Jameis Gives Back

September 17th, 2017

Springs into action.

It didn’t take long for America’s Quarterback to pitch in.

Jameis Winston stood at a podium Thursday morning at One Buc Palace, just having returned to town two days earlier like thousands of Floridians who escaped the state to avoid Hurricane Irma. Jameis declared he was about to announce an effort to help Floridians adversely impacted by the storm to get back on their feet.

A few hours later, Jameis announced he would match the first $50,000 of donations through his foundation.

The very next day, Friday, Jameis was in St. Petersburg handing out hot meals to the locals without power. And WTVT-TV Channel 13 was there recording Jameis’ trying to lift the spirits of those in a tough situation.

Jameis isn’t the only Bucs player helping the community. Clinton McDonald’s foundation has brought food trucks to various locations in the Tampa Bay community to offer hot meals to citizens. Gerald McCoy has vowed to start a fundraider. And Bucs running back Peyton Barber has set up a fundraiser as well.

And of course, Team Glazer graciously donated $1 million to the Red Cross to help Hurricane Irma victims and is giving away tickets to today’s game to area first responders during the storm.

Joe just thinks this is way cool how many players have pitched in to help out the less fortunate in the area. Joe has stated a new bond seems to be developing between the team and its fans that Joe hasn’t seen in years. The players helping out storm victims is proof of that.

Below is a WTVT-TV Channel 13 video of Jameis’ day Friday helping out those who need help.

I’ve been around players that do this kind of stuff “for the cameras” JW is not among them. This young man has a good heart.

We all know about #3 and that’s good but I’m beginning to believe McDonald is an unsung hero on this team. When he’s healthy he’s a stud player…he’s a great teammate and he’s good in the community.

McDonald seems like one of the truly good guys on the Bucs. He must suck at DL then eh….since he’s not a total asssswhipe TMAX can tell you that he can’t be a good football player. Gotta be a total jerk like Incognito or Hardy to accomplish being a solid football player.

Perhaps Tom Jones will mention all this in a future article….

  6. NOSBOS Says:

And some can’t understand why I defend him so vehemently 87. That’s good people’s right there.

  7. Rick Says:

@Stpete, your intuition leads you well, Clinton is genuine and always gracious with fans at events.

  8. BuccaneEric75 Says:

87!! Lol! Tom Jones is trying to find the “real” story. You know, the one where he can write about the Bucs setting this up as a PR stunt. It’s out there, and he’ll find it, he knows it. If not, he’ll just write an “opinion” piece. Lol!! Go Winston!!

Peyton Barber has also started a fund drive for affected areas…
