Koetter Video: Don’t Label DeSean

March 11th, 2017

Throw deep!

Hey, that’s what Marvin Lewis told Dirk Koetter to do last summer.

Joe can already here the screams of Bucs fans pumped out of their minds on opening day with speedster DeSean Jackson lining up on outside.

At One Buc Palace today, Joe filmed Dirk Koetter talking about the weapon that is Jackson and why fans shouldn’t pigeonhole him in the offense.

What Koetter said is true Djax can do it all. Just look at his ’16 highlights and you will see him can catching most of his passes over the middle.

The most important aspect of Jackson’s game is the fact the defense must and will account for him every single play. his impact is going to be a huge help to the entire offense obviously.

tmaxcon, you’re spot on … defenses must account for WRs with Jackson’s speed or they’ll get burnt pretty quickly. Granted, he stretches the field which will help ME13 a bunch I think, but also think that great TEs working the seam can expand that even further. It’ll also be interesting to see Jackson’s impact on how Humphries is used this year. Crossing routes underneath could become a big thing with Jackson on the field.

He runs the drag, dig, post, corner and out very well along with the go route. I haven’t seen bubble screens with him but I would imagineven he would do those exceptionally.

Any highlight reel of Jackson you’ll see accurately thrown deep balls. Not sure this signing will fix that particular problem, one that has consistently plagued the Bucs the last two years.
