Teamwork Big For Jackson

August 7th, 2017

Talks responsibility.

What a neat thought from Bucs wide receiver DeSean Jackson.

As anyone can tell you by watching Jackson in practice, this cat hasn’t slowed down. But now entering his 10th NFL season, he knows he’s closer to the end of his football days than the beginning. So Jackson has decided he needs to share his wisdom with his younger teammates so they can be their best selves, so he said Saturday after training camp practice.

“Just try to look at it like you’re a young guy, go out there have fun,” Jackson said of his mentality for this season. “You don’t really get too many guys to make it [this long], so it’s just a blessing to be out here working hard, teaching these young guys and just trying to stay healthy, but at the same time work hard. Just make plays, keep doing what you do.”

Joe thought that was pretty cool that Jackson included helping young receivers in his list of personal responsibilities.

To Joe, that is a true sign of a guy who wants to be part of the Bucs, not just a guy here to cash a check.

How many years has it been that top-shelf free agent players actually wanted to play in Tampa Bay?

Uh I’m going to say if you count this year that makes three!

I know that coincidence is not always equal to causation but I believe in this case coincidence and cause are one and the same. The arrival of #3!!!!!

He wants a ring and knows they have a shot at it.

Joe nothing to do with this article….but could you update this thing on Josh Norman calling our firing cannons a hypocrisy because he can not use the bow and arrow?

Djax is an intelligent dude. It often gets overlooked in his swagger but he is in the stage of his career where it is time to sh!t or get off the pot to get a ring. He came here for a ring.

First ever heard of that. Eh, Norman likes to hear himself talk. Apples/oranges.

“Djax will get another contract or extension when the 2 years is over”

*we just need Monken to stfu…just sayin

N why do we need monken to stfu? He has done a great job so far. We arent behind the scenes every day, lets remember that. Dirk sees the big picture. If he needs monken or djax or anyone to stfu, he will tell them to.
N the norman thing wasnt calling out the bucs. He used it as an example, along with new england. Take these things with a grain of salt…they get microphones shoved in their faces daily. Of course there will be things said everyone doesnt agree with. Go bucs

The last time the Bucs were legit, we lured the best FA DE on the market to town by “dangling” a $1M offer in the 1st year with no signing bonus and no guarantees.

And Simeon Rice who had already established himself as a 10+ sack per year guy in Arizona and whose obvious skills were worth about $5-$6M per year on the open market at the time snatched up that beyond lowball offer gladly. He simply wanted to prove he could be a difference maker on an already stellar defense and wanted his best chance at greatness and a ring.

We all know how well that worked out – Sapp and Rice working side by side was a perfect match and created nightmares for opposing Olines.

Maybe the new Winston led Bucs can be as fortunate in the near future regarding top FAs being willing to come here on the cheap for a chance at greatness and a ring. The Belicheats have been in that position for years – but Brady is just about done. Its OUR TURN dammit! The new dynasty begins this year! Go Bucs. Show those free agents why they want to come here at a discount next year.

I haven’t heard the Norman comment much less the context.

But I wonder if this is connected to the continuing controversy about the “Redskins”.

I understand the Indians(although their goofy mascot is pretty insulting…the Seminoles(I think FSU is honoring that tribe…but Redskins…really?

Imagine the Atlanta Negroes? How about the Atlanta Nbombs…=Redskins

Or the San Francisco Asians…substitute slopes…chinks…= Redskins!!!

Sorry for some offensive stereotypes but if you’re honest they were no worse than calling a Native American a Redskin!!
