Take A Lesson From Drew Pearson

May 3rd, 2017

Time to call Key.

Joe is still buzzing from the draft.

And one of the coolest things Joe has seen in a long while was when former Cowboys receiver Drew Pearson trolled Iggles fans in Philadelphia when he went full-blown wrestling heel chiding Iggles fans. (see video below)

Naturally, Iggles fans being Iggles fans, they went mental. It was beautiful.

Now the NFL has the option of holding the draft in Philadelphia next year, but Jerry Jones and Dallas is trying to lure it to Texas. If it is held in Philly next year, Joe has a brainstorm. This year, Mike Alstott presented the Bucs’ second round pick, safety Justin Evans. Rather than Alstott, the Bucs, could have Ronde Barber announce the pick.

It was the greatest play in Bucs history,Barber’s pick-six to seal the 2002 NFC title game, sending the Bucs to their lone Super Bowl while shutting the Vet down. Veteran’s Stadium never hosted another Eagles game.

Thing is, Barber doesn’t have the personality to troll like Pearson did, though him standing in front of Iggles fans in the City of Brotherly Love would be joyous enough.

No, the person to make Iggles fans wet their beds at night would be Keyshawn Johnson. Joe could just see Keyshawn holding up his Super Bowl ring, doing a throat slash yelling, “We shut the Vet down!”

Iggles fans would melt down!

In case you haven’t seen yet what Pearson did Friday night, enjoy the video below.

Drew pearson was awesome. You bring up a good point Joe. I wonder if other teams are going to look into doing the same thing if they go back to philly. I hope it is ronde n he gets em goin. Jerivicious would be another. Not sure how he would do getting them fired up but his catch and run zipped alot of mouths. Go bucs

They canceled the fireworks that were planned. There was nothing better than sending Eagles fans home brokenhearted after making them sit in the cold and watch their team lose before their very eyes.

I would never be more gratified again until 2016 when Hillary canceled her fireworks and all her lemmings were balling like babies in New York on election night.

Back to the Eagles. When the 2002 season opened, the Bucs went into the new stadium the following year, on the season opener…the Eagles home opener, slapped the Eagles around again.

    Keyshawn, Ronde, Or Joe Jerivious

  4. MadMax Says:

After drafting Howard, this was my favorite moment of the draft. What a roasting!

  5. Rrsrq Says:

    Sapp

  6. DavidBigBucFan99 Says:

Sapp or Key and Ronde can be the silent hype man holding up a BigHead of that fateful int. Then show a video of the Vet being torn down or the part of the movie Rocky when Klubberlang threw the woodshed on Sly Stalone since he was at the game trying to hype up the crowd.

Honestly for as much as I cant stankmd the Gayboys, this was my 2nd favorite moment of the draft after landing O.J.

He destroyed filthidephia’s world that night.

  8. R.O. Says:

Love how the Drew Pearson appearance is over blown by the press. Saw it live and it really was just no big deal. Also the Draft was so hard to sit through this year. I wanted to kill myself. I wouldn’t be surprised that ratings start taking a dive. It’s just rediculous the Red Carpet, the dragging out of picks. They are 3 and four picks behind than what they are showing on tv. It was horrible

  9. Jason Says:

    “NO MORE VET!”

  10. Jim Says:

    The NFL yanked the video

  11. Jim Says:

    At least from being embedded.

  12. LJS4th Says:

Don’t forget that we beat them the next year for the opening game of their NEW stadium as well!!! Iggles HaHa

  13. BringBucsBack Says:

While he may not go D. Pearson on them, Ronde was not above some trash talking. I can imagine him saying something like: “Hey Philly, is Donovan M. around? I use to catch some of his passes, even here in Filthadelphia and I wanted to ‘catch’ up!”

Sapp, on the other hand, would go D. Pearson on them!

Ronde’s interception was the sweetest play in Bucs history however, until Joe J’s catch and run, we only “thought” we could beat the giggles.

  14. Joe Says:

Sapp would be great but because of past incidents, NFL wants nothing to do with him.

NFL Draft is a TV show and Pearson played huge.

    TV ratings were up.

  16. BadHombre Says:

If Sapp’s pimp hand wasn’t so strong, I’d say he definitely should be the person to do it. Philly fans are dumb tho so they probably won’t even remember why they should dislike Sapp or Rhonde.

  17. Desertbucsfan Says:

That int from Ronde in 2002 was so memorable. It seems like we lost the 4 previous games against the Iggles. It seems like the draft could have been sped up a bit. TV seemed to be like 2 or 3 picks behind and they continue to go to commercial breaks. Much like the games. Lets throw a few more commercials in meh.

  18. Buc1987 Says:

Wanna laugh your ass off? Think the Eagles fans gave forgotten? Got 10 minutes? Watch this guy from 2015. Only 1 F-bomb, but he’s still pissed.

Fast forward to about 1:58 and watch him lose his mind over that loss. Dude is hilarious.

  19. Capt.Tim Says:

Drew was great. Watched it live. He had The filthedelphia crowd boiling!
    Agree Joe.
Keyshawn would be the Former Buc, that would revel in putting the Filthedelphia fanbase on the Grill!
And he could do it with Style.

  20. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Philly was a great event for the draft this year but, the NFL and Philly need to ct like George Costanza, leaving the room on a high note or on top. I learned up in Gainesville you can always retake a class but you can never relive a party…bucs PR should have been a little more cutting edge and had Keyshawn this year

  21. Buccfan37 Says:

87… there were at least 3 F words in that video. That was some deep resentment. I hate all of the teams in that division.

  22. grafikdetail Says:

oh that would be awesome to hear keyshawn say that 😂😂😂😂

  23. Joe Says:

  24. Stanglassman Says:

You gotta soak in the hate.

  25. unbelievable Says:

Good stuff 87! Made me go watch some highlights from that game.

No offense Joe, but a bunch of us commented that night that we should send Ronde out there next year to rile up the iggles. I guess great minds think a like. 😜
