Bucs No. 2

November 1st, 2017

Still highly ranked.

Joe was so disturbed after watching that shat show of an offense on Sunday, he nearly turned on a golf match to watch.

The Bucs’ offense was so awful, it brought back to mind the nightmares of the Josh McCown era. The Bucs entered last week’s game against the Stinking Panthers with the No. 1 passing offense. They played like the worst in the NFL in a decade.

But alas, even with that horrible display, the Bucs are still among the league leaders in passing. Per NFL.com, the Bucs currently have the No. 2 passing offense in the NFL with 295.4 yards a game. The Belicheats have the best offense overall at 411.1 yards a game.

You don’t know how much Joe wants last week’s game to just be a freak of nature.

That don’t mean SPIT if u don’t WIN!!!

  2. Dewey Selmon Says:

Last week you were bragging we were the #1 passing offense. There is a reason for this. No run game, playing from behind and ineffective play calling. I guess stats are more important than wins to some of you.

  3. Atrain4047 Says:

Those stats make our offense sound good when in reality it is not great. The Vikings game they were forced to throw the ball all game which led to 3 Winston picks, the patriots game the offense did nothing for 3 quarters. The cardinals game, they were forced to throw all game again. The panthers game the offense did nothing. That number four passing game makes it sound like we are lighting people up like drew brees and the saints.

  4. Defense Rules Says:

Among the league leaders in passing yardage? Not impressed. Only 1 stat counts Joe: 2-5. And there’s a very good reason why we’re 2-5. Actually there are quite a few reasons why we’re 2-5.

  5. DBS Says:

Remember all these stats when your watching all the other teams in the playoffs.

  6. Bucsfanman Says:

    Drop the mic Defense Rules!
Those stats don’t mean squat unless we are winning football games. End of story!

    Joe,

It’s been a while since I’ve posted on the site (though I frequently read). I must say that I am pleased to see that you have decided to focus on the positive things happening with this team. Though our W-L record has been disappointing thus far, I still have faith in the players and the talent on this team. I truly believe that winning is a mindset and that building from our strengths, while never forgetting to enjoy the ride, will ultimately reflect in a culture change and big wins. Keep up the good work in focusing on the positives Joe.

    Deceiving stat.

  9. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I too, choose to remain positive. Although I am very disappointed with our record so far, we have many things going for us.

We have a considerable number of great young with high potential.

Winston, Evans, Brate, Humphries, Smith, Marpet, Howard, Godwin, Kwon, Beckwith, J Evans

We have all of our draft picks and plenty of salary cap space to retain our stars.

New indoor stadium and remodeled Ray-Jay

IMO we are 3 top players short of a solid team….2 DE & 1 CB. That is certainly an attainable goal next year.

I know this is hard for most Buc fans to take and I struggle with it but being a fan means remaining hopeful….again!!!

  10. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I forgot Hargreaves….still think he will end up being solid.

  11. Issic Haggins Says:

Per Koetter, we have big plans for P Barber !!!

He’s a big contributor to special teams !!!

So you have a head coach that won’t get to his big plans for a player because he’s a special teams player !!!

P barber isn’t Bo Jackson but D Martin has no business starting in the NFL , especially on real grass !! Koetter is currently lost and the NFL is moving to fast for him and his babbling comments are a sure sign of that. I Hope he and Licht can pull it together because they both clearly sht the bed with their talent evaluation heading into the season. They have left this roster about 3 players short , not great players just decent players that have wasted all the rest of the talent on this team. I mean you can’t have a 5000 pound rated chain tied to a 300 pound rope because unlike the current state of the Bucs staff , other nfl staffs will realize, recognize and exploit that weak link.

It’s mind boggling at best ??

  12. PRBucFan Says:

the Bucs offense has been the worst in the NFL in the first half of games all year.

Only difference is this time they weren’t able to score at all in the second half.

  13. Bob in Valrico Says:

A couple of things I noticed on the Mike Evans incompletes and completes.
He is 6 foot 5 inch receiver. No doubt he could have been better on some low balls. My question is why is a tall receiver having to break down and go to the ground so much? Why are we throwing so many passes to Evans where there is
no possibility of advancing the ball further?
Another thing I have noticed at times and in the pass over his head he seems
to be struggling to get his hands up. Gonna take a stab on this one,I welcome your thoughts. He has to bring his hands up close to his body because of ball placement. Yes he can get his hands on it ,but wouldn’t it be easier to extend
arms out from your body and get your hands in a better position more quickly?
The added advantage is you can look the ball in better and protect yourself better.

  14. BrianBucs Says:

Mop up yards and garbage time yards can make a bad team’s stats look good. Like Raheem Morris use to say, “Stats are for losers”

  15. Not there yet Says:

Your honestly making things worse pointing out we’re second in passing especially since you aren’t telling the whole truth. Saying last week we had the number 1 passing offense this week were number 2. It would be best not to talk about useless stats of a team headed for a top ten pick in the draft. Wouldn’t matter if we passed for 500 yards a game if your horrible on third down and don’t score points but I guess you have to write about something.

  16. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @BobInValrico

I can answer your first question……because he is usually well covered and Jameis is often inaccurate. Evans has essentially turned into a possession receiver like Keyshawn.

Sunday Evans actually got behind his coverage and Jameis overthrew him (again)….that would have been a YAC touchdown…..something we rarely see from any Buc receiver.

As for the arm extention ???…..I will say that Jameis often throws the high hard one…..you can’t expect receivers to catch those very often…especially if they get only one hand on it.

  17. DB55 Says:

Don’t worry guys soon very soon Ryan Griffin will be the starter and you’ll start scoring tds and winning games all the time. Soon, just wait for it…

  18. mike n Says:

2 in passing and near the bottom in scoring… oh and the ints plus 8 fumbles is the reason we are 2 dash 5 and not 5 dash 2.

  19. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

The wins will come. And it won’t take a coaching change to get them. We have a young offense. They just need more time to gel than we expected is all.

  20. Grt2 Says:

We’re going 8-1 boys… if Jameis plays… fire the cannons!!!!

  21. Bob in Valrico Says:

Would much rather us be a Top 5 scoring offense.OR Top 10 even.

  22. Bob in Valrico Says:

    @DB
Thats not gonna happen. Few really want that. But if you asked me if I would like Jameis to start fast and be more accurrate at times.I am going to be honest and say Hell Yea!

when will the wins come?…how much time does this staff need?…until next year?…LOL….

dirk is toast….simple as that…the new coaching staff will be thrilled to have a young offensive core to work with….they’ll know exactly what to do with them and will get us to the next level….

coming out flat + playing NO in the dome on a 5 game win streak= blow out….GO BUCS!!!

“dirk is toast….simple as that…the new coaching staff will be…”

Pretty sure of that are you? Or is that just what you WANT to see happen?

Short of finishing 4-12ish or something equally disturbing – Koetter will most likely have at least 1 more year to turn the Bucs into a winning/playoff team.

  25. unbelievable Says:

WHo gives a chit about yards?

All that matters is points, and the Bucs rank no. 18 in points per game.

    Nice spin though.
