Pimping For Jameis

September 8th, 2017

Hardware coming?

Yes, Bucs fans are giddy for the season to start. Joe can sense it.

Most have been chomping at the bit since Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht selected tight end O.J. Howard in the draft.

Fans have playoff visions dancing in their heads. But can they be giddy enough to believe the Bucs will have the Offensive Most Valuable Player on the roster?

No, it won’t be Mike Evans or DeSean Jackson or Howard, said NFL Networks’ Peter Schrager.

Rather, Schrager said, Jameis should be your 2017 NFL Offensive Most Valuable Player.

You can watch Schrager make his pitch below.

Just here to say I wish we drafted Kareem Hunt. Dude killed it in his debut.

  2. SB Says:

LOL SC I drafted him in two of my FFs way early and had people laughing at me. I also took McCaffery in the second and am laughed at We shall see.

  3. unbelievable Says:

LOL I was thinking the same thing about Hunt.

    Speed kills.

SB- I saw ur comment about issues with the pickem league. Maybe just make another espn account and sign up for it?

  4. NFLNut Says:

Kareem Hunt isn’t the “fast” … but … the kid looked like a legit MVP candidate this year and KC has a history of RB’s putting up monster stats (e.g. Priest Holmes, Larry Johnson, Jamaal Charles)

  5. Bird Says:

Yup. We are all feeling the same way. Pewter report was killing it for Kareem hunt too!

  6. Blake_bucsfan Says:

eah I was pimping Kareem Hunt all offseason. Posted numerous videos.

Also had numerous people criticize him for only having one gear, and many said he would never have enough speed to break off big plays for touchdowns in the NFL.

Juat goes to show that when it comes to breaking down film, a lot of people on JBF simply don’t know what they’re looking at.

  7. BigMacAttack Says:

I wouldn’t trade the Howard pick for anyone in this draft. Hunt played well but Howard and Godwin will be good, maybe great, for years. RB’s rarely last very long.

  8. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Oh for sure BigMac, O.J. Howard has the talent to go down as one of the best TE’s of all time. He was easily my favorite player in the 2017 Draft class.

And I had Chris Godwin pegged for a sure fire 2nd round pick, that’s why I really can’t be mad at Licht for the Evans pick. Considering that we got who I would say was the 4th best reciever in the draft in the 3rd round.

We had a phenomenal despite what the haters think.

  9. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    Phenomenal *draft*

  10. Rod Munch Says:

I hate hype, I really do.

After you do something that’s when hype is awesome, but beforehand all it does is lead you into a situation where even if you achieve everything all people say is yeah, that was expected.

I would love for this to be the case but almost never does the hot trendy team and players ever live up to the hype – and they are really building up Jameis – which is what “they” do mostly so they can then tear you down when you don’t live up to the hype they built.

  11. Lunchbox Says:

I’ll admit I was one who honestly was unimpressed with what I originally saw from Hunt on his college tape. After tonight though, I guess that’s why I’m not getting paid to make those decisions lol.

  12. NFLNut Says:

Did ya’ll see Tom Brady? He looked like hot garbage! He badly missed just about every deep ball he threw except the one to Cooks, looked skiddish and just played like crap … I still think he has a very, very good year but I remember Peyton, Favre and EVER OTHER GREAT QB falling off a cliff at some point … it’d be crazy to see Bellichick bench Brady in favor of Garropolo at some point this year …

I’m hope the bucs watched this game n took notes of n learned something from both teams strength n weaknesses. As u can c, u never take ur foot off the gas n go “stand fast” on the patriots. U have to take it to them with aggressiveness the entire game. I love the Kareem hunt kid, contrary to Charles sims, this guy hits the hole quick, consistently, n make plays repeatedly. Our defense cannot allow Brady to have all day to throw…he’ll carve us up. As u can c once bradys pressured,he can b shut down. If the Bucs wanna become an elite team then they must think, coach,n play like an elite team.

  14. tnew Says:

Blake.. I was with you on the draft. OJ80 was an unrealistic dream pre draft, but he had to be taken. Godwin yes in the second and we both were on Hunt. I think he’s going to be solid due to his balance and vision. I do believe this was as much of an indictment on two things. The Patriots have always been a team to out scheme you defensively. Reid beat Belicheck last night. The other, Brady loos pretty ordinary once the running game was taken away and his two primary receivers are out.

Also, the Chiefs secondary played really stellar last night.

  15. NOSBOS Says:

I tried to tell you last week NFL,I said he’s 40. Why folks think thats insignificant is beyond me.

  16. NOSBOS Says:

I said I don’t revere the pats because of that fact. It didn’t just start last night. He was garbage against the texans and the falcons.

  17. NOSBOS Says:

I said all summer “brady can’t hold the ceptor forever”.

  18. NOSBOS Says:

Defense gave up over 500 yards. Stick a fork in them, the run is over.

  19. Cobraboy Says:

The game I saw showed the KC OL being dominant.

No RB is great by himself. He is largely a product of OL play.
