Kwon And Lavonte Say They Will Play In Arizona

October 6th, 2017

Returning

Good news emanated from your Tampa Bay Buccaneers locker room last night.

For those who didn’t listen to the Ira Kaufman Podcast this morning — shame on you! — Tampa Bay’s only Hall of Fame voter spoke to injured Kwon Alexander (hamstring) and Lavonte David (ankle) after the loss to the Patriots.

Without the colorful Ira storytelling, both linebackers told Ira they would return to the field in Arizona for the Bucs’ next game Oct. 15. Ira reminded Kwon that he quickly said he was good to go against Minnesota three games ago and hasn’t been seen since. Kwon shot back that he didn’t lie about that when he said it but things medically changed.

Joe’s going to swallow this news whole and pretend it’s the equivalent of a fresh baked bagel and cream cheese on this gloomy Friday morning.

The Bucs really need the big-play ability of Kwon and/or David.

Sounds good but if you ask Kwon, he is going to play every week.

  2. Stud Says:

I’ll believe it when I see it. Kwon said after Week 2 Bears game he’d play at the Vikings…

  3. Cover Deuce Says:

Hamstrings are tricky, so I’m glad they’re taking precautions not to aggravate it. Kwon needs that leg healthy all year, not just a couple games.

  4. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Well can both of those stud LBs say Jameis will play better?

    I don’t think so

  5. JB Says:

Kwon was saying he’d play all week before last nights game. I’ll believe it when I see it.

  6. Dewey Selmon Says:

    Can either one kick?

  7. Cgmaster27 Says:

Bucs anthem you’re getting boring trolling at this point. Go pick another QB to bitch about. Closet mariota fan?

  8. JB Says:

We would of won last night if Dirk had called a better game, and Good Jameis had shown up. Kwon and Lavonte’s replacements played fairly well against the top offense in the league last night. Okay we also need a kicker.

  9. sorryitriggeredyou Says:

Don’t rush these guys back. This team is gonna be ok and not better with 1/2 a Kwon and David. Let this get better come back in November.

  10. JB Says:

Why haven’t we heard about the dozen or so kickers they should have at One Buc right now?

  11. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    LOL

I’m sure by this afternoon we will hear folk is released and they signed another kicker from Australia 😉

  12. NJBucsFan Says:

    can they kick FGs?

  13. kent kleist Says:

    Can either of them kick?

  14. Couch Fan Says:

I dont care who they sign as kicker as long as Folk is gone. At least try to get better because it will be hard to get any worse.

  15. Mike Johnson Says:

Great news. We will need them against the AZ Cards. Arizona’s QB Carson is only one hard body shot away from retirement. If you look at all of their games thus far? The teams that were able to rush and put pressure on him won. Those that could not..Loss Bigtime. I did see flashes of rush improvement last night. But Carson is just as accurate as Brady people..given time. I hope our pass rush is finally waking up somewhat. Its Key.

  16. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    @ Couch Fan

So bring back Kyle Brindza and Robert Aquayo for a kicking competition again???????

  17. sorryitriggeredyou Says:

@Mike Johnson – Carson is another Keenum for this team LOL I think Buffalo is a better matchup for the D. Bucs can easily win both these next games or lose. Depends all the Dline rush you are exactly right.

    Can either one kick?

    ****

    LMAO

  19. Couch Fan Says:

    @BucsAnthem

As sad as it is, I’d take either one of them right now over Folk.

  20. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

Any chance we can get a Best Available Free Agent Kickers article? Just a request….

  21. Roy T. Buford Says:

Dang, why? Looks like their backups did just fine! Of course, just kidding, as we were lucky Gronk was out. But I was very proud of the D as a whole yesterday. If we can only get Jameis able to play on a Thursday night. Once again, a sick D gets well with the Bucs. But for our part, would be great to get the to LBs and two S’s back for sure. We should have had the game last night, but happy we are 2-2 (I’d expected 3-2 with a win over MIA originally), have a 10 days between games, and don’t seem to have come out last night with major injuries.

  22. Roy T. Buford Says:

As for kickers, so sick of the saga. We know Folk CAN kick because he HAS done it. To think we let guys like Kai Forbath and Mike Nugent go…

  23. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Don’t forget we’ve let go Conor Barth and Matt Bryant and both of those kickers have went on to have good careers with other teams

  24. Capt.Tim Says:

Our Strongside linebacker linebacker plays less than 50% of the defensive snaps.
Do we put Beckwith on the bench, half the time?
    David? Kwon?
    Tough choice, huh

  25. Joel Says:

I’ll believe it when I see it. Both of these guys need to man up and suit up. Not playing last night was a joke. Even if they both play at Arizona, neither will last the entire game.

    #55 didn’t miss games.

Why wasn’t Gronk playing last night? Bruise on his thigh? These guys are turning into baseball players.

  26. SOEbuc Says:

We now have the ability to shift Kwon with Beckwith more than often with Kwon having the hammy. They said at the beginning LVD would be week to week. I’m definitely thinking TJ Ward will be back. Be very nice if we can have all these guys back and ready to go. We shall see in ten days. Until then I’m watching the beginning of the Lightning regular season. GO BUCS!!! GO BOLTS!!!

  27. Topcoach1978 Says:

What about Mr. Sore Hip Ward? Smh

  28. mike10 Says:

I love it…. but i’ll believe it when I see it

  29. LakeLand Says:

The Linebackers are not the problem. Glanton and Beckwith has been playing good. It don’t take a genius to see the problems.

  30. FortMyersDave Says:

On the kicking situation; its perplexing isn’t it? I think one has to look at the special teams coach as I would bet that many of the kickers the Bucs have run off have had better stats wherever they went if they did get another opportunity to kick somewhere. Its like the Rays when they had a P!ss poor hitting coach by the name of Derek Shelton; Joe Maddon loved the guy but the rays must have set a record for being shutout, no hit, and one hit during the guy’s tenure and when a batter got traded or DFA’s by the Rays the cut player would suddenly turn into a hitting machine. Swapping kickers is not working, the Bucs need to start looking at the coaching, it can not hurt as the kicking game is worst now then it was with Schiano or Lovie and that is unacceptable.
