Owns the Bucs.

Consider the Giants a wounded animal.

The Giants have their season on the line when they enter the Den of Depression Sunday. Currently 0-3, a loss pretty much finishes their season.

And who is guiding the Giants? A guy who likely will be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame and also a guy who has never lost to the Bucs, Eli Manning.

The younger of the famous Manning brothers has two Super Bowl rings and is 5-0 versus Tampa Bay. Two games are memorable, a beatdown in Tampa in the 2007 playoffs, the last time the Bucs were in the postseason. The second was Week 2 of the 2012 season under then-Bucs commander Greg Schiano. Manning engineered a comeback for the ages as the Giants scored 25 fourth quarter points (!) to edge the Bucs 41-34 in New Jersey.

Manning bludgeoned the Bucs for 510 yards and three touchdowns. Joe is convinced to this day shady Eric Wright and granny-hasslin,’ gun-totin,’ cabbie-slugging, pistol-whipping Aqib Talib still experience sore necks on chilly mornings from getting turned around so badly by Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz, who combined for a ghastly 378 yards receiving.

That game marked a milestone in the history of JoeBucsFan.com as the gameday open thread that afternoon was the first post to ever hit the 1,000-comment mark. Fans went completely spastic at the flag football defense employed by defensive coordinator Bill Sheridan.

Joe almost dreads the thought. If Joe Montana Case Keenum can light up the Bucs defense as grotesquely as he did Sunday, what the hell do you think Manning can do with hind-leg-in-the-air Odell Beckham, Sterling Shepard and Brandon Marshall?

Could get real ugly…given how desperate the Giants are for their first win. This game will say a lot about what the 2017 Bucs are made of…

  2. Lamarcus Says:

No excuse …. this should be a monster game for gmc. Nothing more and nothing less. He has an advantage over their interior line. But I bet he gives us a ” meh” preformance. So we are doomed for a curb stomping come Sunday

  3. CautiousOptimism Says:

Can’t wait to see what this war machine of a pass rush meticulously crafted by Jason Licht will do to Eli Manning. I’m sure he is concerned.

  4. Gobucs Says:

    Couldn’t stop “Stephon diggs ”

Just what are they gonna do to stop obj and sterling shepard?

    My guess is not much.

  5. SB Says:

Love the “more cushion than a Serta factory” line from previous article Joe.
If we play that soft again I am turning the TV off lest I chunk a highball through it.

Lamarcus right on this is perhaps the worst OL in all of football, which if GMC is a as good as we are told then he should dominate or get doubled or tripled and allow others to cause problems….bring the house get VH3 man up all game on OBJ, if he gets beat it happens, but bring pressure to eli, get ward or conte on ingram and a fan from section 123 to take smith place and cover b marshall

  7. Mort Says:

My, how the bandwagoneers fans around here have turned after one loss.

We should get Chris Baker and Brent grimes back. That alone could and should make a MASSIVE difference. I know Kwon and LVD are out, but we have a good backup for both and can play some big nickel to help in base defense. I’m still excited for this season. Jamie’s needs to settle in and we will be fine. Go Bucs!

  8. Buc believer Says:

Also considering the atmosphere will be almost like a home game for the giants I am expecting us to get spanked pretty badly.

  9. ShutTheBucUp Says:

Oh boy.. that 2012 game… Good ol’ Schiano blew up the victory formation and pissed off the entire world. Lol.

  10. Dewey Selmon Says:

You think that’s bad? Tom Brady is 3-0 vs the Bucs.

  11. cmurda Says:

To add to the dismay here. The G Men have owned the Bucs as mentioned in the article and Case Keenum had owned the Bucs and continued the trend last Sunday. It’s scary to go into a game knowing the opponent has been your nemesis and said opponent is going to be desperate for a win. With all of that said, this is the worst Giants team I have seen in who knows how long. The game will tell us a lot about the Bucs as a team but most notably our D Line. Our D Line has been my constant complaint for a decade. I like Licht but he did nothing to improve our pass rush. The Giants easily have the worst O Line in the NFL. There is absolutely no excuse for our D Line to yet again fail to get constant pressure on the QB. The Giants have virtually no running game so they are pretty one dimensional. In addition, the Giants secondary is subpar. They do have a strong D Line but I feel we have a strong O Line and that could lead to some huge plays for D Jax, Evans and Godwin. It should be a pretty good game but I said the same thing about the Vikings game. For all the talk about this being a must win for the Giants, it is a must win for the Bucs as well. We will be dealing with Brady in a few short days after this one and if we fall to the Giants, we could be staring down the barrel of a 1-3 start.

You think that is bad?????? MG8 is undefeated against the Steelers!!!!! he owns them!!!!!!

The Buc Realist Says: “You think that is bad?????? MG8 is undefeated against the Steelers!!!!! he owns them!!!!!!”

But if you listen to Big Ben the L was all on the Steelers not sleeping well on Saturday night due to the fact that everyone on the team from Tomlin on down to the waterboy were “torn” over the National Anthem issue and thus handed the game to the Bears…. Got to hand it to Pittsburgh: thats an excuse that literally “trumps” all the BS that we have heard come out of One Buc after any bad loss. Ravens are using the “Maybe we should have flew to London a bit earlier than Friday….” Actually surprised the Bucs and Fins did not fall back on “Irma catching up with them after an emotional win”….

Excuses aside there is a reason that Eli owns the Bucs: overall better preperation, coaches who put together a well thought gameplan that attacks Tampa’s weaknesses as well as halftime adjustments which are things that have been non existent at One Buc since the Glazers said Bon Voyage to Chuckie. Hoping for a W but if you go by history it is simply an uphill battle and it may come down to which team wants it more and last week we saw a lack of desire and competiveness from our Bucs while the Giants fought tooth and nail to make a huge comeback in the 4th only to lose via 2 long late FGs by a rookie Eagle kicker (one 61 yards) and the Giants coaching not playing for OT after the game was tied….

I remember that game so clearly Joe. And venting on this here website about it.

I was so disgusted by what I saw that my dog ran out of the house scared.

  15. 813bucboi Says:

    note to smitty…

go back and watch the college film of VHG vs. odb….VHG looked him down!!!and he wasn’t playing a soft a$$ zone….he was up in his face the whole game….

GMC..baker..J.smith and spence should have a field day against that oline….
my only question is, will dirk stick to the run game and will the oline hold off JPP and vernan….we’ll see….should be a good one…GO BUCS!!!

  16. Pryda...sec 147 Says:

I’m thinking Eli is gonna pull a Glennon come Sunday.

  17. Pryda...sec 147 Says:

I will be screaming my lungs out on defense and my brother and all my stick carriers that sit in my section!!! All game long

    Stay classy OBJ!
