Saints Shutout Victory Pushes Bucs Into Must-Win

October 1st, 2017

“Pressure is on, young fella.”

A loss to the Giants this evening (heavens forbid!) would leave the Buccaneers alone in the NFC South basement.

Yes, the New Orleans Saints now head into their bye week 2-2 after punishing the Dolphins this morning 20-0 in England.

It was a stinker of a first half with loads of penalties and sloppy play, but the Saints were dominant following a 3-0 halftime lead.

Carolina (2-1) is at New England (2-1) at 1 p.m. The undefeated Falcons (3-0) hosts Buffalo (2-1), also at 1 o’clock. Joe sure hopes the AFC East mans up better than Jay Cutler did today.

As for the Bucs, Joe will keep it simple. The Giants are bad. The Bucs think they are good and are riding a five-game home winning streak. Tampa Bay absolutely has to find a victory today with the Patriots looming on Thursday.

Last place, led by the Mike-Evans-Attitude, enabled by the Glazer-Dirk-philosophy of respecting their feelings, is about 7 short hours away. The high point of my day is I did $200 better total than my $250 ticket average by selling my “All New West Club” tix, and I stay dry and don’t have to regret going to the game later.

  2. tmaxcon Says:

As long as the face of the basement years cancer93 is on roster the bucs will not compete. The losing culture must be eradicated and it starts with the mentally weak and physically soft leader of the losing culture cancer93

    No Kwon no defensive heart

  3. Roy T. Buford Says:

@tmaxcon…I disagree…GMC is a top DT in the NFL, and his heart and attitude have always been there. My concern is he can’t stay healthy, and he’s not getting any younger. It’s not his fault he’s on a team that for his career, has placed losers and throwbacks around him.

  4. tmaxcon Says:

He accepts and celebrates losses and is more fragile than tinker bell. Sorry the results have proven gmc is not a winner good player yes but nothing more. Only results that matter is win loss record everything else is irrelevant or an excuse. Your highest paid players must set the tone simple as that

  5. TeddyTB Says:

Roy how about a comment actually about the game. We do need this win and these RBs have to do better. The patriots are coming and we already know Brady doesn’t even play the radio so we better bring it today. I need some Damn Sacks today boys!

  6. Roy T. Buford Says:

@TeddyTB…I actually do have plenty of comments about the game out there. I’d like to make them ALL about the game(s). But I’m not the one bringing the protests/politics into the game–those who SHOULD be playing it, and running it are.

  7. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

A loss today, plus the certain loss to the Patriots, will make us 1-3
The 82 Bucs did come back from an 0-3 start though.
I still see today as a MUST Win Game for us.
Wondering what we will do about Doug Martin on Monday ?
Will we re sign him, re sign him to a new contract, or simply cut him, and save the money ?

  8. Greg Says:

This is going to be a loss today, the giants have too much talent to go 0-4 and the Bucs don’t have a NFL quality run game or defense (due to all the injuries). Jamies will (as always) serve up some juicy turnovers. Giants 27 Bucs 17.

  9. AlteredEgo Says:

gosh…what a bunch of panicking estrogen

  10. Bucamania Says:

Bucs offense will step up today. Bucs win!!!

  11. Simeon97 Says:

This was a must win regardless because we are not beating the pats. So best is 2-2 after 4

  12. LakeLandBuc Says:

Back To The Basement, where the Bottom Feeders Belongs.

  13. bucs_365 Says:

The clubbing last week sobered me on Jameis and this season. Jameis is still an interception machine until he proves otherwise. We have no running game, we have no pass rush, and we have no pass coverage. Hoping to be surprised.

  14. Kobe Faker Says:

Kobe Faker will shriek naked downtown lakeland if OJ Stocker gets 2 receptions today

“Desperate times calls for desperate measure”

    Kobe Faker

  15. bucnut2 Says:

The return to the Den of Depression.

  16. The Buc Realist Says:

Why waste everyone’s time kobe liar????? you lied on statements last year!!!!! The day kobe faker became kobe liar!!!!!!!!!

    “Kobe Faker Says:

Yes, i will sacrifice myself in behalf the the tampa bay bucs.

If tampa wins i will not post here ever again”

Then Tampa proceed to trounce KC!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  17. TeddyTB Says:

I didn’t think our pre-game message boards would be so negative and depressing after only one loss. And yeah sure the Pats are the heavy favorites but get off their nuts last time i checked they weren’t unbeatable. Y’all coochies need to listen to some motivational speeches before kick off and get that lame ass energy away from our bucs.

  18. darin Says:

    Roy
Mike evans attitude? The only guy i saw who showed some fire last week as they were getting their asses kicked…yeah Id love some more guys to have that attitude. I dont agree with the protests but i really only care about how they play football. I have never looked up to athletes to see how to act on social situations, nor any situation Sell your tickets, sell your soul, sell out, sell whatever u want but dont try to sell us your bs attitude.. Lets win a football game. Go Bucs

  19. LakeLandBuc Says:

lol Kobe Faker…I don’t understand the logic of holding onto Luke Stocker. They cut good, young players every season, yet they hold onto Luke Stocker.

  20. darin Says:

    Teddy
Right on buddy. Id hate to be them. Every bucs game ive ever watched i thought theyd win before it started. Thought thats what a fan was. Sad people. Anyway Teddy lets stay positive. Ill say Bucs 27-9. Go Bucs

  21. Mort Says:

Get the hell out of here with this week 3 “must-win” garbage. Sure, would significantly help. That being said, you’re being dramatic. Step off the ledge.

  22. tmaxcon Says:

    AlteredEgo

Relality is a scary place. Maybe when you labia heals you can toughen up and accept bucs have played horrible and the players you worship are not all that

  23. NOSBOS Says:

All of sudden he looks no where near like Case Montana but more like who he really is. Case kennum. Has 5 completions thru a half.

  24. tmaxcon Says:

It is a Fine line in being positive and living in denial

  25. NOSBOS Says:

    Make that 7. 109 yards.

  26. JonBuc Says:

When was the last time the Bucs actually won a “must win” game?! January 2013?! The Bucs are gonna get worked over like a bucket of beers and platter of wings at Abe’s by the Joes’…

  27. LakeLandBuc Says:

NOSBOS, the Old Man Julius Peppers has 3.5 sacks on the season. I don’t know why the Bucs never sign any of these old school Edge Rushers. They can teach our sackless Edge Rushers and give us production.

  28. NOSBOS Says:

Makes one wonder doesn’t it Lakeland.

  29. Reach87 Says:

Tmax, watch your language. No class with that talk. How did your visit go with mccoy? What we all thought…moron.

  30. SB Says:

    What’s Good Fellas!!!!
I don’t know about the rest of you but I’m ready for a win today!!!
    GO BUCS!!!!!!!!

  31. SB Says:

    @Reach…………………….Uber moron!

  32. Roy T. Buford Says:

Darin, I hope the Bucs win. I’m in it for more than 12 grand a year, and been a Bucs fan for life? Sell tix, sell my soul? Actually, no. That’s the point…some things are more important. And to respond to Mike Evans attitude…the fire had by kicking objects on the sidelines and pushing over bins and looking like an a$$ on TV is the WRONG kind of fire. This is episode three for Team Captain Evans. I’m not the one who will let you win a game. I flew up there last week to the debacle in Minneapolis…you need to get the bad eggs to play better football. Get your thoughts straight!

  33. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    @SB

Im right there with you brother, I’ve had a tough week. A win would truly be a blessing.

  34. tmaxcon Says:

    Reach87

Watch my language… Lol go back to your SAFESPACE

  35. Couch Fan Says:

We are 1-1. This is a huge game for momentum but its not a must win. Stop it.

  36. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Speaking for Pablo

“Win or lose Pablo be there to dance for the fans. Pablo will give a free dance to Tmax……Pablo remembers Tmax last time…….sequined mini-skirt, red pumps and a giant Adam’s apple.
Pablo likes Buc fans after a win better than a loss…..drunker, happier, tip better…..except for Realist.”

  37. LakeLandBuc Says:

Sean McDermott and Leslie Frazier has the Bills defense all over Matty Ice and the Falcons.

  38. The Buc Realist Says:

    @Pablo

That is because you only mowed half my lawn and stole mango’s off my tree, then tried to pretend like you did not understand English anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  39. Rob Says:

I sure hope I’m wrong but I fear that the Human ATM, (America’s Turnover Machine), Jameis Winston, will turn the ball over 2-3 times through interceptions or fumbles and make it nearly impossible for the Bucs to win. I say we run the ball the majority of the time and take a few shots deep. Jameis usually overthrows on the deep ball so maybe Jackson or Evans can snatch one or two and score without risking too much. At least a deep interception will be like a punt. We absolutely have to get a big game from Spence and McCoy in regards to getting pressure on Manning and create defensive turnovers somehow. Otherwise the Bucs get spanked and will be 1-3 after Thursday’s game with the Patriots. MUST win today to save the season. Go Bucs!

  40. Rrsrq Says:

Looks like Panthers bout to take down the Pats

  41. EA Says:

I too have a feeling they will run the ball a lot, like they did last year in Carolina on Monday night.

  42. mark2001 Says:

I remember when the Saints were signing Peterson, that I said that without upgrading the run game, there was a chance we could end up in the basement. Of course, I received the scorn of many folks, but my pewter and red glasses aren’t always working and I sometimes see other possibilities than playoff certainties… admittedly something I didn’t want to see. As we all know, in this league, the margin of first and last place is a handful of games…and we definitely need one of these two next games, and have to bury NO and/or Carolina two times this year, and split with Atlanta.

  43. O-town Says:

SOB!!! Sam old Bucs – smh
