NFL Leaning Toward No Bye?

September 5th, 2017

Scheduling nightmare.

As a Category-5 storm appears to be gunning towards the Sunshine State, the Bucs might be stuck with no bye.

Per the Twitter of Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, while the NFL has made no decision (yet) on what to do with the currently scheduled season opener Sunday between the Bucs and Dolphins in South Florida, the Bucs fear the worst — from a football perspective.

Per Stroud, the Bucs have a hunch the game will be postponed until Nov. 19, both teams’ bye week. This means the Bucs and Dolphins will both play 16 straight weeks of football and their bye would be eliminated.

Yesterday during a press conference at One Buc Palace, winning Bucs coach Dirk Koetter was asked for his reaction to this option and he snapped, “What do you think?”

From a football perspective, (yes, football takes a back seat to the safety of citizens), this is the worst-case scenario for the Bucs who have dreams of a playoff run.

  1. SB Says:

This is ABSOLUTELY THE WORST THING THAT COULD HAPPEN.
    Byes are MUCH NEEDED!!!!!!!!

  2. Denver Buc fan Says:

The NFL cant do this to us and the Dolphins. we need our bye week just like the rest of the teams.

  3. JJBucFan Says:

Just make a double header on Thursday, stupid to give no bye week to these 2 teams. No doubt NFL will do this though because it is not the NY or LA or Jerry Jones/Robert Kraft market.

  4. Tampabaybucfan Says:

A disadvantage for us becomes an advantage for our opponents….especially division opponents who we play late in the season…..this would be terribly unfair and unnecessary….there are many precedents of NFL games being relocated….

  5. D-Rome Says:

Leave it to a bunch of executives to tell the players they don’t need a bye week. Just play the game Thursday or Friday. Sure, it won’t be as much of a money making opportunity for the NFL and there is a cost involved but losing a bye week is worse for both teams.

  6. Casual Observer Says:

    Jacksonville. Friday.

  7. Jerry Says:

    No playoffs this year.

  8. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Rick Stroud is so full of crap. he literally makes things up for the reactions and to get on live TV.

  9. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Dolphins have a game in London. They need the bye for promotions and travel, so no. Not gonna happen. I guess Rick Stroud didn’t think things through before he made up news.

  10. Joe Says:

Rick Stroud is so full of crap.

Joe and Stroud are anything but bosom buddies but in this case, this comment is complete and total nonsense.

  11. KingCrabLeggs Says:

With cold tubs, mental toughness, an us against the world attitude, and a little luck we can overcome this BS.

  12. BurgDweller Says:

Stroud has been wrong so many times he is like the boy who cried wolf. Take his reporting with a grain of salt.

  13. Joe Says:

Stroud has been wrong so many times he is like the boy who cried wolf. Take his reporting with a grain of salt.

Again, Joe and Stroud are anything but chummy. But Joe will defend him when Joe sees fit. You may not want to believe this, but Stroud does speak on occasion with Bucs suits and coaches.

  14. I'm tired and 87 is right Says:

I could think of many options but playing on the bye week would be totally unfair and make no sense. Just put the game for Thursday night like the other teams playing. Problem solved. Go Bucs!!

  15. WyomingBucsFan Says:

The question is, where will the bucs practice this year if the team’s headquarters is under 20ft of water? That is the outcome if Tampa takes a direct hit from Irma.

  16. stpetebucsfan Says:

I guess this negates all my posts about how favorably our schedule sets up.

What a horrid break that Miami has their bye the same week as us. That really set us up well for a playoff run. First game after the bye is the Falcons in Atlanta…wouldn’t it be nice to have two weeks to heal and prepare for that game.

Then comes three more games against Division rivals…including another game against Atlanta at home…with 3 of our last 4 at home.

I’m not a big worrier about strength of schedule…but byes can have a critical impact. Getting a bye late in the 11th week was a huge bonus…time to heal the injuries which will pile up after ten weeks of head banging…and time to prepare for that road game against the Dixie Chicks.

  17. Mike Johnson Says:

Thurs or Friday will do just fine. The Bye week is important for all teams. Just get her done NFL exec’s. Set the date today and be done with it.

  18. shouldhavedraftedeifert Says:

@Casual Observer Jacksonville. Friday. <— THIS!

  19. D-Rome Says:

Stroud has been wrong so many times he is like the boy who cried wolf. Take his reporting with a grain of salt.

Ridiculous. If he’s wrong nearly as often as you are suggesting then you should be able to easily list five things he’s been 100% wrong about. There isn’t a sports reporter in the world that reports with 100% accuracy.

  20. Joe Says:

The question is, where will the bucs practice this year if the team’s headquarters is under 20ft of water?

Without checking a flood zone map, not sure One Buc Palace is in a flood zone. This isn’t Houston (an area prone to flooding without a hurricane) or Hurricane Harvey, which was stuck between two fronts which forced it to stall over southeast Texas dumping the flood-prone area with historic rainfalls.

  21. Joe Says:

    @Casual Observer Jacksonville. Friday

Given the forecast for the storm, really doubt the game, if moved out of Miami, will be played anywhere in the state of Florida.

  22. Blake_bucsfan Says:

If the NFL tries to take away our bye week, both teams should protest. Because no team should have to play 16 straight weeks of football.

Shoot, imagine if we end up being a wild card team? Then it would be 17 weeks. Please for the love of god just move the damn thing to thursday, it’s the best solution for everyone.

  23. SeffnerBuc Says:

Like many of you, there’s something about this that makes me absolutely livid, should the NFL just move the game to their bye weeks. Not to sound like 5 year old, but it would be incredibly unfair. However, I also doubt that this will happen for several reasons, including the Dolphins having to travel to London. So, I’m not going to get too upset for nothing at the moment. I guess I just see so many other better options, besides just making them miss their bye weeks.

  24. Gencoimports Says:

If this is the case, what does this do to Doug Martin’s suspension? Does this mean he would miss the Giants game?

  25. Dewey Selmon Says:

Players used to go through 2 days and then played a 16 game schedule with NO bye weeks. This isn’t the end of the world. Plus TJ Ward gets another week of practice before they play.

  26. Joe Says:

If this is the case, what does this do to Doug Martin’s suspension? Does this mean he would miss the Giants game?

Doug Martin is suspended for the first three games of the season. Not weeks, games.

  27. Architek Says:

There should be safety policies in place to mandate a bye week for the safety and rest of players and staffs.

I don’t see how this is rationale from a NFL scheduling viewpoint.

I have no beef with Stroud – he’s just reporting the facts. I personally love Greg Auman and Ira tho.

  28. simeon 97 Says:

We finally get a GOOD bye week for a change (week 11), instead of what feels like having an early week bye every year. I also believe the bye week determination is formulaic but it also feels like the good teams always have later byes and the bad teams early byes. So we finally get a good one (as we are expected not to suck this year) and its likely stripped from us. BS.

  29. Buddy Says:

Typical reaction from Dirk when a guy is just doing his job asking a question. When things are going his way he’s full of laughs but let a little adversity happen & you see who the real guy is. He treats his staff the same way. Just wait til a losing steak & watch him whine in every press conference at the questions being asked.

  30. Dylan Says:

Hahaha @ the Rick Stroud comments…. all reporters are right and wrong but I mean common sense would suggest he is right. Then again that could be how he made his comments up. For the simple reason both teams are potentially wildcard contenders and Miami is playing in London I would be surprised if they flexed the game to week 11 giving neither team a bye but then again who knows these are 2 teams that anyone outside of Florida could give two sh*ts about. lets hope the storm swerves left!

  31. Dave Says:

I dont know if the NFLPA is going to like them eliminating a bye week. That idea may be vetoed by the union on health and wellness grounds, especially since Miami is flying back from London.

  32. Dylan Says:

Cancel the rams and colts game.. no one cares about that… no luck no Donald.. turd throwing contest over there lets play there!

p.s I know its not possible

  33. passthebuc Says:

Because of concerns with Hurricane Irma, the NFL is reportedly considering changing the date or location of the Week 1 game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Miami Dolphins.

According to Steven Wine of the Associated Press, the game that is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. ET in Miami could be moved up to Thursday or Friday instead.

Hurricane Irma is set to hit several Caribbean Islands this week, and CNN meteorologist Allison Chinchar expects it to make landfall in the United States next Monday. The current track is moving toward Florida, though it could also affect much of the East Coast.

  34. stpetebucsfan Says:

Well I’ve already been preaching about the incredible benefit of that bye in week 11. But I am the blog optimist so I’ll try and make some lemonade out of a lemon.

IF we play Miami in week 11 at least there is no travel as in a West Coast game to make it even worse.

And what happens to our schedule. We start with 3 of our first four games at home and finish with 3 of our last 4 games at home. If the Bucs are truly going to eliminate Joe’s Den of Depression this will be the season to do it!!!

Instead of opening with a decent team on the road…we open against a rebuilding Chicago team at home. We’ll have an extra week of preparation and health. If we can’t open with a win against the Bears at home….yeooowww!

And we still have a good finish to our schedule. 3 of our last 4 at home…our last three against Division rivals…with two of those at home.

Man I want that bye…but IF we don’t get it…all is not lost.

  35. Blake_bucsfan Says:

I just don’t understand how this could possibly be being considered as the best decision available.

  36. unbelievable Says:

This would be ablsolutely retarded, and punishes both teams for no reason. Sounds like a normal league decision to me!

  37. D-Rome Says:

Players used to go through 2 days and then played a 16 game schedule with NO bye weeks.

Players also used to play concussed with a lot more frequency than they do today and coaches used to laugh and say, “He got his bell rung, haha.” Players also used to smoke and during halftime too.

    It’s the 21st Century!

  38. Gencoimports Says:

I except a final decision to be made by the league no later than tomorrow. I will still be surprised if they don’t play the game Thursday or Friday.

  39. Marlow Says:

And the NFL cares about players health…. Not.

  40. Dewey Selmon Says:

And now players hide their concussions and they still smoke, just different substances, The more things change the more they stay the same. You might be right, this generation is not good at handling adversity.

  41. DBS Says:

CNN. Another guess. The National Hurricane Center only predicts 5 day out. Everything can change depending on the land it hits now if any or track one way or another. When the high to the east breaks down and second cold front to the north arrives. Nobody knows the exact timing because it is to early.

  42. RayJameisStadium Says:

If they choose to move it to the Bye, they should play Thursday night.

Then we have 10 days to prepare for Atlanta.

Hopefully this weeks preparation would take away from having to play Miami 4 days after the jets game at home.

  43. LifeOfABucFan Says:

I can’t add anything else to this..TBBF pretty much summed it up..

We have to close the season with so many divisional games with no freaking break..

How can we make a push towards the playoffs with all banged up players?? SMDFH!!

Move the game up to Thursday or Friday!!

  44. RayJameisStadium Says:

^Hoping this weeks preparation would help on preparing to play Miami with a 43-4 day preparation on a Thursday night game.

  45. RayJameisStadium Says:

    ^3-4

  46. Lord Cornelius Says:

There’s enough money in this game that they should be able to find some stadium not in risk of a hurricane hitting and move it asap.

I’d rather them play in a high school field then have our bye taken away.

THe bye week is f&cking huge in terms of what it does for teams. Just look up most teams records coming out of bye weeks. Look at all the times teams have turned things around using the bye week. I’ll be f&cking livid if the NFL f&cks us like that.

  47. Easy Denman Says:

Bullcrap if the game is moved to the bye week

  48. C-rock Says:

Play the game in Orlando on Thursday or Friday. I remember a preseason game the Dolphins played there.

  49. RayJameisStadium Says:

Not even Irma will keep us from demolishing Mr. Deflated and BillyCheat in the Super Bowl in February!!!!!!!!

    Reminder to Buccaneer fans:

THESE ARE NOT YOUR OLD BUCS!!!!!

This is FOOTBALL! There is no crying in FOOTBALL!

We are ready and we will deliver!

    Go Bucs!!!!!

  50. 99 Says:

Hearing rumblings of a possible game in the Superdome? Nothing official of course right now.

  51. JabooBuc Says:

Would the NFLPA rule on this? I can see them saying this is a bad idea for player safety.

  52. Lord Cornelius Says:

Man between this and the FSU opener I am not feeling loved by the football gods at all

  53. AlteredEgo Says:

For any fans of either team in there own viewing area….playing a football game should be the last thing on their minds….the whole peninsula of Florida is going to take a beating

  54. Joe Says:

Hearing rumblings of a possible game in the Superdome?

Where can Joe hear these “rumblings?”

  55. Stud Says:

The whole state of Florida is a flood zone, if you live in Florida and own a home you need Flood Insurance. Bottom line.

  56. Buddy Says:

You super fans got what you wanted— to be on Hard Knocks. Nothing good ever comes of it. Here’s a prime example. Lol. At all you whiners

  57. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    @Buddy

What in god’s name could you possibly be talking about?

There is 0 correlation between hard knocks and the impending weather situation.

  58. Jeagan1999 Says:

Either move the game out of state, or reschedule for the bye week….those are pretty much the only options left. Playing an NFL game within 48 hours of a Cat 5 storm coming ashore is needlessly reckless and irresponsible.

  59. Kobe Faker Says:

    KOBE Likes it

Hey Sheep…You need the most total wins possible in the regular season to make the playoffs…

What makes you sheep think this Miami game this week is a automatic win? Give Kobe a tired beatup Miami coming from London while we wait 4 hours from their stadium

Give Smitty another week to work with TJ Ward and tightened the back secondary. There is too much quiet concerning the health of some of our key players (Kwon& GMC might not be 100%) Let them Heal another week

Chicago long neck beatdown from a agitated Home team is going to be a MASSACRE!

  60. Kobe Faker Says:

    *sorry…forgot to add

4 hour drive to the next town is the best possible scenario vs flying to the west coast

    just sayin

    Kobe Tony Robbins Faker

  61. Lord Cornelius Says:

Why can’t they just move this up to Thursday?

They can’t because the NFL cares more about their f&cking ratings for the opening game than they do player safety.

The NFLPA should sh1t all over them if they take our bye week.

  62. Cometowin2 Says:

Play it Thursday or Friday. Make it happen. Eliminating the bye week should not be an option. Go Bucs!!!

  63. Kobe Faker Says:

    LC

Koetter had monday and tuesday as off days…we dont have enough time to gameplan for thursday or friday (maybe friday?)

“LC is Bipolar from posting at both Bucnation and JBF”

    Kobe Faker

  64. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Kobe, They’ve had the entire offseason to prepare for week 1.

Only a clueless individual like yourself would possibly view not having a bye week as a good thing.

  65. Lord Cornelius Says:

    Kobe

It’s Tuesday and they’ve known about this situation for days. Not much different than playing a Thursday night game following a Sunday game. And not like Miama wouldn’t also be dealing with the same circumstances.

    Friday would probably be ideal.

If the NFL really f*cks us with no bye week it’s a pretty damn big deal. There are so many statistics / story lines around bye weeks being huge for teams. There are coaches who are still undefeated out of them; or have insane records like 27-1 or something.

Not to mention we have all our division games and most of those a4sholes will be getting bye weeks to get fresh for us

  66. Joe Says:

Seems game being played in Florida if not postponed is unlikely after reading this.

  67. greg Says:

I think that this actually makes the most sense for anyone that cares about the fans. I know that very few do…the bye is important, but not nearly as important as the welfare of the players and fans when dealing with this storm.

if they move the game to a different time this week or weekend….the 10,000 plus people from Tampa that are planning to go….really won’t be able to and we are stuck with out tickets as they will be near worthless on the secondary market.

We have a storm to plan for as do the folks down in South Florida. That is more important than a bunch of world class athletes and Chris Baker getting a week off.

  68. Buc4lyfe79 Says:

“Just wait til a losing steak & watch him whine in every press conference at the questions being asked.”
@Buddy, Sup troll, where the he’ll were u last season when the Bucs were 1&3, under ur bridge? There wasnt any whining coming from Koetter, because real men don’t whine or make excuses, unlike trolls.

  69. Pistol Pete Says:

I would be all in on them moving the game to Atlanta….just saying…I live here…and the new stadium is freaking amazing.

  70. Kobe Faker Says:

    KOBE used to book…

    show some respect

We would have more advantage and higher percentage to win vs Miami at the bye week when they are coming from London than this weekend

  71. Lord Cornelius Says:

“We would have more advantage and higher percentage to win vs Miami at the bye week when they are coming from London than this weekend”

Who scares you more – Miami or Atlanta?

I’d rather have our week 11 bye before facing Atlanta; than feel the need for more of an advantage against a team like Miami.

I’d rather have a bye week before we play 6 games against the Falcons / Saints / Panthers / Packers / Lions; than no bye week at all just to gain a Kobe Faker designated edge on a team like the Dolphins.

  72. Gencoimports Says:

Looks like if they are going to play it this week in the state of Florida it has to be by Thursday.

  73. Kobe Faker Says:

1-0 win vs Miami is better than 0-1 loss vs Miami

*We have alot of moving parts/shiny toys thiis year

Kobe would prefer and think the timing will be much better at home to see couple of deep bombs to Djax

  74. unbelievable Says:

If this storm doesn’t start changimg direction by tomorrow, the situation is bad regardless of when / where the game gets played. Basically 3 scenarios:

    1. The game is moved up to Thurs / Friday. Tickets will not be refunded, most people won’t be able to make it and / or shouldn’t even try because a storm will be hitting and they need to prep for that.

    2. Game moved to another location out of state. At least tickets would be refunded. We were already traveling, so that wouldn’t be a big deal. Would have to wonder where player’s heads are out if they’re homes are being hit with a storm though.

    3. Game is moved to our bye week. This completely f**ks our team over, as bye weeks are crucial, and a week 11 bye is ideal timing for a team trying to make it to the post season.

In any scenario, it means the hurricane is most likely hitting Florida, which sucks for everyone.

    Mother Nature is still undefeated.

  75. unbelievable Says:

^ *player’s heads are at, if their homes are being hit

  76. Kobe Faker Says:

    *Sorry again

the painful losses to raiders and rams last year was equally painful as any divisional game

Dude you are a troll. Stroud talks daily to management and coaches at OneBuc. You are the one making sh1t up. You always post ignorant stuff with so much confidence.

  80. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    @Kobe

No one is buying it. Give it up ya bum. Not having a bye week when every other team in the league (minus the fins) has one is 1000 percent a major disadvantage.

    https://www.thephinsider.com/2017/9/5/16255496/hurricane-irma-category-5-miami-dolphins-tampa-bay-buccaneers-nfl-move-date-location

according to this site, whose credibility i can’t vouch for, both teams have requested not to reschedule to the bye week. and a decision should come today. i hope that is true.

  82. Lord Cornelius Says:

Bottom line for me is the Dolphins don’t scare me. I’m ready to play them tonight if we could.

They were a fluke team last year. They beat a single winning team all season and it was the Steelers when the Steelers thought the Dolphins sucked (because up to that point they did). When they re-matched in the post season it wasn’t a contest.

Dolphins won all the rest of their games against teams picking top 10 basically; and went to OT or down to the wire with the Browns / Bills / Jets. A lot of those games could have gone either way. They weren’t blowing the terrible teams out like we did with the 49ers / Bears once we got our sh1t going ( more like what we looked like against the Rams; except they happened to pull out those wins each time )

All that said their win streak was impressive. It’s not easy to consistently beat the bad teams (and it wasn’t easy for the Dolphins if you look at the scores). There’s something to their ability to finish all of those games.

So I may eat crow; but as of right now I’d assume the Bucs should be a 3 point favorite in this game at least.

Just checked and I’m seeing we’re a 2.5 pt favorite. That’s a pretty close line but then again some of these lines look weird. Bills a huge favorite over the Jets (like 10 pt spread) but Taylor may not play and the Bills are themselves kind of tanking it seems. Betting week 1 is scary in general because good game plans can offset general talent at times. And sh1t just happens in the NFL

  83. Phil Says:

The game should be moved to Friday. What a bunch of idiots at NFL headquarters.

The smart ones are already preparing. Anyone waiting until last minute like that is a fool. Heck, this is Florida. We should be prepared every hurricane season!

  87. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I guess I have been lucky the last 20 years. No place I lived has been flooded by these storms. I hear of other areas in my town getting flooded, but never where I live.

  88. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    unbelievable Says:
    “…Basically 3 scenarios…”

Technically they could move it to Monday. The storm would probably be passed.

I predict the storm will hug Cuba until around Havana and then start a slow turn north, drift in the gulf to regain strength, and then head toward the pan handle.

  89. SCBucsFan Says:

BB but if – if – the storm hits Miami area putting it off to Monday would make for a public relations nightmare, NFL football in a town cleaning up from a hurricane the day before.

  90. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

LMAO! Bonzai is all knowing. He knows more than Stroud about the Bucs and he is also a meteorologist! Jesus man give it a rest about things you know nothing about.

  91. Rod Munch Says:

Ladies, there’s still a dramatically higher chance nothing happens in Miami than there is the chance something does. I’d say we’re up to like a 90% chance the storm will have no impact – but again it’s too early to know. The GFS, which is one of the better hurricane models, has shifted the hurricane as plowing into the panhandle and having no effect on Miami or Tampa, but again, it’s too early to know. Also most models have shifted the storm southward, meaning it could be on land in Cuba going the length of the island, in which case it would weaken dramatically, but again, it’s too early to know.

The NFL for once is doing the right thing by not (so far) being panicky Pete’s, most likely the storm will not impact south Florida and the game will go on as normal.

  92. LifeOfABucFan Says:

  94. Greg Says:

Apparently bonzai thinks it is prudent to have 50,000 people at a football game while many people are evacuating….he also must not have spent hundreds of dollars on tickets like some of have.

  95. Richard Says:

The problem with moving the game to Friday is that a lot of the security assets that would work an NFL game — police, fire, paramedic — are usually working high school football games too.

  96. Rod Munch Says:

LifeOfABucFan – You probably have more cojones than most millennial men, I think we can all agree on that.

  97. bucster Says:

No way this game gets played. If there is death and destruction like Harvey, even if it happens a day or two after the game, it will be a PR nightmare for the NFL. The NFL can in no uncertain terms show that playing football is remotely important as a monster hurricane approaches.

  98. Richard Says:

Another thing: it’s not just getting to and playing the game, it’s getting the teams back home afterward. What’s the good of rushing them off somewhere to play the game if they can’t get back home afterward due to weather? Then we’re looking at issues for Week 2.

  99. Rod Munch Says:

Bonzai – What is this I hear about you writing elven porn?

Also the 2pm run of the GFS has it directly over Miami again hitting it from the south and moving up the state. Meanwhile the Eurotrash model, which had a good run of predicting storms a few years ago, has the hurricane going down Cuba and bypassing south Florida all together before turning north, maybe in Tampa.

With that said I’ll repeat it’s too early to know yet what will happen. It won’t be until Thursday or maybe even early Friday before we even know if it will hit Florida at all. For it to take that northern swing to hit Miami that very much leaves open the door it does so like 70 miles to the east and there is no weather from the storm other than some outer rain bands. Just hold onto your panties ladies and keep it together.

This is why the NFL is doing the right thing – they can and should wait until Saturday to decide if the game will happen or not – and chances are still much greater that the storm will have zero impact on south Florida than the chances are it will have impact. We just won’t know for another couple of days.

Well said! But if you post here long enough you’ll realize Rod is not exactly the most enlightened dude. Good on football…the rest of life…not so much.

    Greg

Agree with you 100%. The players have families as well…the entire organization…the fans who planned to travel. What’s important right now is getting through this week safely…far more than a W-L record. If our team is as good as we believe…I think RaymondJameis is correct…we’ll still be winners.

  101. Greg Says:

Rod…we get it…you know all there is to know about the weather.

  102. Eric Says:

    This is a guaranteed non-loss.

Won’t be any more than a half game out of first place Sunday night.

    Ill take it.

  103. Rod Munch Says:

Thank you Greg – it’s about time my greatness was acknowledged here.

    God bless!

  104. Rod Munch Says:

stpetebucsfan – I know more about weather than anyone in this area, heck on earth, and will put my track record of accurate storm predictions up against these local hack weatherman anytime. It’s God, then me, when it comes to knowledge of the weather.

Would Doug martins suspension toll if there ends up being a week 1 bye?

  106. Rob Says:

This would be incredibly disappointing. Late-season bye weeks are a valuable thing, and to not only have that taken away, but to get no bye week at all is total BS.

  107. Dave Says:

They should play it Friday night. That does not affect hardly anything. Getting rid of the bye week would be completely asinine

  108. godzilla13 Says:

C’mon NFL losing your bye-week is an unfair disadvantage for both the Buccaneers and Dolphins. The NFL could assign an alternative stadium or the Thursday night proposal works fine.
