Evans Looks Just Fine

August 11th, 2017

Sharp.

One thing jumped out at Joe just about right away tonight.

It took only a handful of plays when the Bucs had their first possession of the preseason to tell Joe that Mike Evans is in midseason form.

Yeah, there were a couple of miscues in the end zone, but damn, on that drive Evans was just about as money as you will ever see a receiver. He was clowning Bengals defensive backs.

If the Bucs have common sense — and they do — Evans should never see the second quarter the rest of the preseason. There simply is no need to risk Evans to injury in joke games. He’s regular season-ready (as opposed to “Tennessee-ready”).

I was happy to see the anti lovie aproach. And actually play your starters a little bit. I use to hate watching freeman go 1-7 and then pull him. But I agree joe mike Evans has nothing more to prove this preseason he looked like he was in mid season form. And please don’t throw Jackson another slant I thought he might be concussed after that hit from the linebacker. One other nugget I saw does Boise state teach there running backs to run on there tip toes. Doug and mcnichols run the exact same way.

    Lovie never coached Freeman.

You can hang a lot of things on Lovie, but Freeman isn’t one of them.

Hey that’s the nicest thing Joe has ever said about Lovie – you can’t say Joe isn’t fair!

Yeah I lose my cred on that one joe. All these coaches we have had just run together in my mind.

Awful to mediocrity will do that to a man.

The defense has to be honest in coverage with the other weapons on the field.

Jameis had chemistry with both Evans and Brate tonight.

If the opposing defense rolls coverage to Evans then we will see DJack, Godwin, Hump, Brate, Howard….have big games

    opposing defenses are FOOOKED!

  8. Brett Says:

Jameis forced the ball to Evans too much.

Joe have you ever seen a dog react when you try to take his bone away?

I look like that every time you write those words!!!! lol

    @JeffBuc

Easy mistake to make because I agree with you they do all run together after Gruden left.

I have frequently have trouble remembering who coached who. I no longer remember the Gaines Adams story…or that of many DE’s we have drafted…as you say they start blending into one nightmare that we all would just rather forget.

As for Free I was totally depressed when we drafted him…huge dude who could run over guys and throw the ball through a brick wall…IF he could hit the wall.
