No Comfort In The NFL

July 6th, 2017

No let up.

As we know by now, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, is a workaholic.

His teammates say they can’t beat him to One Buc Palace to work out. And when One Buc Palace is closed to the players, Jameis takes his drive to gyms, often to work out with his trainer, often while much of America is still asleep.

Last weekend, when Jameis hosted a youth football camp in his Alabama stomping grounds in the Birmingham area, he was asked whether he was comfortable now entering his third season in the NFL.

That’s not exactly the way to phrase it properly, Jameis said.

“I’m comfortable with our playbook,” Jameis said. “But in terms of this game, I would never be comfortable. You have to be able to excel when you are uncomfortable. That’s why I am always trying to get better. You should never want to relax. Give it all you got, go to sleep, get back up and give it all you got.”

Look, who knows if Jameis will ever lead the Bucs to a Super Bowl much less win one. But this much seems obvious: Jameis is doing his best to will this team and his teammates to glory, someday.

It just gets Joe fired up to see Jameis’ drive and passion to be great.

I see Jameis giving his all to be the best…but until this team gets enough play-makers on Off. & Def. it will not make the Play-Offs!!!

  3. Defense Rules Says:

Joe, you keep building ‘The Legend that is Jameis Winston’ with various articles like this, and Jameis keeps saying in effect ‘Whoa, I’ve got a long way to go.’ It seems Jameis understands better than anyone that it’s performance that counts, and that performance is measured in wins & losses. Rarely does Jameis use the ‘I’ word in his interviews from what I’ve seen; it’s always about T-E-A-M. What Jameis said in this interview about giving all you’ve got in every waking moment is a key to great leadership IMO, and I’m sure that all the Bucs players recognize that Jameis holds himself accountable to that high standard every day.

Love the extra effort but JW must become more accurate. Really the most important thing for JW to take the next step.

  5. JWBUCS Says:

Hey BigHog…. You are looking at the season with enough playmakers…. Fully confident about the Bucs Offensive components and I believe we have the defensive players on this roster if they All Buy in and deliver the coordinated effort as a team like that six week period last year…. Then we are far better than the pundits have us rated!

  6. mark2011 Says:

Jameis is going to prepare himself to put it all out on the field. He is giving it his all….can’t ask for more that that. And if that isn’t inspiring on some level for anyone on this team, they need to be elsewhere.

Hey bighog…Thanks for the morning laugh

  8. BadHombre Says:

This guy is a special kind of player. I’m so stoked to watch his career play out.

  9. Mike Johnson Says:

Jameis could be better this upcoming season. He started the season with to many errors last go. We shall see. But I can tell all of you, If our Defense comes out the gate slow like they did last year? Its gonna get ugly…quick!

JW will definitely play in a super bowl. As he said the other day, every other QB in this division has played in the big game – and I think it’s bc the path thru the rest of the NFC is so easy (comparatively) once u get out of the NFC South.

I laugh at how all the Monday morning QB’s keep saying over and over how Jameis needs to become more accurate. What gets me it is said in the same context of Jameis constantly putting in the work and stating he is striving to get better every single DAY.

It’s just rhetorical to keep stating what the 3rd year QB is obviously honining in on.

And most importantly without being privy to the playbook you really don’t know if it is ALL Jameis or if some of the fault is the route ran by the receiver. SINCE Jameis nor Dirk will put the receivers on blast.

But what they will do is find some higher Octane…duuuuh🤗

We’re about to win seven championships in a row so Jameis and Co. can truly call themselves the greatest.

Compare JW3’s statements with Cam Newton’s … I feel sorry for Panther fans…

    nfl nut is right

Compare JW3’s statements with Cam Newton’s

I remember Cam saying he has a love / hate relationship with football

    Jameis would never say that
