Koetter Is Impressed

October 20th, 2017

Happy Bucs coach.

Joe isn’t sure what exactly got winning Bucs coach Dirk Koetter to smile, but safe to suggest he’s happy as hell America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, is ready to rock Sunday.

Good guy John Sabol of WFTS-TV Channel 28 was out at Bucs practice this morning.

During the workout, as documented by Rock Riley, Jameis unleashed a line drive that caught Rock. Let’s just say, in the immortal words of Bob Uecker, Jameis’ pass was just a bit outside.

Watching the errant pass, Koetter burst out into a giddy laugh.

Again, Joe’s not sure what Koetter enjoyed more, that Jameis showed off his cannon or that the pass forced members of the local pen and mic club to scatter for cover.

Or perhaps Koetter enjoyed both elements of Jameis’ pass?

Oh…….that’s Koetter laughing in Glee like a little school girl who has a crush on a boy in the lunch room cafeteria

  2. Bculaw Says:

Any chance that was intentional? JW didnā€™t seem concerned where that pass finished, and Dirk sure seemed happy about its ultimate destination. Not saying Rock deserved to be ā€œdownrange.ā€ Was Tom Jones in attendance, by chance?

  3. Mike Johnson Says:

I sincerely hope we see that Cute Grin Ketter is wearing today during the Bill/Bucs postgame conference come Sunday. If not, The GRUDEN train will be gathering more steam.

  4. Pit Says:

    It seems intentional.

  5. tmaxcon Says:

koetter was smiling because jason licht was in his earpiece telling him he had a sucker aka trade partner for cancer93 and his mentally weak losing ways. only way to fix the losing culture and end captain blowouts reign of terror on the win loss record is to ship his clown arse out of town.

  6. tmaxcon Says:

there will never ever be a gruden train in tamapa. i will admit i am finding it very entertaining the gruden speculation. people speaking about his comeback obviously have not looked at his earnings the past years. coaching is not the problem… the problem is mentally weak leadership on defense simple as that.

  7. J 2.0 Says:

It all starts in Buffalo. We got kicked in the teeth and it is time to recover. Defense will hold Buffalo to 24 points and Jameis will lead the good guys to 38.

    TB: 38 BUF: 24

    Book it.

  8. Blake_Bucsfan Says:

Only in Tmax’s pea brained perspective…

Vernon gets abused all season long, its cancer93 hurr durr.

  9. J 2.0 Says:

Also. Gerald was on that same team that closed out the year 8-2 last season.

  10. TSKRILLA813 Says:

@tmaxcon U are the biggest troll. Say it when he has not produced. Hes a 3 technique that everybody besides you rate as top 5 in the league easily. He’s been leading by example especially this season. You cant have played football before to understand the idiocy your spewing. Mcoy must’ve cut you off in traffic or something. lol

  11. J 2.0 Says:

    6 – 2 whatever.

  12. Blake_Bucsfan Says:

little does the idiot know that GMC is the only drafted player on our Roster to have more than one winning season.

Idiot. I’d bet if you were a New orleans pelicans fan, you would blame Anthony Davis for not getting to the playoffs.

  13. John Says:

Joe, can you look the other way and block Tmax from this site. Enough of his BS week after week.

    -everybody

  14. BucFanFromOH Says:

Pretty sure he’s blamed Gerald for the kicking at some point too. He’s just a troll begging for attention.

  15. Issic Haggins Says:

Tmax blame the organization , McCoy will be what he is coached to be!!! He has been told since day one to disrupt and all coaches have coddled him !!! He needs tƓ be told and coached to make plays!!!

If you had football IQ youd know gmc was giving much more effort last week than dirk himself. Grow up, gmc is good. If lichts gona ship anyone outa town after last week itd be the coach who quit before halftime. I doubt licht liked that much, having worked in arz so many years.

  17. tmaxcon Says:

gmc has never won a meaningful game in his entire career… raise your standards and stop defending the smiling ice cream man and his losing ways…. it’s all smoke and mirrors and you low standard fans have fallen hook line and sinker for smiles and nice guy BS all while the loses adding up… captain blowout is a clown just like the low standard fans who make excuses for him nonstop…. not a single meaningful win in 8 years and he has quit and laid down like a cheap date for 4 coaches. 4 coaches let me say it again 4 coaches… the losing culture is real and led by cancer93 the face of the basement years. down deep you people can not be that stupid not to see the pattern.

  18. DicStillwagin Says:

I just want to see Winston get back to spreading the ball around and taking what the defense gives him. I was starting to see that more and more from him last year as the season went along, but this year, not so much. I actually see him slowly regressing. His technique is starting to falter as passes are starting to sail or are behind targets and he looks like he’s trying to force the ball to certain people when there’s just nothing there. I’m not even seeing him go through his progressions like he was last year.

  19. Ndog Says:

Here’s the issue with GMC. That one sack he had last week he played with anger and desire and it was clear to see. But the majority of the time he plays like he just wants to collect his check and go home. That is the issue and until he plays with that passion all the the fire he will get criticized.

  20. Chris Says:

What a putz. Its not the press’s fault you guys laid down like a cheap date from Hillsborough Ave. And Koetter smiles. This is starting to be the hardest Bucs team to root for. Dont know about you all, but having to come back from a chain whipping every year, much less two out of the last three games is wearing on me. Born and raised in Tampa, I was more proud of this team when they were talentless lovable losers, with place kickers whiffing on footballs rolling down the field than this whiny, underachieving, front running, paper non champions. You guys will still root for Jameis, cause he’s a Nole, and I will begrudgingly, but Im in no way in love with this team, like I was with the team in that era, and the successful Dungy/Gruden days after that. The attitude stinks on this team, and I in no way see this as a playoff team.Weak stuff.

  23. Doctor Stroud Says:

Coach Koetter is such a breath of fresh air, like a cool mountain breeze on a summer day with all of the doors and windows wide open.

  24. Bradentonbuc Says:

I sometimes wish GMC would leave so he could come back and show why he was so valuable. The hate is so unreal.
Yes, we haven’t done anything worthwhile since we drafted GMC. When people can present legit stats to back up their view, then I’ll listen. Until then I’ll remain a Bucs fan who knows his team has been starved of long lasting young talent (You know, the GM’s job) since the start of the gruden era. Gruden survived on old legs and veteran minds. Since then, when we got GMC, we been through four coaches and 2 GM’s. And that’s the players fault? Ever thought that there was a big mess here that needed to be cleaned up and would take years? many of the readers here strike me as older people. You would think it would be plain as day that few things are solved overnight. Yes, 8 years is a long time. So is going your entire organizations history without 1 single starter at QB for more then 10 years.

  25. Doctor Stroud Says:

It seems that Coach Koetter is trying to get the team to adopt an Us v. The World approach. That includes the media. Whatever works, Coach! We’ll see against the Bills.

  26. NFLNut Says:

^ Someone predicted the Bucs will score 38 on the Bills? Um … the Bills are giving up 14.8 on the year and are at home … we need to bring our hard hats and lunch pails and WORK just to get 20 points …

  27. Pickgrin Says:

I hear that Tom Jones and Roy Cummings were standing next to each other talking – Koetter walked over and whispered in Winston’s ear – then the resulting play.

Of course Jameis’ inaccuracy caused him to miss his intended targets and Rock just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time – but Coach K still thought it was funny as hell because Jones, trying to get out of the way, bumped into Roy – spilling Cummings coffee all over both of them.

That’s the word from the sidelines at least….

  28. cmurda Says:

It’s nice to see Dirk with a smile on his face. It hasn’t happened on too many occasions after Bucs games.

  29. Rod Munch Says:

Dirk is a dope… 3rd and 2 and this dolt has Winston in an empty backfield shotgun and of course no one can get open and Winston gets hit and hurt.

He’s been terrible as a head coach, he can’t call an offensive game to save his life, the offense has zero flow, it makes no sense. Here’s a hint Dirk – when it’s 3rd and 2 don’t come out in an empty set shotgun formation since it completely removes the possibility of a run. You LOVE running up the middle on every first down, so here’s an idea, run up the middle on first down LESS and run up the middle on 3rd and short MORE! Also sometimes pretend you’re running up the middle and don’t – it’s called a PLAY ACTION PASS. It works, it really does, they’ve been running it for over 50 years – look into it.

Here’s another idea Dirk, on 3rd and 2 if you insist on trying to get your QB killed by putting them in shotgun, how about you run a bubble screen from time to time. I know you know what a bubble screen is since you ran it 85% of the time in Atlanta.

Seriously since Dirk has become head coach it seems like he has completely forgotten how to coach the offense. There was a reason last offseason there was talk of getting him an OC – and I think it’s pretty obvious he needs someone because he’s overwhelmed as HC.

  30. Hawaiian Buc Says:

“Hereā€™s the issue with GMC. That one sack he had last week he played with anger and desire and it was clear to see. But the majority of the time he plays like he just wants to collect his check and go home. That is the issue and until he plays with that passion all the the fire he will get criticized”

    ———

If this is true, why is he ALWAYS rated among the top 2 or 3 at his position? You can look at PFF, you can ask his teammates, you can ask his coaches, you can ask his opponents, or you can ask the other team’s coaches – they all say the same thing. So why should anyone listen to some no name person on a blog site to know more than everyone else? It just doesn’t make logical sense.

This is just one of those things that there is a clear right and wrong. All the people who have any kind of football background know how good GMC is, and all the no name losers who got cut from their JV team think otherwise. Hmmmmm, I think I’m going to side with the people who know what they are talking about. But go ahead and repeat your same old tired, boring, ignorant, lie of an argument. It really might one day be worth something.

  31. GhostofSchiano Says:

Any reports on whether or not Mike Smith was smiling? Was Hargraves covering and that why he was out of camera range?

All jokes aside this defense has regressed, it is nothing like late last year, and if they do not return to that form we could be looking at 5-11 or 6-10. Get it together BUCS!

p.s. I have seen TMAXCON at a number of games wearing #93’s jersey with pride.

  32. Broy34isTiredofComplainersLikeAnthem Says:

Wow Tmax. U can turn a Koetter is impressed into your narrative. That one was impressive. Congrats on still being the most pathetic fan of the team

  33. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Listen guys, let’s not hate on Tmax. He has no friends, no woman, and no life. This is the only place he can go to get attention. It’s really just a cry for help. I hope it works out for him.

  34. unbelievable Says:

I will still donate to the gofundme for tmax.

The guy really needs to get laid…

Then maybe, just maybe, he’ll stop copy + pasting the same boring rant into the comment section of every single article, regardless of the subject.

  35. Bird Says:

    Tmaxathon-

The article could be about the kicker or about what players are doing in the community Doesn’t matter to you cause it’s your chance to talk crap about McCoy Dude. We get it. You can’t stand him. Let it go.

I wish he could meet you in person and take a nice big dump right on your chin so you could savor it for a while

  39. Seminole Bill Says:

Sunday’s game will be decided in the first quarter. Which Buc team shows up to play? If it is a repeat of last weekend, we’re in big trouble, not just on Sunday but for the rest of the year. Don’t forget…the stinkin’ Panthers come to town the week after.

Let’s wait and see how he perform Sunday against the Bills. Everyone looks good in a workout.

  42. Zwak Says:

Heā€™s Drunk and I canā€™t blame him! I had very high hopes for this season..

  43. Defense Rules Says:

GhostofSchiano … “The guy (tmaxcon) really needs to get laid”. Got a hunch that tmaxcon has been screwed a bunch in his life Ghost … he’s focusing an undue amount of ‘dislike’ towards a single player. Most of the JBF commenters know better than to feed his GMC rants, but enough do so he’ll just continue on. That’s a shame too, because every once in awhile he actually contributes something constructive. Hard to find any ‘gems’ like that amongst the manure.

  44. Buccaneer scotty Says:

Start Humphreys can’t do any worse lol

  45. Captain Big Stick Says:

did dirk call plays from the booth before being HC? maybe that’s the problem, the sideline stuff has him to distracted to make effective play calls…

I do question some of his play calls.. especially in and around the goal line, but I think we all know player execution is just not there yet. Unfortunately, on both sides of the ball..

  46. unbelievable Says:

    Lol ghost!

Not sure if he’d be able to get off that way! Then again, maybe it’s a secret fantasy. It would explain the obsession…

  47. big daddy 58 Says:

j 2.0 38 points Really? Apparently you havent watched the bills defense this year. Buccaneers 20 Bills 17 .

  48. BigHogHaynes Says:

Once again T max is barking up the wrong tree! What hapoened to coaching the LOVIE out of them! As a unit this Defense continues to be a weak link on this team but you continue to call out only GMC93 as the reason for the losing culture of this team…LOVIE & GMC93 equaled losing culture..who are you going to put with or what coach will you put with GMC93 for our losing ways this year….pick one!

  49. NFLNut Says:

The bet placer in me thinks Bills 20, Bucs 16 … but my heart says Bucs 23, Bills 20
