The Best

Tops in NFL.

Hey Bucs fans, want another reason to get giddy for the football season?

Well, Joe brings information that should get your weekend rolling right away. It seems, at least in one category, there is no quarterback in the NFL better than America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston.

That’s right. Not Tom Brady, not Aaron Rodgers, not Andrew Luck. Nobody. Jameis sits atop.

But what could this be? Hitting receivers on crossing patters, per the PFF tribe; no quarterback in the NFL is as adept at completing crossing patterns better than Jameis. It’s all right here.

But you know what, Jameis is likely to get better. Yeah, really.

Think about it: Crossing patters are often done in short or intermediate ranges. With DeSean Jackson stretching the field, and with O.J. Howard along with Cam Brate patrolling the middle, this crossing pattern option could really explode for both Jameis and the Bucs.

For some reason I thought this particular pattern was Adam Humphries’ bread and butter Joe. Did he get most of his 1st down catches on crossing patterns?

He is really good at those crossing patterns but with the ability now to play more 12 personnel sets being 2 TE’s, 2 WR’s and one RB. That is why adding O.J Howard and Flash Jackson is so huge. A 12 set creates mismatch problems for defenses because you can run or pass with equal success in that personnel group. Add that with the fact that most star NFL QB’s who started as rookies had a huge leap in success in year 3 I think will equate to our offense being extremely dangerous.

Our defense should be better earlier this season too since the first part of last season was a lot of learning and thinking. Now they can just pin their ears back and play full tilt. I do not see too many teams that will clearly beat the Bucs. We just have to hope we do not beat ourselves with stupid costly penalties and avoid the injury bug as much as possible.
