It’s Official: Case Keenum Will Start Against Bucs

September 22nd, 2017

Bucs killer Case Keenum will start for the Vikings on Sunday.

Wipe the drool from your chins, Bucs fans.

Case Keenum has carved up the Bucs while quarterbacking for the Rams in 2015 and 2016. And he will start for the Vikings on Sunday. Sam Bradford officially was ruled out for the game.

Keenum, 29, with 25 career starts, should be playing with plenty of confidence (even if it’s misguided) and he’s clearly capable.

    Joe

If this guy carves up the bucs again…….I’m going to vomit on your servers

  2. Rod Munch Says:

Looking at the stats and the garbage Keenum in his 2-0 strech versus the Bucs has put up 430 yards, 4 TDs with 1 INT – meanwhile in those same two games Winston put up 770 yards, 5 TDs with 2 INTs – and Winston somehow lost both games. Amazing.

  3. Atrain4047 Says:

Kwon Alexander is out for the game with his hamstring injury

  4. J dubb Says:

I read kwon was out, McCoy,Baker, and Grimes we’re questionable….has this been confirmed or is another site jumping the gun cuz I thought kwon said he was in.

  5. RayJameisStadium Says:

Kwon is out but we know what Beckwith can do.

    We are good to go!!!

  6. J dubb Says:

I hope McCoy and Baker are in then cuz thats the whole starting middle of our d against a good run team. I’m not sure how McDonald and siliga plus whatever rotation guys would hold up and I like beckwith but without cloggers in the middle I’m a lot more comfortable with kwon

  7. Rod Munch Says:

Was it Ira that wrote an article the other day talking about how amazingly healthy the team is? I love ya Ira, but please don’t jinx the team like that…

  8. Back up kicker Says:

I don’t even consider the Lovie years actual Bucs football. Time to ball

  9. Rod Munch Says:

Kwon has been the best player on this defense for the last 2 years, and that’s no knock on David or McCoy, it’s just that Kwon has been that good. Beckwith did fine last week in a game that was already out of hand versus a Bears team that didn’t even bother to run the ball – so hopefully Beckwith can keep up his play as the Vikings have a dramatically better defense and I can’t really see a situation where the Bucs have the game wrapped up well before half-time.

Going to this game got my CREamsicle Jaimes Jersey ready to go!

  11. Lord Cornelius Says:

Mike Smith gonna f*ck Keenum’s day up.

This might actually be more motivation for the team – knowing this jack4ss has beaten us twice now.

  12. D-Rome Says:

It’s a new year. Case Keenum has not faced a Bucs team like look like this.

  13. 813bucboi Says:

screw case….we had j.banks and jude as our starting cb’s….howard jones and kourtney brown were playing just as much as our starters….we’ve improved so much since then….

the injuries on the other hand have me a little concerned….kwon is a big blow to the gut…..he sets the tone and is the leader of the defense….no doubt beckwith can play but now we have to rely on bond or lynch as well….plus hamstrings can last all damn year…..still got us coming out with a “W”….GO BUCS!!!!

  14. Cobraboy Says:

Beckwith to the middle, Glanton to Sam.

Sure beats the depth from even a year ago.

  15. CanadianBucFan Says:

Real disappointed with not seeing Kwon but now LVD will be set to dominate like last Sunday.

  16. Cobraboy Says:

I’m all for Kwon sitting this game out, and giving the hammy some real time to rest and heal.

  17. LocalJoker Says:

The Bucs need a clearly capable back-up QB. Nice to have! Just sayin’.

  18. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

    Agreed, let Kwon rest.

But, Baker? Suck it up, Swaggy.

  19. Mo_Downs Says:

Should be a great game. This is not the Bears we’re playing this week.

The Viking defense boasts a slew of All-Pro starters. And, these guys take no prisoners.

Our offense will decide this game, not our defense. Let’s also be mindful of the professionalism of EVERY team in the NFL.

Even bad NFL teams train and practice and are populated with professional athletes.

I hope all the PR/BS from the preseason about the new and improved Bucs comes into fruition. The Bears were not a test of anything other than a well rested team beat-up on a bad team that had a few key pieces on IR or limping.

    Go Bucs..!!

  20. 813bucboi Says:

last week the defense put the team on its back and took off….time for the offense to step up and put 7 on the board every time we have the ball….GO BUCS!!!!

  21. JAB83 Says:

Rest a sure it will be a 4 quarter game. CG 12 will be the x factor late. BET!!!

Might even get a DJax/flash play late to seal the deal.

Barber will determine most of the action early!

Bucs CAN pull away late 31-17 good guys.

  22. stpetebucsfan Says:

Seems to me that Beckwith is already a stud when it comes to stuffing the run.
He appears to need his most improvement in playing pass defense in the NFL.

That is a good mix for us this week…perhaps bad against Drew Brees but against Case Keenum and Dalvin Cook…I’d rather have our stud stuff Dalvin and take our chances with Keenum.

  23. Bucfanbf Says:

I don’t believe that Case Keenum will torch us this time.
I like our chances as long as the Bucs bring there A game and play with that same intensity and edge as they did against Da Bears.

  24. Rod Munch Says:

Beckwith has played just over a half of a single NFL game – I’d hold off on the league defensive MVP talk. Kwon is, and has been since day 1, the best starter on the defense – thinking Beckwith, who is a much different player (bigger, stronger but slower) can step in and the defense won’t miss a beat is pretty ridiculous. Even if Beckwith does step right in, it means he’s moving over from OLB to MLB meaning someone else has to step up and take his place – so you’re still losing a ton of depth there, in particular if Bond isn’t ready to play.

Now with that said Beckwith looked great last week – and has came a long ways since missing multiple tackles against the 3rd string Bengals players in the preseason, but he’s still a rookie and people need to keep expectations in check a bit. Hopefully he’s another Kwon – because if that’s the case the Bucs have the best LB trio in football and they’re all fairly young.
