Dotson, Marpet Placed On IR

November 29th, 2017

Two starters done.

The season has come to an end for two Bucs stalwarts on the offensive line.

Bucs right tackle Demar Dotson and center Ali Marpet were both placed on injured reserve this morning and their seasons are finished.

So not only was the Bucs defense lit up like your Christmas tree Sunday in Atlanta, the Bucs offense was beat up like a tomato can boxer.

Joe suspects Bucs fans will now have a valid reason to whine about the offensive line in the remaining five games.

Do the Bucs really want to bring back America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston?

wow, it keeps getting better and better…. season tickets anyone??

  2. EasyTheGreat Says:

If im not mistaken that’s the final year of Dotson’s contract. I hope he’s brought back next season, he’s been our best OL player all season.

  3. ChanEpic Says:

Can the news get any worse? I’m sorry I love my Bucs but moving Marpet to center seems to have been a failed experiment and losing 2 starters on the O-line that is subpar already? We’d better see if Mike Alstott is available because our “runners” are going to have to shed 3-4 tacklers before they get to the LOS. Sheesh.

  4. Pickgrin Says:

Great – the only two OLinemen who were playing well…

Time for Benenoch and Wester to get a bunch of snaps and see if either can actually play Tackle in the NFL.

  5. SOEbuc Says:

BENCH JAMEIS REST OF YEAR!! This line with these two starters couldn’t keep him from constant injuries and Marpet is the largest piece of the pie on that o line.

  6. DBS Says:

This whole team has been on IR all year.

  7. Mikey Says:

I’m heading to Green Bay for the game this weekend!!! Yay!!!

  8. Waterboy Says:

Might as well keep Fitzpatrick playing if your 2 best offense linemen are out for the remainder of the season.

  9. tnew Says:

So.. Reading the tea leaves, the plan at the start of the year is to move Pamphile to RT, Hawley will go to Center, so does that leave Benenoch for left Guard or will Evan Smith be off concussion protocol?

  10. 813bucboi Says:

dirk will seal his fate if he plays Winston with 2starters out…GO BUCS!!!

  11. C eh N eh D eh Says:

SEASON OVER…not win another game now

  12. Mike Johnson Says:

Dude says he’s heading to Green Bay for the game this weekend? Man..What a waste of money. Hope he’s got family living there. Cause the Bucs ain’t winning..for sure. You can bank on this.

  13. Cobraboy Says:

    4-12

  14. Bucsfanman Says:

Oh boy! I can’t wait to see this team on Sunday!!!

  15. doolnutts Says:

Not the worst thing in the world… Gives us some games to see what we have in our young guys. Dotson is fighting against father time turning 33 in the offseason.. One way or another he will need to be replaced at some point.

  16. Grt2 Says:

Marpet is overrated and Dotson is average on his best day. Time to see how deep this O-line really is. Remember Licht and Koetter said all offseason that they loved their Oline and how deep they were.

  17. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Cobraboy

    4-12 exactly!!!

Now we might have a shot @ the Top 3rd or 4th pick.
Great spot to be in – when teams are looking to Move Up – and grab a Young QB.

Time to restock the shelves – trade/release a few pieces.
And get ready for this run in 2018

    GO BUCS!!

  18. unbelievable Says:

    Yikes.

Not seeing any more wins on the schedule with those 2 out.

    Draft chasers rejoice!

  19. BucTired Says:

Truly wasn’t expecting the Superbowl this year. Maaaybeee wild card or something. But I did fully expect at least some excitement. Sheesh! Season done in November.

  20. denjoe Says:

They are gonna put the whole team on IR, so they have more excuses.
    LOL!
