Talks shoulder

America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, and his bum shoulder woke up this morning after a Wednesday of throwing the football. That hadn’t happened in a few weeks.

Team doctors let Jameis sling the rock around the field yesterday, rather than take a rest day for his sprained throwing shoulder and bruised deltoid muscle.

At One Buc Palace today, Jameis was asked what he’s dealing with in managing his injury during weekdays.

“Really just pain, pain from the AC joint. But I’m feeling better; I’m feeling good,” Jameis said.

Well, that’s progress. Jameis has to be improving otherwise Team Glazer’s prized asset would at least be resting, if not sitting out a game or two.

Frankly, a big game by Jameis is likely the Bucs’ only chance on Sunday in New Orleans. Hopefully, he and the offensive line can keep that shoulder from crashing down on the nasty-hard Superdome turf.

    Silly….that injury does not get better by itself with a few days not throwing a football….AC joint….bruised deltoid….he ain’t healthy….and he ain’t proven…stuff your stats…

  2. Lamarcus Says:

    I’ll take it Joe

I’ll take 1 percent JW over a 100 percent Fitz anyday

  3. MadMax Says:

    Tank it….seasons over!!

    QB Eric Dungey-Syracuse

  4. Michael Wright Says:

-Again, The Bucs will not stop until Jamos is run into the ground with an even worse shoulder injury which will require even more surgery. Makes one wonder about the Bucs/Koetter mentality. Would he rest another QB? Jameis is not healthy. What is this? A remake of, Only the Brave?!! Playing with a shoulder injury when you are only going to finish 8-8 at best (and thats a longshot), is outright foolish. But then again, Hey. Hey..Its Tampa Bay..The Kings of….Tom Foolerey!!

  5. Supersam Says:

@Lamarcus- your clueless. Your man crush on Jabooloses has got you blind to reality, this is a division opponent on a Turf field with a defense seeking blood right now, you think they won’t be falling on Winstons shoulder every chance they get? They have an opportunity to knock out a division opponents qb for an extended period of time, you don’t think that dline is salavating right now? Joe you have some clueless readers.

  6. AlteredEgo Says:

MM..saw a bit of Eric Dungey last weekend…tough running SOB…have not idea what his passing game is like….impressed with his leadership and spirit…as I’ve said…win -win for Bucs would be to take a QB with the first pick and let it sort itself out when Jameis rookie contract is up….

  7. NFLNut Says:

^ You LOONS couldn’t GM a Madden team to the playoffs … but continue making fools of yourself on this site; it’s rather amusing.

  8. Tampabaybucfan Says:

It’s never “just pain”……pain is a warning that something is wrong….the key question with pain is will it do further damage. Only those who know and can evaluate the diagnosis would know.
I suspect they are satisfied that throwing will not add to the injury.
But, no one can predict what taking a hit will do on a injury.

  9. unbelievable Says:

Every guy plays through pain, not really a big deal there… Just wouldn’t want to turn this into a worse injury that never goes away, and ruins his career.

  10. Joeypoppems Says:

Whether you like Jameis or not, the Bucs arent going to be drafting a QB lol.

As far as Jameis playing goes, there is a better chance he injures his shoulder even more than there is a chance of salvaging the season.

If Koetter and Licht’s jobs were safe I have a feeling they would be comfortable sitting him until he is 100%

  11. Not there yet Says:

It’s his throwing shoulder. Winston was always inconsistent with his passes but last week was the worst I’ve ever seen so I’ll give him a pass but everyone is talking like he’s back so I pray he doesn’t come out and embarrass himself again

  12. Waterboy Says:

Play Fitz the season is over and they’re going to lose with or without him so it’s best to not even risk further injury.

  13. AlteredEgo Says:

“Whether you like Jameis or not, the Bucs arent going to be drafting a QB lol.”…well back in the Cadillac Williams days….who I was thrilled with as a draft pick….I was saying to draft AD Peterson….Joey….most folks were as blind then as you are now….Jamesi is inconsistent with easy throws ….he has everything but accuracy..not a good skill set for a 2017 NFL passing league …

  14. LakeLand Says:

The Yucs don’t have to tank. If they go all out, they will still get a Top-10 draft pick. It’s not like they will go on a 5-6 game winning streak.

  15. Lamarcus Says:

Yup. Give me jw. Best chance to win. Broken shoulder and all. Reality

  16. MadMax Says:

@Altered, try to see his game against Clemson! Kid was lighting it up. He had some ints last week though.

  17. MadMax Says:

@nut, Madden? lol, yeah, i dont play video games. I do research….but go do your fake GM self lol

  18. Lord Cornelius Says:

lot of people here are experts on how AC joint sprains work I guess lol

  19. 813bucboi Says:

    LC

    lot of people making sense….

this is the same injury that has caused Andrew luck to miss time….it started with a AC joint sprain….then it got worse…then he had surgery….rush back…got hurt again…had another surgery….they tried to rush him back this year…he practiced(limited) 3 times in one week…had a set back…and now he’s done for the year…..

we aint going nowhere this year….sit Winston the rest of the season and let fitz, dirk and smitty guide us to a top 5 pick….cann the staff JAN.1st….let the new regime come in and turn this ship around in 1 offseason….GO BUCS!!!!

  20. Joeypoppems Says:

    @AlteredEgo

Huge difference between a RB and a QB

  21. LakeLand Says:

Andrew Luck was put on Injury Reserve today

  22. OAR Says:

Speaking of pain….found out today you are supposed to urinate on a jellyfish sting, not a jelly stain. Sorry lady at the Waffle House….was just trying to help.

  23. BigHogHaynes Says:

The sheep are turning on The Famious One,…Me: well what did you reasonably expect!! TAKE A KNEE….KEEP AMERICA FREE….have not heard the term America’s Quarterback in a while …..what up with that Joe!!!

  24. FuNkYxMuNkEy Says:

AC joints are no joke. I’ve messed both of mine up and it took months before I had no issues. We need to think about the future and sit him at least this week and possibly the rest of the season.

Our season seems to be done since our coaching staff thinks they are coaching pee wee football. It’s a joke to see us play each week. The offensive play calling is worse than some high school teams and our D isn’t even out there most of the time, at least it seems that way.

We have no excuses for being 2-5 period. We need to think about the future and not risk causing serious long term issues with his shoulder. They knew he was going to have issues with it when we drafted him so now it’s time to be smart and think about the 2018 nfl draft. The worst thing that could happen this season is to go on a streak and win a few games and finish around .500. Try to get a top 5 pick and keep building through the draft. A RB and DE a necessities at the moment. We need help all over the field on D and our RB stock is laughable.

Get your ish together Koetter or you will be gone just like our previous coaches. The way he is coaching right now, he doesn’t deserve another year
