Jameis Is Not Injured

July 29th, 2017

Jameis Winston signs autographs for young fans while a “Hard Knocks” production crew documents each second. You can see the experimental knee brace Jameis is wearing on his left knee.

Bucs fans may have had a collective stroke when it came across Twitter that America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, was wearing a knee brace on his left knee.

Horror splashed from the sky like a lighting bolt.

Well, he isn’t injured. Thank goodness. Not even a little.

Initially, Joe reasoned if Jameis was even mildly dinged, the Bucs would hold him out. Look, it’s July. The goal is to be healthy for September. And Joe was right.

NFL teams, as well as a few quarterbacks, are experimenting with a special brace for QBs. It is not only precautionary, but it may be a tool to save wear and tear on quarterbacks’ knees, especially in underwear football.

(Yes, it was underwear football again today at One Buc Palace. The Bucs plan on going “shells” — shoulder pads only — tomorrow and tentatively, put on the pads for hitting Monday).

Winning Bucs coach Dirk Koetter said the reason Jameis was wearing a knee brace on the left knee is that for a quarterback, the left knee gets stressed more than the right knee because of a quarterback’s follow-through.

Koetter told the local pen and mic club that Jameis experimenting with a brace should not be the story of the day.

Oh, coach, but it is. When The Franchise is wearing a knee brace and fans are beginning to guzzle tequila as a result, the public needs to know what’s going on. If for no other reason than sanity.

OL have been wearing knee braces for a long time. I’m surprised this hasn’t been tried sooner.

Recall that horrible injury when the Steelers got to Carson Palmer’s knee. Palmer has still had a nice career but imagine if he hadn’t gotten his knee totally blown out. A brace on that left knee may have helped.

Joe, I noticed yesterday after practice Jamies was not wearing his cleats, and walked gingerly to a press event. Never read anything about it though?!?!

As long as the cancer gmc is on the team then jameis’ knees will always be at risk. No brace can protect jameis

The first thing Schiano, the Jersey Trash, did when he got here was put knee braces on Freeman and tell him he couldn’t break the pocket. I mean that was what Freeman did, he was an excellent mover and could run a little – but he made most of his plays outside the pocket and was excellent at it. The knee brace was a way to restrict his movement so he’d run Schiano’s Jersey trash offense and not get all uppity.
