needs more rest for him to be 100%. So here we are with a healthy Fitz on the bench (who won 2-out-of-3 games) and a less-than-100% Jameis out on the field (who’s won 2-out-of-10 games). Tell me again which QB gives us the best chance of winning Monday night?

It also brings up the issue of Ryan Griffin to me. If Griff is going to be our #2 QB going forward, I’d sure like to see what he’s got during the regular season. Preseason doesn’t really tell me all that much about our QBs in particular since the defenses are so vanilla.

  26. NFLNut Says:

    *************

Jameis simply meant that no one in the media cares whether he’s healthy or not. When ESPN can say he’s been “disappointing” despite setting career highs in completion percentage and passer rating, all while playing with an injured THROWING shoulder … while at the same time praising Matthew Stafford for losing a game on which he played with a mere sprained ankle, Jameis knows the media is out to get him.

    *************

  27. BrianBucs Says:

I know that in the NFL the pressure to win is immense and there are many jobs on the line. But at this point in the season with only four games left, why risk your future possible franchise QB’s unhealthy throwing shoulder on meaningless games when you have no playoffs to play for? It just doesn’t seem very smart to me

  28. TampaTown Says:

“No one really cares” Now stomp your feet, stick out your bottom lip, go to your room and slam the door. Play your music really loud until you pi$$ off everyone in the house who then have to pound on your door because it’s locked. Come out when you can act like a big boy.

  29. firethecannons Says:

I am onboard with SB–we need to know who the 3rd person is in the Uber

Jo should have a poll and we could vote most likely, who remembers what Jameis was doing back then and who did he hang wit-who was he in Az with? These are the questions I want to discuss. The season is lost I could care less bout Doug Martin and all the other nonsense non-stories. Somewhat disappointed that Joe has provided NO coverage on the incident–while ago thought Joe mentioned he had an idea about who the 3rd person was–I would like to know who that is and anything else that can be surmised.

  30. BrianBucs Says:

    Fire

IF IF IF IF IF there really was a third person

  31. NFLNut Says:

    firethecannons,

WHO CARES who the 3rd person was? It doesn’t matter. All that matters is that the ONLY witness says Jameis was in the back-seat … it doesn’t even matter if there was a 3rd person in the front-seat.

However … I have named many of the NFL players that attended Kurt Warner’s charity camp with Jameis … it could be any one of them or just one of Darby’s friends, etc, but in reality … it makes no difference.

  32. BrianBucs Says:

Hopefully, 100% of the Truth comes out, whatever it is

  33. NFLNut Says:

    *********

It makes no difference if the whole truth comes out. All that matters is that the ONLY eye witness confirms Jameis wasn’t in the front seat.

If next week Russell Wilson gets accused of molesting some woman on the dance floor at 8pm in a restaurant … and Doug Baldwin comes out as the ONLY eye witness and says that such is an impossibility as at that time Wilson was on the second floor of that same restaurant having dinner with him … it makes no difference what the woman says after that … the only eye witness confirmed Russell’s version of events and that is that.

Anyone can be accused of anything by anyone at anytime but when there is only one eyewitness and that one and only eyewitness confirms nothing happened, then that’s that.

    *********

  34. Pick6 Says:

i think the point of the “no one really cares” comment is “if i tell the coaches i’m well enough to be out on the field, nobody will or should accept ‘my shoulder hurts’ as an excuse for a bad game.”

  35. BrianBucs Says:

And if there really was no eyewitness or the eyewitness was lying? Like I said, hopefully 100% of the Truth comes out whatever it is. The only people that don’t want the Truth to some out are the people that are afraid of the Truth
