All 50 of Martins yards were after contact, and he had a handful of really solid, full effort runs.
What game were you Geriatric gentlemen watching?
Might want to get out of that spreadsheet once in a while, son. –Joe

  2. tmaxcon Says:

you keep using the words malcontent Joes maybe they are just don’t accept losing as easy as buc fan and buc media does

  3. tmaxcon Says:

at least i cant be called a hypocrite by joe I hate both the hold over career losers equally. both 22 and 93 are part of the problem not the solution. both are proven career losers and simply a waste of time.

  4. Blake_Bucsfan Says:

    @Joe

One of you, namely the most eccentric, erratic, and opinionated of you, during this podcast; Went on a rant and said that Rb’s get yards without blocking. If the man got every single one of his yards after first contact, what does that tell you hombre?
You guys are so biased sometimes.
“First contact” is can be subjective and is often highly meaningless. –Joe

  5. unbelievable Says:

tmax by your definition every single guy on this team is a career loser except the 2016 draft picks (arguably the worst draft class of Licht’s tenure).

See how dumb that logic is?

We should just blow up the whole thing, again, right?

I know I know, if only we got rid of the 1 single productive defensive lineman we currently have, then everything else would be solved and we’d start winning!

  6. Joe Says:

You guys are so biased sometimes.

The Joes (both of them) are very much biased in favor of production. If you call “bias” being against a player who doesn’t produce, not only guilty as charged, but proud of it!

Of course it is for the sake of your argument.

  8. Blake_Bucsfan Says:

Perfect example of how biased this website is.

    https://www.joebucsfan.com/2017/09/no-martin-no-problem/
1st game Quizz averages 3.5 yards per carry, and is referred to as “Bell-cow like.”

    https://www.joebucsfan.com/2017/10/186927/
After AZ game, in which the defense gave Arizona 31 free points, and Doug Averaged 3.8 ypc, is referred to as “rather pedestrian.
    Makes you wonder…
Look, Joe’s looking at the runs and the game and the situations. You might be looking at something else. JoeBucsFan.com is driven by opinion and analysis, in addition to the news. Analysis and opinion is bias, Joe doesn’t claim otherwise. Sure, Joe is absolutely biased but not in the way you are representing. Joe is a Bucs fan, and everything you read here is colored by that bias and Bucs-love prejudice. Please find a new site to visit daily if you’re unhappy here. –Joe

  9. ClodHopper Says:

Anyone notice the people that get mad about the losing are first year guys? Jameis at the end of his rookie year. Me. Beating last year. Now it’s Swaggy and Ward. Seems like the longer they are here the less the losing matters to them. I wonder if there is a guy who has been here a long time and gets more mad at fans and former teammates than he does the losing. Hmmm Whonfits that description?

  10. Kenny Says:

I didnt think Martin looked bad… I thought he looked like a good running back going against 8 man fronts and a bad run blocking line. He was getting hit taking his handoff almost every time he got the ball.

  11. Joe Says:

I didnt think Martin looked bad…

He got some nice production on a couple of short passes.

  12. Blake_Bucsfan Says:

    @Joe

No siree I watch every play of every game. And I saw some good running from Martin vs. the Bills #1 Defense. And saw numerous occasions where Doug literally had to fight through contact just to get back to the line. If any other RB we had on the roster played on those snaps, they would have been taken down for negative yards.

I really have no clue why it’s so hard for you to see that.

Having said all of that, I’d still take Saquon Barkley in less than a millisecond if he’s available at the end of April/ Beginning of May 2018

  13. briandorry55 Says:

Maybe you guys can do a little work outside of blogging and talking and break down some film to show us all of the opportunities that Martin missed.

Devonta Freeman averaged 3.2 ypc against the Bills…Joe Mixon 3.4 yards…Christian McCaffrey 1.1 ypc…Jonathan Stewart 2.7 ypc. Nobody is running successfully against Buffalo. Doug Martin ran his @ss off. You’ll criticize him 100 times for every time I have every heard you criticize one of our lineman for crappy blocking.

  14. unbelievable Says:

Blake you are 100% spot on.

The J0es won’t ever admit it though, that “opinion” has been set in stone on this site. I don’t even bother anymore. The quote about “first contact being subjective” just further proves that. After all, the Bucs had the MOST running plays stuffed behind the LOS last year. But that is not on the o-line…

Clod- you now in the GMC hating club too I see. Serious question, do you really think 1 guy being passive can impact the attitude of 52 others? Especially personalities like Kwon and Jameis?

  15. tmaxcon Says:

    unbelievable

I appreciate the majority of new bucs from Evans on…. It’s the holdovers who never have or never will have the drive and determination to end the losing culture and become winners. they have plenty of time to prove otherwise. out with the old in with the need. get rid of gmc, martin, dotson and watch the young guys flourish take the next step….

you guys need to go back and read some of the box scores for all the blowouts before you keep supporting proven losers.

  16. ClodHopper Says:

His soft attitude doesn’t need to infect everyone. Just a few. Jameis had one of his best games ever as a pro. We lost. A win could have easily been just one guy having a bit more want-to and got a sack at the right time. Just a couple more yards. It takes an entire team to win, but can take only a few “malcontents” to lose

Why don’t try reading what I write sometimes instead of rewriting everything I say into a hyperbole?

  17. Pepsi Says:

Lee give it a break, Martin looked stellar in his first game back and youre response was “martin was okay” on Iras podcast. as soon as his YPC is below 4 yards you brag about how you were right about him. The reason why all the “freaks” on twitter and this site have been disagreeing with you is because we all have eyes to see Martin has the juice, and hes fighting to just pass the LOS in the last 2 games. the one game the run blocking looked good he averaged around 6 yards a carry. Is Martin historically reliable? Not at all. Is martin currently a very good RB until he gets hurt or makes a bad life decision again? Absolutely is evident for all of us. You had a case when you referred to him as unreliable, but youve pivoted that stance to now call him a simply bad and ineffective runner, thats why were all calling you annoying biased.

  18. dm4bucs Says:

@ one Joe – Are we really complaining about Martin against a very strong Buffalo run defense that ranks 4th overall in the NFL?

Can you really not see why people are all over GMC? He is the “C” of the defense that has been completely spanked in multiple years. One player can’t do it all, but at the same time accountability starts with the captain for effort or lack there of. You may respond with what about the coaches, but this has happened under multiple coaches already, so how about we pass on switching coaches just this time…

  19. Joe Says:

Lee give it a break, Martin looked stellar in his first game back

Sorry Pepsi. “Stellar” is what Adrian Peterson did to the Bucs.

  20. Pepsi Says:

    @ dm4bucs

also, ive never heard one person in my life say “cut” or “release” mccoy. Thats not a thing and never has been. There are some who believe his trade-value may be better for the Bucs than his value to the DLine is, as weve had a terrible Dline his whole career even when hes played great. I was one who said “trade McCoy” when Bosa was in the draft. Theres was not a player on our team that could probably have gotten us to move up in the draft to select someone like Bosa besides McCoy and I thought our team would be better with Bosa and average or even subpar DTs then a great DT and 0 DEs. So again, nobody says cut McCoy, theyre saying trade him IF his trade value is actually very high. Calling this kind of talk hypocritical, because we dont share the same feeling about Doug Martin, is either idiocy or a complete lack of understanding what we’re saying. Maybe Joe/Lee can clarify which one it is.

  21. Pepsi Says:

“Sorry Pepsi. “Stellar” is what Adrian Peterson did to the Bucs.”

AP vs Bucs – 5.2 yards per carry
    Martin’s first week – 5.6 ypc

and youre the one who seems willing to say “martin sucks” based on his YPC

  22. Kenny Says:

WAR in Baseball has nothing to do with how many wins or losses the team had, Lee, Steve, Ira.

  23. dm4bucs Says:

@Pepsi, I completely agree on trading and not cutting McCoy. I want the draft picks to load up on DE/CB/OT in next year’s draft. Then, get sign a bigger DT to go with what M.Smith likes to do up front ala Jax days.

  24. unbelievable Says:

wow clod you are a little sensitive today huh? I was asking you a very simple and honest question, based on your comment here and other comments from you yesterday.

It’s not like I was making fun of your brain-dead, alternative-fact political views. Settle down sally.

  25. Bucs Nihilist Says:

If you watched this game and didn’t think Martin ran his arse off, you’re wrong or just biased (please see all of the GMC haters). The run game was effective judging by play action working the entire 2nd half. The only people I heard criticizing Martin against the Bills, was on this pod.
