DJax Breakout

October 13th, 2017

Time to pounce.

A number of Bucs fans are moaning like they have a perpetual toothache.

They wear out the ear of their favorite bartender, turn off their neighbors and puzzle the high school girl behind the counter at Publix because of their non-stop griping about DeSean Jackson.

The Bucs paid a boatload of Team Glazer loot for Jackson to bring explosive plays, bombs aplenty and piles of touchdowns to the Bucs offense. Thus far, Bucs fans have seen very little of this.

Of course, they blame Jameis.

Well, the irritation should clear up this weekend, believes Field Yates of BSPN. Yates is of the mind the Cardinals defense is vulnerable to a big-strike offense and Jackson should take full advantage.

@Field Yates: Cardinals have allowed NFL-high 5 pass TD that traveled 15+ yards in the air. Pat Peterson likely checking Mike Evans. Prime DeSean game?

Careful, grasshopper. While the numbers may say one thing, Joe is of the mind this is a trap. First, who says Patrick Peterson will man up on Mike Evans all game? There’s also another guy in the defensive backfield for Arizona by the name of “Honey Badger,” Tyrann Mathieu.

Yeah, the Cardinals give up yards in the pass defense, but the Bucs better be careful who not to throw the ball at.

Even assuming he does, I still say a trade to the Giants who have DE and CB depth would be a win/win.

  2. BucEmUp Says:

Djax can get open on anyone…Jameis is the one not putting it in the right spot.

  3. LakeLand Says:

Both teams are good against the run…It may come down to the pass rush.

  4. SOEbuc Says:

Throw the ball to whoever is in the best position. Sorry Jameis is not able to put it where it needs to be on a streak down the sideline. Have DJax run that 15-yard slant like last week and take it to the dome from there. Jameis can put those on the money.

SlackJac needs to keeps his non tipping $$S out of the casino & practice with Wiston a lot more.

Cant believe you guys want to trade D-Jax now. Our team need some time.

“Sorry Jameis is not able to put it where it needs to be on a streak down the sideline.”

Did it plenty in OTAs / Training Camp.

How many bombs has he tried where Djax was open and he should have hit him? A couple maybe? It’s really not as many as people would think… it’s a low % throw…

  8. Pickgrin Says:

DJax has 249 yards through 4 games. Exactly on pace for a 1000 yard season opposite one of the best receivers in football.

The “disconnect” is not nearly as prevalent as so many are suggesting.

Jameis has misfired a couple times on long balls to DJax and DeSean has dropped a catchable ball or 2 in the same circumstances. Any of those plays get made and we probably aren’t even talking about it.

The big plays between these 2 will come – sooner than later. I’m quite sure of that.

“who says Patrick Peterson will man up on Mike Evans all game? There’s also another guy in the defensive backfield for Arizona by the name of “Honey Badger,” Tyrann Mathieu.”

Honey Badger is 5’9″. Evans has 8″ and almost 50lbs on Mathieu. I’d throw to Evans 15-20 times this game with that matchup if this silly notion happens to be Arians’ secret master plan for trying to contain our passing game.

  10. Lord Cornelius Says:

Agree Pickgrin. You’d think Winston missed Djax like every game a few times on a wide open throw or something.

I can recall 1 play where Djax was wide open and Jameis just missed him – the Vikings interception. That was terrible lol but the only time I can recall him being wide open. I believe there was another play either vs the Pats or Giants down the right sideline that looked like it should have been a big completion.

That’s all I recall. He’s thrown it deep to him a few times in double coverage where he was obviously throwing it away. And DJax could have had a TD on one other play that I think was Djax fault. Not to mention him falling / being knocked over on his route causing another Vikings interception.

As long djax in his ear…….. don’t force it JW. Let it come naturally

  12. Lamarcus Says:

Idk care if djax doesn’t get a target as long as we win. Djax bitching after the gaints win got me like …whatever man

  13. Buccaneer scotty Says:

Trade the crying baby to the Giants we don’t need Winston forcing him the ball he’s a bitch! Dump his ass!

  14. BucFanFromOhio Says:

Forget all the haters DJax. Here’s to your 1000 season in the making!

Pickgrin with the most sensible post of the day.

Jackson disgraced the flag and anthem along with Baker
    Cut both next year
I would rather lose without them

Finally a few people realizing that a 50 yard bomb down the sideline is not a strength of Jameis. I will take the many 30 yard darts he throws in tight windows. Very low percentage so guess what Dirk Diggler, do more slants like u when u FINALLY realized with 6 minutes to go against the Pats that u can throw a short slant route and he is still fast enough to get 41 yards on a 8 yard pass. This is on the HC/ play caller to minimize the weaknesses and max Jameis’s strengths, are there for more strengths than weaknesses. Dirk also needs to stop throwing his Qb under the bus and look in the freaking mirror. Also Jameis needs to STOP always blaming himself whenever we lose. I don’t care if Djax & Mike Evans combine for 20 yards receiving as long as we win!!

More time practicing, less time trying to figure out how you are oppressed when you drive a Lamborghini.

  19. Capt.Tim Says:

    It aint Madden

The kind of timing you all expect, takes years to develop. Arron Rodgers played with the same recievers for years, to become the sniper.

    It isnt just Jameis, either.
Desean adjust his speed, trying to adjust. Those long throws are timed, abd thrown to a spot. To get the Ball and Jackson 40 yards downfield, 5 yards off the sideline, in exactly 2.5 seconds-
Well, it takes almost surgical precision.
You dont get that in 4 games and one preseason.

But the only football they’ve ever played was on the couch, with a joystick!

That said, my only complaint is this.
Desean could have helped get the timing down, if he would have been here for offseason voluntary workouts.
Since he was too busy- hes got absolutely no right to complain about being under used

  20. Capt.Tim Says:

    Ugh
” I know some people disagree, but the only Foitball they’ve played was on the couch, with a Joystick!!”

Dont know where the first part of that sentence went . . .

You got haters DJax….don’t worry, take a knee to protest injustice and then put on your hater blockers!!
