Check out the video below from the Bucs’ Twitter feed. Wide receiver Chris Godwin skies to grab a perfectly-placed football from America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, for a touchdown in underwear football today.
Honestly, it reminds Joe of Santonio Holmes’ catch that gave the Steelers their last championship during the 2009 Super Bowl played in Tampa.
Joe is officially geeked for football season. (And unless O.J. Howard and Godwin switched jerseys, it was Godwin catching that pass.)

Awesome catch by Godwin. Surprised no one mentioned that the pass from Jameis was a long-range missile dead on target … looked like it was traveling 1,000 miles an hour. Godwin will get lots of playing time this year if he keeps that up.

No one seems to be talking about Godwin as much as OJ. I watched as much as I could on this kid after the draft. I actually like him over OJ. He’s the one I’m watching.

Introducing: Chris ( Jerry Rice Clone) Godwin.
His overall Madden Rating just went up to 80….before a single NFL PS/RS snap.
I am soooooo glad Godwin and OJ are Bucs.
OK…maybe a little too much…..but…I’m pumped..!!

I live in Edinboro, PA. Penn State is my college team. I have watched Godwin do nothing but produce every year at Penn State. The only reason he was not rated a top 10 talent was because Penn State had a crap quarterback throwing to him this year. That QB has no deep ball or velocity. Essentially Godwin would have to slow down or make a contested catch each pass play. Godwin is in the image of bucs former WR Mike Williams. Godwin has great speed, field vision, hands and body control. He will impress with any time he is given. All he did was produce at Penn State.

Honestly, this was why I was initially distraught over the Justin Evans pick. I thought the bucs had thrown away a shot at Godwin. I thought he was very much a need player. To be available in the 3rd was crazy. It’s going to be near impossible keeping him on the sidelines.

I don’t know if I’d necessarily call that “skying” for a TD, but it’s still nice to see regardless.

Every time i’ve seen this replayed, I swear that you can only see one toe hit the ground and the other foot is actually resting on the first foot and never actually touches.
